    Muhammad Ali

Thanks for the further info. He still didn't dodge the draft. He was convicted, fined $10,000, banned from boxing for three years. Hmm? I still don't consider him a dodger because he stayed here and faced his consequences. If the Supreme Court overturned his imprisonment due to appeal...that's was the US saying that he was within his rights. I don't hold that against him. P.S. most of my family are war vets... Wars we've served in...Civil, WWII, Korea, Vietnam , Gulf War I (me and my brother), Gulf War II (my son). I'm the only sailor out of all of these

Ali just wasn't fast - he could hit you as well. I'm old enough to have seen most of Ali's fights and I've also seen Tyson. Bone-crusher Smith and Mitch Green are two people that took Tyson the distance in his prime. Ali in speed and punching power was in a different league. Ali could also take a decent punch (remember Ken Norton - my fellow cryptologist)!!! Ali also fought in the days of 15 round fights...if Ali got passed round 5 without Tyson being mean, Ali would take him by round 15

Also - Ali did serve...he chose to serve time. He didn't use his money to get out of it, he didn't flee to Canada, nor did he have anyone in high places to put his name to the bottom of the list. Ali stood for his belief, and as a former Military member (6 continuous generations of service in my family), I say hat's off. He chose not to serve and served time - paid his debt to society. Prison can be just as bad as war sometimes.
  5. There's another example of a design going into the stratosphere (besides for the Volti's)...which I've previously owned...the Snell E/EII. The Snell that sold for a grand, eventually became the Audio Note AN/E (the Sogon version sells for over $100k a pair)! When my Snell's were damaged, I had to contact Audio Note for replacement parts!!!! So looking at what one of our own has accomplished - with quality drivers and furniture finishes.....yeah, I can see it now. The Audio Note AN/E sells pretty good (and sounds pretty good too), and has served as several reviewers reference system. I'm very happy with my modified Cornwalls (ALK crossovers, Crites Tweeters, and Fostex Supertweeters), but I wish Justin the best of success in his endeavor...he just may prove to be the next Peter Qvortrup!!!! I'd like to see him get a serious review!
  6. The Macassar Ebony model looks pretty solid!!!!
  7. Well, many people have changed the Cornscala image with different horns (such as the Fastracs and others) that others say outperform the K400 horn. I believe you're correct about the possible look at Volti's success. I'm basically looking at all the dogging of Klipsch that some in the hifi world do, not realizing that the La Scala was a one time a Class A product, as well as the Palladiums. Many in the high-end look down on Klipsch, but yet and still, I see their influence all across the landscape. Just goes to show how much PWK knew, and although technology changes - good speaker design is just good speaker design....even if it's old.
  8. Agreed. Whatever floats a potential customers boat!!!!
  9. Yep, they previewed this past weekend at T.H.E. Show in Newport California.

  11. Ok, everyone has a right to price their gear for whatever they want to, however Ampsandsound has two speaker models that look very much like Cornscalas to me. They are using beryllium compression drivers (which are quite expensive indeed), but they are priced at $20k for one model and $30k for another. I've seen what some of the people on this forum are capable of, and I just can't for my life see spending $20k + for cornscalas. However it could drive the value of the Cornwall up (the $30k got a bad mini review) !!!! What do you guys think - it seems that a lot of people are attempting to revive/remix the Klipsch Heritage models in one form or another. I believe the Heritage models from the originator are pretty darn good!!!! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!!!

Ali...can't hit what you can't touch.
  13. What are you running now? From your picks it looks like you have some small Paradigm Studio 20's in the rear.
  14. You're down in my neck of the woods aren't you? You're the guy from Navarre I'm up here in Milton
  15. Your information about the entire 1st team of Blues being lost is incorrect....2007 Lt Cmdr Davis crashed in South Carolina. The last multiple crash was back when I was a child (and that was just two). The Thunderbirds (Airforce) lost their entire team back in 1982 - which remains the worst American Acrobatic (Military) Aviation accident in history - all 4 pilots were lost. I too, have a heavy heart as well - I had just finished a funeral service at Barrancas National Cemetery for a survivor of the Nagasaki bombing who later married a Naval Master Chief. I'm also a 12 year naval veteran (Cryptology). I currently live in the P'cola area.
  16. We appreciate it, we really do....however, Memorial Day (IMHO) is reserved for a rare breed, to those that lost their lives while serving. We that are alive and well have a day call Veterans day, but those that have paid the ultimate price while serving....Memorial Day belongs to them. Fair Winds and following seas.........
  17. Ya, I thought it would be. Especially for someone that has RF-7ii's I believe this would be a perfect match. Aren't those what this center is meant to be matched up with? Have you seen this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-la-scala-speaker-/152087125300?hash=item2369195d34
  18. That's true - if you have LS for your mains - go LS (X3) for the front!!!!!!!!
  19. Cane grill to add to existing black. Finishes: Rosewood Macassar Ebony Birdseye Maple Walnut Burl
  20. Thanks Chad I was a cryptologist back in the day.
  21. This is weird - I'm seeing Palladiums all over the place now at very deep discounts. If you are allowed to say so, is the Palladium line being phased out or will there be a secret reveal of a new premium line? I understand if you can't say anything. I'm just curious......

  23. You have competition though......I won't mention where - I've been eyeing them for a week now.
