  1. If you're in the US, that's well above the going rate these days. If they're particularly minty, perhaps 3k.
  2. It was a great victory on every front. Your team deserves every accolade.[^]
  3. May we always be "humble in victory, gracious in defeat."
  4. The Alabama coaching staff really had the game plan put together...plus they executed it all night. I'll bet there is some celebrating going on the Quarter, eh? [D]
  5. Yes, congrats to the Tide and their fans. 'Twas a humiliating performance by the Tigers' offense, for sure. I'm sure we'll be back. I'm not real fond of the tone of the opening post, but that's football fans at times, no? Can't say as I blame him.
  6. Have you driven it, Don? It's absolutely beautiful and the approach from the St. Francisville side is so nice. I cuts a good 20 min. or more from the BR-New Roads ride. (Wife has numerous relatives in the New Roads/Morganza area)
  7. It was the last of these slo-mo replays at the end of this You Tube clip...I certainly understand that one's leaning will color what one sees. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQjPZRRDD64 BTW, it's just a game y'all. Game implies fun, so let's have some o' dat fun, mkay? Goofy as he seems sometimes, that's one reason I like Les Miles...he's like a kid and having fun.
  8. "Hah", mourning. [:'(] Hope I do better. Mine is Tuesday.
  9. Another interesting angle (well, it's interesting to those of us with a dog in the fight) is the matchup pits two AP Coach of the Year winners...Saban in '03 and Miles in '11. I'm in a drawing for tickets. If I win them I'm not sure if I'll go or sell. [*-)]
  10. Lessee, Lsu may have won but didn't beat Alabama. Ok. Sure. Uh-huh. 9-6 BTW, that was an interception. I didn't think so either until I saw all the views. The Bama receiver lost control before any part of his body (other than his feet, of course) hit the ground. It was a hard-fought, close game and Bama outplayed LSU in some categories. LSU outplayed BAMA in some other categories. It seemed that by the 4th q and OT, LSU defense was having its way, and to a lesser extent its offense. Curiously, Nick's coaching decisions down the stretch seemed to contribute as well. Anyway, I predict quite a bit more scoring by both teams but another close, hard-fought match. I hope both teams put on a show that deflects the disappointment many have voiced about the game being all-SEC.
  11. Alabama sure has a proud tradition. Once we stayed the night in Tuscaloosa enroute to elsewhere. That night was some kind of Bear Bryant event in the stadium...anybody named after Bear Bryant in any way was welcome. They had like 30,000 at it! Meanwhile, so far this year LSU has the win. Heh. (Go Tigers, etc., etc.)
  12. Now we need the back story...how did you find the Khorns, what year are they, etc, etc. I see Heresy in the house. Any others? How about you?
  13. Go to church and confess your sins, my son...the sin of stealing. Yes...a steal. Should have been $300+ Congrats.
  14. Informative! As are the links. This is good timing as I will be installing the medium-range VHF/UHF/FM antenna I ordered in a few days.
  15. It will also be the first NC loss for an SEC team, right? [st]
  16. Hmmmmm, I must have him mixed up with another LSU player who is from New Iberia. Definitely not him. St. Aug. all the way. Love their marching band.
  17. Suprisingly to me, Mathieu was chosen yesterday as a finalist, even after that suspension. Didn't Oregon's LaMichael James get chosen as a finalist last year despite a suspension? Anyway, Mathieu was probably chosen because of all the buzz, but no way will he win it...nor should he. The Heisman is supposed to be about integrity and leadership qualities as well as sports prowess. Somebody had best give him speaking lessons beforehand...ever heard him speak? He's from out in the country near New Iberia and has a distinctive accent...1 part urban black, 1 part old-time Cajun. I'd bet the winner of LSU-Bama is a tossup, and Vegas seems to agree. Nevertheless, I'll pick LSU by a slim margin in an entertaining game full of twists and turns. I like watching Nicky go ballistic.
  18. Now we have to wait over a month? [bs]
  19. Okay, that was another crazy game. The final score gives no idea of what went on in the game...ergo, Georgia held LSU to 12 yds in the first half and ZERO first downs. I think LSU had a grand total of TWO 3rd down conversions for the game. Sheesh. So yeah, it'll be 'Bama & LSU in the BCS NC. Should be fun.
  20. Oh, I don't know, Mark. Saban and Miles' LSU National Championships needed lots of stars to line up just so. Otherwise you could say the same about them. As far as Saban's championship with 'Bama, and the upcoming championship, whether won by 'Bama or LSU, those are no fluke. Both have involved good coaching to be sure, but the big element is better talent and depth all around than the rest of the nation. Even with a loss to Georgia, unless it's a blowout, LSU should still be in the NC game. So it looks like the Tide vs. Tigers again. While the first game was riveting for fans of those schools, many others thought it a snoozer. I'm predicting that the encore performance will be anything but a snoozer.
  21. Oh, definitely keep Richt. Not only is he a great coach, but he is a class act and represents his school so well...not a given with head coaches...not at all. Heh.
  22. Arky, do tell of your experience. Oh, and so sorry about the traffic! We went to campus pre-game...parked at my son's place just a few feet off-campus...just to experience tailgating and such. Alas, we caught but a slice but it was impressive nonetheless. We hung around and hobnobbed with several Ark. fans. It was a pretty day and a nice experience. Football fans are a curious lot!
  23. Where you staying? I might as well make eating recommendations while I'm at it.
  24. I'm holding my breath, too, Arky. Dem Hogs is scary. If they win they could conceivably play the Big Game. Be sure to get around early in your red Friday...I'm confident you'll get fed by numerous tailgaters. Anyway, good luck to both teams.
