Maybe i should have been careful with my wording, the amp can be bias improperly and present ''excessive'' voltage at the output and be enough to burn the tweeter, can be clipping too early from being over driven in early stage/defective. Burning tweeter at this rate is not normal so i would check the wiring in the speaker/crossover to make sure everything is ok and if no joy get the amplifier bench check, hope this is better for explanation.

I would get the amplifier check, probably passing DC. Double check your wiring in the crossover to speaker to make sure everything i wired properly.I do have a 200 watts per side amp pluged to a 20 watts tweeter in a Tri-amp set up and i never blown a tweeter in 5 years and trust me i did run my system stupidly extremly loud(way pass concert level did hit +130 db @ 8 feet away in the basement) to impress friend couple time when drunk [<)]

Copper may be copper but long strand copper vs short strand is definitely different. Put a meter on it and check resistance.I can hear a difference also in volume on longer strand copper. When I went to the AQ X2 wire I had to drop a half notch on the volume control. It was that noticable. Not scientific but noteworthy. the A500 will not make your sub thum but many people are using the EP2500 from Behringer or the EP4000 (rebadged EP2500) from Beri as well this will shake your sub :-) . The A500 is a rip off ALESIS 500 that is a ''studio amplifier'' convection cooled no fan noise. Many people are using them full range they are not bad ( i do not like Berhinger this is a moral issue for me about ripping off other's design) Most pro amp are fan cooled and can be noisy, if you do a search on google you will find tons of threads about swapping the fan with a quiet one on the EP2500 that is a rip off (reversed engineered aka Chineese blue print) of the QSC RMX2450. Thing to keep in mind going from 90 watts to 200 watts will not do much for you this is only about 3.1db louder, To be twice louder you need 10 times the wattage. Edit: The A500 is rated 125 watts a side @ 8 ohms @ 1khz so this about 100 watts a side 20-20khz, got to love those false advertise of burst peak to peak power [+o(]

I if stand correct those are to plug a crossover like the CS800 peavey, if you really need to use 2 ways active, it would probably be cheaper to get an external electronic crossover since you do have you buy them anyway.

The big round thing are usually for optional Crossover, the cable above is what you need, i do have 6 pro-amp connected to my AVR with that type of cable.

Use the XLR input or the stribarrier, you can buy a RCA cable that terminate with a XLR, just keep in mind you can have ground loop noise but rare. Driver itself not really, you will need twice the power to achieve same level of SPL.

Bridging apply to amplifier, so for speaker, 2X 8 ohms 100 watts speaker in parallel will give you 4 ohms 200 watts capacity if this is your question. Yes distortion will some how be added since you have 2 speakers now instead of one doing the job, but for same SPL now you have 2 speakers to do the job they will not work as hard and will have less cone mouvement = less distortion, so for your specific application would depends the speakers them self and how linear they are IMO.

Perhaps bad cables or something wrong with the crossover, have you tried to plug your pre-amp directly to the amp just to try to eliminate any guess?
