  1. Here is the link: http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/auc.pl?spkrmoni&1010025646k: They were at $202 last time I checked.
  2. Thanks for the input. What's this sub worth? The guy wants $395 obo for it. That sounds a little high to me. What do ya'll think? 3. A friend of a friend has a used Infinity SSW-212 active subwoofer for sale. This Sub has two 12" Subwoofers powered by a 300 watt amp. I was told that can this sub can be passed at 30hz with good bit of output. The guy who owns this sub has all highend equipment (Wilson audio, Krell and others), so I would think that he's knowedgelable about HIFI equipment. This sub was made for audiofiles, and the guy says it's like new and works perfect. Do any of you know if this sub will be a nice addition to my 7s? Have any of you ever listen this sub? What is this sub worth used? I think it sold for around $1600 new. Thanks for any input, JJ ------------------ Klipsch RF-7 Sonic Frontiers power 1 Antique Sound Labs Passive Ti CD mod Stan Warren of Super Mods Blue Circle innterconnections & bi-wire speaker cable
  4. BobG, Yes, I realize that I do need a sub that can produce a 120db of output below 30hz. I guess, that sould have been my question. Is there a smaller sub that will work, or is the RSW-15 my only option? I've heard that the HSU VTF-2 has allot of output. I realize that active subwoofer spec are'nt worth the paper that they're written on. This is what makes matching a sub so difficult. Thanks for the input, JJ TextText
  5. I have posted this same message on the Subwoofer board, but since this is the 2 channel board, and since I have a 2 channel setup, I thought someone over here would also be knowledgable on this subject. Thanks for any input. JJ ------------------------------------------------------- I have an audiofile system, and I looking for a sub that will play with my RF-7s. I love the new 7s by-the-way. I think they are the best overall Klipsch speaker to date; they sound Great with tubes. I want to buy only one sub if I can get away with it. I'm not looking to shake the house. I just want to add some bottom end to improve the 3 dimensional image of my system. I know that not choosing the correct sub can result in a depletion of the stereo image, so I need some help from you guys who have experience in this subject. My main concern is sensitivity since my 7s are rated 102@1w/1m. How are subs rated, and what is concidered a correct match for my 7s? Finally, size is an issue. I would like to keep the size down as much as possible. I like the size of the Sunfire subs. Current Upset: Power Amplifer: Sonic Frontiers Power 1 (60watts/channel) Pre-amplifer: Antique Sound labs Passive Ti Source 1: CD mod from Stan Warren of Supermods Source 2: none yet (Rega turntable) Subs that interrest me: Klipsch LF-10 Klipsch RSW-10 Sunfire True II REL Strata III HSU VT-2 PS: I've heard allot of talk about the SVS subs on this board, but I'm not a fan of those. I don't like the design. I feel that it could become an eye swore in my room. Thanks for any input. JJ This message has been edited by Dawgheadus on 11-30-2001 at 02:48 PM

  7. I think this speaker wire recipe will do the the trick for ya <[img SRC="http://216.37.9.58/ubb/cwmsmilies/cwm30.gif" border=0> . Go-To: www.geocities.com/venhaus1/diycatfivecables.html
  8. Well folks, I didn't win the auction. The cornwalls that I told you all about were on Ebay. Zebrawood, in Atlanta, 30 miles away, man, I have always wanted a pair Klipsch speakers in Zebrawood. I really wasn't concerned with what series they were. Hell, they're all good. Klipsch doesn't make speakers in Zebrawood anymore. That's the main reason for me wanting these speakers. my last bid was for $750, and the guy before me must have bid more, so I lost out. What a bummer. 9. Hey everybody, I knew that wise crack would stir some emotions around here , but I couldn't resist it . Klipsch Heritage are the only speakers that I have ever owned. I've been buying highend stereo equipment since 1987, and there has been no substitute for Klipsch Heritage since then. I have auditoned several different more expensive brand speakers, but I have not yet found any speakers that fit my tubes better than Klipsch Heritage. Now that I've gotton that off of my chest, I feel 100% better. I have read that the new RF-7 is suppose to be a break though speaker for Klipsch. That's why I have an interrest in the 7s. I hope that my curosity dosen't turn into regret though. Maybe I should wait to here them with my own ears. Who knows? I have always been a sucker for better sound and especially Klipsch sound. PS: Alex, since your post, I have found a mint pair of Cornwalls for a good price. I may buy them just to have them. Cornwalls are the only speakers in the Heritage line that I haven't owned. If the Cornwalls turn out to be great with my tubes, I may put the RF-7s on the back burner for now. Thanks, JJ This message has been edited by Dawgheadus on 09-09-2001 at 05:17 PM
  10. Alex, I've been using Chorus IIs and a Velodyne CT-150. I sold my Chorus'and my sub to my brother last week. That setup had a wonderful sound, but I'm looking for a speaker with more detail and a sweeter midrange. I think the RF-7s will do the jod well for me. PS: I have owned K-Horns, La Scalas, Belles, and I have a pair of Heresy IIs right now. I love the heritage line, but they're like a girl with BIG hair. They're great, but if you stay around them too long, they become annoying Thanks, JJ
  11. I have Sonic Frontiers tube gear, and I'm thinking of buying either the KLF 30s or the RF-7s. Have any of you ever heard the RF-7s? The stereo shop here in town doesn't have the RF-7s or the KLF 30s . I have found a great deal on a pair of KLF 30s on the internet, but if the RF-7s sound better, I wait and buy those . Thanks, JJ
  12. Hello folks , I'm looking for a pair of nice used Klipschorns to buy. I have a pair of black Chorus IIs (always ran with ultra-clean power)that I can trade plus some $$$. If anybody is interested, or if somebody knows a place besides E-Bay that sometimes has them, let me know. ThANKS, JJ

  15. boa, I don't need another sub in my room. When placed properly, one Velodyne CT-150 is perfect for my system. It really sounds like a live performance in my room now. I'm telling ya; it's totally awesome. My dad just bought a $8000 HT system, and this may sound crazy to you, but my system blows his away. I do have a 56" Sony television, so I do watch movies on satelite (DSS) on occasions, and they are great too. PS: To all people thinking of buying a sub who own Klipsch Heritage speakers and a 2 channel setup, If you don't have the room for a sub, don't waste your time or money on one. I've found placement means everthing. You don't want the sub to bleed into the true setero sound produced by your 2 channel setup. When you found that correct balance though, it's something to be appreciated. That's what I discovered.
