  1. Sounds like a dud mic. Contact support, they can get you fixed up.
  2. Why not just edit your original post? Thanks!
  3. You don't want noise canceling AND in-ear. That is either superfluous OR compensation for poor in-ear design. If you found a set at Best Buy you liked but they were missing the remote, just buy the remote. Griffin makes one. http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/smarttalk
  4. Agree with you on all accounts. At first they weren't very comfortable for listening sessions around an hour or more and they seemed a tiny bit shallow and thin. Now? Wow, what a difference. Incredibly comfortable and the sound, truly amazing.
  5. If you're turning up the volume or using too large of ear tips, maybe. Klipsch ear tips are among the best I've ever used so having issues with the tips is surprising (if that is the cause) but not impossible. I'd bet it's a volume thing or just something your ears will get used to. Have you used other in-ear monitors before?
  6. I agree, this is disconcerting, if not full on scary. The Klipsch I grew up with and fell in love with could be forever changed by an acquisition like this. It has been my experience that when an inferior company buys a superior company, they end up meeting in the middle. :-\ Of course, maybe this will be the exception? Kind of like when Amazon bought Woot and Zappos. They kept their company culture, and operations, intact. Fingers crossed that if the acquisition DOES happen, Klipsch gets to keep THEIR culture and operations. I love you Klipsch!
  7. As I understand it, you generally follow the laws of the state you are visiting. Much like a traffic law. If it is legal for drivers to drive w/o a seatbelt in Texas, but not in Oklahoma, as soon as they cross the border they better buckle up. Whether you signed the contract in one state or another wouldn't matter, it happened where it happens and that's the law there. Of course, I'm not a lawyer, I just listen to This Week in Law every week :-P
  8. I asked and this is what he said. Of course he also prefaced this explaining that the law in these types of situations changes state to state, that this is how it would most likely work out in the state of California. The contract signed by the patient prior to admission was as legal as any other contract. It is treated as such. Anyone trying to prevent the legal actions are in the wrong, legally speaking. Whether the harvesters were at the door or not doesn't matter, legally. They had every right to be there, in the room or outside the room. Even with a Power of Attorney, the father would have no right to prevent the harvesting of the organs as it was the father (or family) that ultimately decided to pull the plug. It was that decision that gave the harvesters the legal right to be in the room, or in the hallway. In these situations, every single minute counts especially with particular organs. In the heat of the moment, it is understandable that emotions were high and a courtesy should have been made for the family. Organ harvesters and anyone in the transplant business with direct contact with patients or family are required to complete intense sensitivity, psychology and greif training. I wish things could have been different. It does appear that the organ harvesters were not legally doing anything wrong, while preventing them to do their job would actually be an action which could qualify for legal ramifications by the donor network. Though it is unlikely that it would ever have gotten to that point. I have a personal connection to this situation as a previous emergency room trauma registration specialist, living with a paramedic, now transplant coordinator. I've seen these situations play out before and it is truly heartbreaking. I will never forget the first patient that I registered that died and the affect it had on me. All I did was register the patient. But when I went in there, she was alive. 45 minutes later, she wasn't. Seeing this day-to-day must be incredibly traumatizing, these transplant coordinators have to regulate their emotions to make sure they do their job 100% correct. There might be five other lives at stake should they not get organs to a patient in time. My partner's biggest issue with the job is the amount of time, or lack of time, they are provided. Things move at an incredible pace and to miss a single step could spell the waste of yet another life.
  9. My partner is a transplant coordinator for california hospitals. I'll forward this on and see what I get if you like. So sorry about your loss.
  10. You are welcome, INVITED even, to PM me a link to any spam you see on the forum. I'll get to it as quickly as I can and do my best to remove these posts.
  11. I prefer the Klipsch double flange oval tips but also use the Comply tips when I'm traveling. They are fantastic, comfortable, affordable (often have coupons on Twitter) and isolate even more sound, push up the already strong bass. I wrote a review of the Comply earpieces combined with the Klipsch S4i right here. The Comply earpieces work fabulously on all the Klipsch in-ear headphones I've tried them with.
  12. SPAMPatrol is the league of extraordinary (procrastinating instead of working) forum members who seek out evil spammers and delete their posts. Meanwhile, I replaced several fuses outside, inside and under the HK430, replaced the power cable and the lights on the front (which are mostly out again...). Nothing really crazy. The buzzing and popping is one thing, the having to switch sources manually, get up to turn down or turn up the volume is another. I often have a handful of people over for movies and getting up and standing in front of the screen to adjust volume isn't the best way to host a movie night. I love the HK430 and if I only listened to music and it didn't buzz/pop (the pops make me super nervous) I'd be fine with this. But it has gotten to the point that it's annoying enough (and scary enough) that I'm willing to toss a few hundred dollars to fix it (ie replace it). I just worry that a new amp won't have the warm sound I love from this HK430. I've had it since my senior year of high school and it has treated me well. Even after my lady roommates decided to hook it up to some other speakers and ended up wiring the left channel to the right channel... That didn't end well. Thanks again
  13. The remote features of all Klipsch headphones work with iPhones, iPod Touches, iPads... you see the trend. They also work with any Apple laptop or desktop purchased in the not too distant past. My 1 year old laptop loves my Klipsch headphone remote control and microphone! That being said, the only limitation to these headphones in this capacity should be the source. If your computer or device cannot use the remote control or microphone, you will have dumb headphones. Great sounding headphones but dumb as in, no remote control, no microphone. The headphones should work as headphones just fine.
  14. Would not advise that you do this. The iPhone mic/controller works from the mic to a mono speaker, the Klipsch version is a mic to stereo speakers. Wiring this is possible but will likely result in breaking two sets of headphones. I have no complaints on the positioning of the mic or controller by Klipsch. My voice is picked up easily and the central location makes it natural to use either hand to operate the buttons as opposed to the way Apple implemented their remote control.
  15. I gave that lens and a Nikkor 80-200mm F4 to a friend who recently picked up an old Nikon film camera, just before me moved to Seattle. I loved that lens but he's getting much better use out of it
  16. Would you like to take on that role, Justin? I would be honored! Too bad there isn't an askismet plugin for the bulletin board...
  17. There could always be a Klipsch Forum Elite Minutemen Army of Spammer Eradication.
  18. I twitpic'd a photo much less revealing and someone on twitter says, "OMG! You're my new neighbor!" What a world right?
  19. Well there you go. I've had great luck with Sennheiser in the past working warranty jobs. I had the driver replaced on my HD600 headphones, out of warranty. All I paid was shipping.
  20. What exactly are you asking? The X10 headphones are incredibly sensitive. If you're asking how much power before they max out, the answer is after your ears max out but before many of your audio sources do.
  21. They work as a headphone with anything that has a headphone jack. If you're wanting to use them as a microphone for your PC and not a Mac/iDevice, then you'll have to search around for some adapters to convert a 3 channel (L/R/Mic) into a Stereo + Mic combo cable. I'm pretty sure I've seen something like this at RadioShack before. Might try looking around for the adapter cable. If you're really diligent, you could make your own. By the way, not that you implied it was Klipsch's fault or Apple's fault but, as I understand it, anyone can use that jack type, it's just that Apple seems to be the only one incorporating it into more than just a phone.
  22. If you want to spend very little money, try the Koss Porta Pro headphones at around $30. Best sounding headphones you'll ever hear, for under $75. Also, Sennheiser will repair your headphones, unless you just really want a new set.
  23. Thanks for the initial review! I plan to do an in depth review on my site as soon as I get a set.
  24. Seems like everyone and their twitter account is watching Conan right now. Do I regret canceling my cable four years ago? Right now, yeah a little.
