  1. Huhhh, why you would damage your amp? I own a HK AVR that i'm using only as a pre-amp for my surround, 0 speaker hooked up to my receiver just using the pre-out and i never broke a thing. Todays amps can run without a load hook up so a horn is better than no load at all.
  2. You are probably right but at the end same same[][]
  3. Are we done with Better Order Something Else(BOSE) []
  4. Many people use the RMX line as well like me(RMX1850HD) and no problem at all in home environement, many people use the cheap Behringer EP2500 that is suppose to be a cheaper ripoff of the RMX2450 without problem. I also own a QSC MX3000A for my subs,a QSC 1080, a QSC USA370 bridged for my center channel,2 Bryston's 4B and a Crown XLS402B no issue. IF you check at QSC forum you will also find that Bob said the RMX should sound really close to the PLX serie, yes the PLX are really nice but i would never say do not buy the RMX,MX and USA line are really good and tough amps. The main problem is the noise comming from the fan that can easily fix with a low noise fan installation[].
  5. That amp doesn't have adjustable gain.[*-)]
  6. Sale that amplifier and get one that can deal with 4 ohms bridged is the most cost effective move you can do.
  7. Just put the leads into the jar, if that oil snake stuff is conductive you will get 0 ohms or near. []
  8. From QSC web site user manual cheer. The Model 1400 and 1700 amplifiers feature High Turbulence Flow-Through Cooling. An internal, two-speed fan forces air across a light-weight, high-turbulence heat radiator. Air flow is from the rear, so that warm air is exhausted to the front rather than baking the rest of the rack. This prevents the recirculation of heated air and reduces internal rack temperatures. Be sure that plenty of inlet space is allowed in the rack for free air flow.
  9. Your chart makes more sense, because with the other chart what the pro would be using for a 18k watts amp like powersoft 20k or a Labgrupen PLM14000 of 14k watts a 0000 awg? totally unpractical and never seen 0 gauge for speaker.
  10. I own 2 Bryston 4B and both have gain just you did not specified if yours had gain sorry about that, i have one with black handles 25 years old with gain in front and the other chromed handles 27 years old and gain in the back, both are death silence on power up or down and never been modified still original and keep rocking.
  11. For the hiss turn down the gain on the amp refer to owner manual that should help a bit, for the noise turn during shut down the volume of your pre-amp first.
  12. 4 pages but interesting reading about pro amp VS high end, a guy bough a PL340 from QSC and compares it to Krell,Mac and classe interesting result http://media.qscaudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2679&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
