  1. I use o own the F3 tower and went in a different direction. How do these new F-30 towers compaired to the old ones? I felt the old ones lacked midrange and need to sound more forward in the midrange. I thought the highs were nice though. Thoughts?
  2. I just placed my C3 on ebay so check it out if your interested. I still have S3 that are not listed yet so let me know if anyone is interested.
  3. PM me with a reasonable offer and I may sell mine sine I'm in the process of moving and down sizing to a small/consolidated system.
  4. I tend to like aluminum, just seems that in general, to me, they seem a bit bright and clear not to harsh. Thoughts?
  5. I'm looking to get a litle more midrange out of my F-3s and a bit more forward sound. Right now they sound like the lower vocals are in the background. Think I can match up the RF-82 crossover to the F-3s? I really don't want to deal with having to sell the speakers and start a search again. I do like the tweeters in this set just need a bit more midrange/forward sound! Thank you.
  6. I'm pretty sure it's hooked up right. It didn't sound that bad lol I took my Infinity crossover and hooked it up to the left speaker and hooked up the right speaker with the OEM crossover. I noticed that the one with the Infinity crossover had the same lows but more midrange where as the one with the OEM crossover had clearer more forward highs but lacked midrange, again it sounded like the mid to low vocals where more back and not as forward. It seems femals vocals are ok but deeper vocals are more affected. Price range is under $1000 per speaker. Room size is 15x12. The music I listen too varies in instruments. Probably the least I listen to is rap and country. These would be for HIFI only and not home theater. Thank you!
  7. I currently have a complete Synergy 3 setup. I'm looking for a speaker recommendations for a 2 channel only setup. The two speakers will be powered by 2 Emotiva XPA-1 amps. The recieve is a Denon 2808. Currently I feel that the Synergy F3's have excellent highs and decent lows but the vocals seem very relaxed and not forward enough. I'm guessing that this is because of the horn style tweeter and crossover setup...? I'm looking for something with the same clear high but with a bit more forward vocals. Any sugguestions?
  8. I got my C3 last month from Vann's but it doesn't look like they have any left. The S3 was a bit harder to track down...keep checking ebay every week or so.
  9. Is 0dB on the reciever considered reference level? Normally I listen between -30 to -20 dB. Thank you! Jack
  10. I picked up some 2M Encore II connects but I'm going to exchange them for 1M interconnects tomorrow since I havn't opened them yet and I only need about 3 feet of cable length. Looks like the Encore II would be a good match for my F3 and XPA-1 amp. I was thinking of silver solder interconnects but think they might make the sound to bright for my Klipsch horns. Any opinions?
  11. Sounds like my amp's humming issue is back. It appears to do it the first 3-5 minutes the amps is on. I can then pause the music and it's perfectly silent....odd..anyway it sounds like Emotiva is willing to help me out. Just have to wait till Monday to talk to the designer. Hopefully it's something easy. Don't really want to ship the amp back [:|]
  12. The XPA-2 and the XPA-3 would be a great combo for a 5.1 only without getting too crazy. If you want a 7.1 setup get the XPA-2 now and the XPA-5 when they are back in stock. I have 2 XPA-1s and think I'll go with the XPA-5 to finish the 7.1 setup. I would like to get another XPA-1 for the center channel then go with a a XPA-3 for a 6.1 setup but I really don't want to deal with that much equipment and additional cost since HT isn't as important to me as 2 channel stereo. Does anyone know how 6.1 compairs to 7.1? Can 7.1 recordings be scaled down to 6.1? Thanks!
  13. The hiss is from the tweeter. I'll try it again with the source disconnected. It wasn't noticable unless you had you ear inches away from the tweeter.
  14. Pretty darn good. The bass is tighter. The mids and highs are very good too. I only have my ipod plugged into each amp. One rca for the left and the other for the right. I'd like to see how it sounds once I have some sort of preprocessor etc, but for right now I have no complaints
