  1. Floor model plasma? Yikes. Chances are that thing's been run in torch mode the entire time it's been on the floor. How many hours are on it (you can check if you enter service mode)? Any signs of burn-in?
  2. To the OP -- any reason you're not considering the PC12-NSD? SVS actually recommended that I get two PC12-NSDs vs one PC12-PLUS.
  3. You sure you aren't confusing this forum with your Facebook page? +1
  4. I'm probably stating the obvious, but if you need a whole 5- or 7-speaker Veritas setup, you'd better get 'em all right now. Prices like that and limited availability seem to indicate that they're getting discontinued.
  5. I just ordered two RF-82 IIs, an RC-62 II, and four RS-52 IIs today as my belated Christmas/birthday gift. These will replace my two RF-3s, an RC-3, and four RS-3s. I should have 'em next week...yay!
  6. Another follow up question...do I want the adhesive-backed (tape) weatherstripping? That's all I can seem to find.
  7. I was refinishing the fronts of my beloved RF-3s this evening and, while removing the drivers, noticed that one of my speakers' tweeters had a gasket behind it and the other did not. Short of buying a new tweeter, is there any way to get my hands on a replacement gasket? If not, is there something I could use instead? I suppose it's no big deal if I can't get the gasket since I've had the speakers for 11 years and just now noticed that one of the tweeter gaskets was missing, but still...
  8. I did a search on the forums for a definitive answer to this question and couldn't find the answers, so I'll ask -- when are the new Reference speakers going to be available? I placed an order two weeks ago through my local dealer for a set of white RS-3II's to add to my current RF-3/RC-3/RS-3 system and I'd really prefer to get another set of RS-3's rather than their replacement.
  9. Let's just hope that someone at Klipsch who is in a policy-making position reads the posts on this forum. One of the main reasons I purchased Klipsch speakers (and, I suspect, this is the same for many others) is because of their high performance-to-price ratio. My local dealer was willing to enhance that ratio further (by giving me a package deal) because he knew that I could purchase through mail-order or internet sources. I did pay a bit of a premium by purchasing locally, but it was worth it to gain the extra service my dealer provides. However, there is a limit on the premium I am willing to pay to purchase locally, and Klipsch, through this new, heavy-handed internet sales policy, is going to seriously reduce the negotiating power we consumers have. Additionally, many, many people seem to lack faith in their local dealers and some may not even have access to a local dealer period. Klipsch has to realize that customers come first, and by alienating their customers in this way, they're going to lose sales to other brands which have more flexible sales policies.
  10. Since Klipsch's letter applies specifically to Internet sales, I imagine that mail-order and telephone sales from non-local authorized dealers are still possible. At least I hope that's the case...I was fully planning on buying a Klipsch RSW subwoofer when they become available, but I only have one dealer locally, and they don't discount. If I can't get the sub through mail-order or otherwise, I'll be forced to go with another brand. Klipsch really seems to be shooting themselves in the foot with this internet policy.
