  1. Sorry for being dense here, but do you mean that the Xbox is easier to use (control) to play games on? Thanks! []
  2. Thanks for posting all this, InVeNtOR. Reading about your experiences has helped me a lot. []
  3. I was thinking of going the PS3 route too, but in the end I just decided to save money and I bought a Panasonic stand alone that got excellent reviews. I play computer games, and if the PS3 had had more titles I was interested in as a gaming system I probably would've gone that route, but there weren't enough features that I wanted/needed for the $170 difference to justify PS3. Good luck in whatever you decide! []

    recievers?

I talked to Klipsch tech support at one point a couple of months ago about bi-wiring speakers, and they told me that the potential problem with that is that there is no way to control the amount of power the tweeter receives. If wired normally there is. So if the tweeter is rated for, say 20 watts and you have it bi-wired and decide to crank it, you run the risk of overloading it. Just something to consider.
  5. Like someone stated earlier, make certain that you are buying from an authorized dealer, otherwise your warranty will be worthless because Klipsch won't honor it!! You can check on the Klipsch web site to make certain that the dealer you are buying from is an authorized reseller. Good luck! []
  6. And I thought I was having bad luck with things when I had two products that had to be returned due to damage! [][]
  7. Aye, I know they really did me a huge favor by sending the RC-62--I came out smelling like a rose thanks to their generosity. I was just concerned that I'd have to buy different speakers to match with it. So I'm happy to hear that it appears my worries are for nothing! I wish I could mount them on the wall, but unfortunately I live in a duplex condominium and I'm quite certain that my neighbors would be able to hear/feel the vibrations from them if I did, because the way things are laid out one wall that would have a speaker on it is the front wall of the building. Really too bad, too, 'cause that would save me the cost of speaker stands. []
  8. After reading the thread by Roaddog359 I realized that I now have a center channel that is not matched to my other speakers. This happened through a fairly convoluted series of events over the past few weeks, and I'll try to describe it as succinctly as possible. I won an auction for a RC-35 from the Klipsch Ebay store. It was one of the first things I bought for my new 'home theater', and when it arrived the box was in perfect condition so I just stuck it in a corner to wait for the other parts. Later on, I won another auction for a pair of RB-35's from the Ebay store. I originally planned to use those as my front speakers, and shift my existing RB-5's to the side/rear for a 5.1 setup. When I opened the box of the RC-35, there was a big hole in the grate of the speaker and it rattled. I called Klipsch and they sent a label for UPS to pick it up, and sent out another speaker. However, the speaker they sent as a replacement was a RC-62! Initially I was ecstatic, because I got such a huge upgrade, but now that I think about it, I realize that this new speaker is not going to be timbre-matched to my other speakers. Any comments/suggestions?
  9. Welcome to the forums! As has been stated before, buying both a DVD player and a CD player is an unneccesary expense--especially if you don't own any SACD's. Are you planning on living in the same place, or at least the same approximate size place for the next 5-7 years? If so, I'd question whether the RF series is possibly even too large for that size room. You might want to consider a pair of RB-51's or RB-61's (bookshelf speakers) instead. That would save you some money as well. [] Of course, others here are far more knowledgeable than I. In any event, I hope you enjoy your purchase, and avoid too much negative neighbor faction! []
  10. I haven't got anything hooked up yet: I'm still stressing over which speaker cable to buy and how much of it (since I'm not sure whether I'm going to buy a wire fish and try running the wire under the carpet, or what.) I've been looking at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002CNTUE/?tag=wwwspectackle-20 as a possibility; I know 250' is way overkill but I'd rather have too much than too little. And if I run it along the baseboard and up around the front door frame all the way over to the other side of the room I'll need more than 100'. Of course if I do that, I'll need CL2 or CL3 and not this stuff. Thanks again for your input!
  11. Hmm, I totally messed up then. I shouldn't have bought the RB-35's and instead should've bought some RS-42's or RS-52's, and kept my RB-5's as fronts. I guess now my only choice is to try to sell the RB-5's and pick up some dipoles after that, because I don't have room behind my couch to put speakers without having the couch practically in the middle of the living room! [^o)] I'm in Winter Garden; we're practically neighbors. []
  12. I'm just not sure I can handle it physically--Disabled w/ a bad back.
  13. Wow those look so awesome!! Youthman, are you planning on eventually turning your rears so they are more parallel with the sides of the room? That is, they would be facing the chairs from the sides rather than the rear. That's how I was thinking of placing mine; just wondering if that sounded like a good way to do it.
  14. I can't wait to see it!! I've been putting together my very first HDTV/Home Theater system since mid-November, and I still don't have everything in place. I still need to buy speaker wire and then wire everything up, but I'm not sure if I can do it (run the wire.)
