  1. Chris, I am interested in reading those papers, do you have a link?
  2. Great way to describe the bass......a direct radiator could never do that.
  3. Hey Sterling! You will be amazed at how loudly the LSs can play with such little power. For a first project, this looks like a good bet imo. Best regards-- Maynard Maynard, after your help with my other amp, I really trust your judgement and knowledge. I have been wanting fire up the solder gun for some time now. [Y]
  4. Beautiful speakers! ......now I want some.
  5. I just might order it, it could be fun for a first build. Would it move the woofer in a La Scala?
  6. Been a while since I've had a good Harp.
  7. Absolutely stunning!
  8. Yes, turntable plinths! You guys see the Klipsch? Little Bastard? The most up front speaker looks like an H1 with a different badge. (in the 2nd pic)
  9. Come on down! I have plenty of pizza in the freezer. According to Google Maps Salt Lake City is around 2400 miles from me. You should probably pick up some more beer along the way. As soon as I get out of state, I can buy some real beer (only 3.2% here)......I better drive fast.
  10. I guess that Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram is in the minority then. I can't speak for other manufacturers but everything we take apart has locktite and no washers. Some of the older stuff had washers however. I was a VW tech for many years.......loctite was always used on flywheel bolts. (if anyone cares)
  11. Amazing video, thanks for sharing. I loved the milling of the crankshaft.
  12. Congrats on the CIIs Rick! I love my Chorus speakers......don't sell you Heresys, don't even think about it. Now you have to listen to your collection all over.
  13. I am not sure why I have Chorus' in front of Klipschorns in this picture???? The expedit works really well in my small space.
  14. It seems like they're building on every single piece of empty land here, houses are selling and restaurants and shopping centers are always busy and everyone I know drives a new car or truck. (except us) My business has really picked up from just a year ago, so that means people are spending money on bigger ticket items. We don't live beyond our means, so the "down" economy hasn't really effected us. I'm glad things seem to be turning around.....I have a couple of good friends with construction related jobs and they are also working full time now, so as Martha would say "it's a good thing"
  15. Welcome to the forum. Someone will chime in soon with more knowledge than me.
  16. Oh wow, how sad. [] RIP [W] http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/sns-whitney-houston-dead-20120211,0,3411485.story http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/46355454#.TzcYm13BonV
  17. Looks like a great room to turn up the volume and let those things do work. [Y]
  18. What would be a "fair" price? I see them listed for $400 to $700 a pair. That's what they seem to go for around here too. I met a really cool guy who sold me his FII's for $350 in mint condition (he knew I stole them) Keep your eye open......don't count out a pair of Chorus's if want to go that vintage. I paid $600 for a pair of mint Chorus I's and they blow the Forte and FII away. "Fair" is up to you. Sorry, I am not much help in the $$$ department.
  19. I've owned both. The forte II has a better mid range horn........the Forte is still awesome and sounds great. I didn't notice any difference in the bass between the two. Keep your eye out for a pair, and if the deal is good go get 'em.
  20. Welcome to the forum. The madness now begins. []
  21. I had a few too many turkey and cokes one night and jumped off a roof but, never a windshield.
