  1. This should be a no brainer for someone at that price. These will really surprise you.
  2. $400 for that unit is nuts for what it can do over and above my 805, so how long have you lived with it and what's your review? Back to the original post, and please forgive the ignorance but what is the need for all this additional equipment? I can hook up my tower or any other device right to my receiver with HDMI, or spdif or 3.5 to rca and the receiver does a great job with regards to the DAC, in fact I was switching back and forth from a new CD played through my player and the WAV file on the tower and at the same levels there was no audible difference at all, so I just don't get the need, but as always, I'm here to learn if there's a better way but I'm not sure what that would be.
  3. I don't have to tap them to get them in.
  4. I can check the bars when I get home but don't have a PDF
  5. Oh gee.... Some assembly required.... and instructions to read... The most important part of the assembly with any saw is taking as much time as necessary to dial it in perfect prior to using it and then checking those measurements on a regular basis to make sure things cut square and true. Glad you finally got it.
  6. I picked up a Summitt Gold D6 a couple years ago for a whopping $350 that needed $20 in cross bars and it's the best money I've spent on a grill.
  7. Late to the party again but I'll throw another vote in for the RSW 15 and as I've stated on here many times I really love them for music and have no complaints with them for HT even when I compare it to my SPUD but I'm almost all music and a few movies a month that the HT is really in play. As you are searching you should consider jumping on any great deal that will bump you up a notch until you find what you really want, heck, if you find enough good deals you might pay for the final one with other peoples money.
  8. So much for the refocusing thing and someone's got to say it. Boxx does have a really nice unit too! LMFAO
  9. I would really check the basics first, make sure the power cord is good, then I would get another fuse unless you've tested it and then just keep tracing the power until you find the problem which may be that the amp failed and you need to find a replacement. If you're not comfortable checking these things then I would probably remove the amp and have it tested by a qualified repair shop, but for what they are going to charge you to look at it, you could buy a decent multi meter if you don't have one and just learn how to use it to check power because it will end up saving you money in the future.
  10. If you give Chris a call, he may be willing to sell you the parts.
  11. http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/ele/4221947366.html Good Guy, works for me.
  12. I have a Linksys EA6500 and I have no complaints. I get great coverage on both floors and when I go out to the shop (about 100' from the house) I still have great coverage, much better than the Netgear that I replaced. I haven't used it for streaming yet as I'm in the process of getting everything set up with the new home server so I can't comment on that yet.
  13. Freud 6" super dado set. You will spend a few bucks but I can tell you that this set does a fine job. I have run hundreds of feet with this set and the dado's are still very clean. I would not suggest going with a larger set based on the table saw you will be using and assuming that you will be making minor depth dado cuts. With regards to blades in general CMT blade do a fantastic job and I can generally pick them up for less than the Freud blades without sacrificing anything. I've used a ton of different blades over the years and these have become my go to blades for everything. Thanks for the input... I've decided to go with a Freud set.... You will not be disappointed but please figure out your guide and hold down system first as well as your out feed table so you can continue to type with all your fingers.

  15. I maintain the dealer locator, but it's only as good as the people who inform me to make the changes. Some are better at it than others. I'm not clairvoyant. Let me know the specifics, and I'll look into it. I was serious when I said that if your accounting department can't give you a purged list in minutes, there's really something wrong so go kick some butt and explain to them how good updated information translates into additional sales and happy customers and work on the clairvoyant thing so I don't have to type as much.
  16. While we're giving him a list of tools, lets add clamps (the more the merrier) they will also keep the boards from moving when installing pocket screws and a compressor with a crown stapler/finish nailer is something you'll never regret having and while you're making a list a small impact driver will cause you to forget you have a drill for driving screws. Heck, if you're going to make a list, might as well make it a long one; table saw, palm, orbital and belt sander, hvlp turbine sprayer, drill press, dolly's, HD ball bearing lazy susan support, respirator, a big work shop......................................................... it's a really deep rabbit hole my friend so either jump in or just go around it.
  17. Even if it's not a priority is should be a 3 minute export out of their accounting system of active dealer accounts, unless they have that idiot Sebelius running their accounting. I'll bet Chad could do it with about 3 keystrokes and really, wouldn't that benefit them to have an accurate list? I know that when I'm trying to find something if there are too many hurdles, I'll just move on to another product or another site.
  18. The cabinets are getting refinished now and I'm looking at installing the Goldwood 2" horns and I'm looking at drivers now and then I will have to call Dean and order another set of his expensive but tolerable networks once I decide on the drivers. All kidding aside, he built them for the Cornscala's and they are wonderful and every time I mention how great they are I get a $10.00 discount on my next order so I think he owes me at this point.
  19. That's how I built my Cornscala's and others have too. I have a bass bin, Fastrac on top and the Beyma on top of that, although the tweeter could mount in the bass cabinet, really never though about doing that until now. Overall height is at 49" with the tweeters on top. In this configuration, as I've stated, they're better than my stock C2's but they're getting a makeover now and I'm not sure where I'll end up with them, they may be a 2 way.
  20. Dave's horn will not fit in a Cornwall, so if that's the way you want to go, you can build an additional top box and do a split Cornscala or you can completely abandon the box and build a new one.
  21. I'm just going to answer about Dave's fastrac horn with the Cornwall 2's, I believe they will fit but I will verify that for you since I have my Cornwall 2's apart for cabinet work and have a fastrac on the shelf. OK, I'm going to answer about some other things too, Bob's cast woofers are better than the originals, Dave's fastracs are much better than the stock mid horns and Bob's CT's are better than the original tweeters but not as good as the Beyma's IMHO and listening to a Cornscala and Cornwall 2 (original) at the same time, not switching A/B and that has been done with a receiver running the show, a couple Carver M200t's, a QSC DCA and my Sansui 8080, but I haven't had tubes in a long time so I can't comment on that. Others have said, update the crossovers, you should, and then decide how much money you want to spend and in what order and go from there. There are different sounds from different amps, some extremely noticeable and others that won't make a difference, so if you're happy with the sound, that's all that matters. FYI, my old Sansui sounds better than any combination I have, it's much warmer but will still drive the 15's to "rock out" levels, now that may or may not be less distortion, sounds "more like tubes" or it could just be the fact that it's the sound I like. I'll try and check out the horn fit tonight and let you know.
  22. I'm trying to find a clean download for EAC that's not loaded with a bunch of bloatware and I've downloaded the trial version of dbpoweramp so I can play with a couple and I also have a copy of Roxio so that should give me a decent overview of what's available for free or if the db software is worth the $40. Handling some of the "less than pristine" cd's I have will probably make the decision since I want to rip everything and put them away for good. The db is supposed to allow you to rip to multiple formats at the same time which sounds very attractive since I need to have small mp3 files for my GF's players and maybe the other programs offer that too. I haven't purchased a sound card yet and have just really started looking at them so for the time being I'll have to see what the Asus can do, it's a M5A99X and I should have it hooked up to the receiver tonight. I'm hooking it up with HDMI and it's a 40' run that I will use a mono price "Redmere" cable that I just received yesterday and jacked it into the TV to take a quick look and didn't notice any signal degradation at all, in fact the Blu Ray that I popped in looked fantastic so I would expect I will get similar results when it's direct to the Onkyo. I understand what you're saying regarding storage space but if I can't hear any difference between the WAV and the FLAC file then I will opt for the FLAC because I'm set up with multiple backups, one internal and one external so it all starts adding up in size and dollars so after I rip the same piece in both formats and burn them to disc for an a/b listen, my decision will be made. The music comes first and then I'll have to get into the DVD's and Blue Rays and I can see all 6 internal bays in the tower filling up rapidly. I really appreciate the info and opinions from all of you so keep it coming.
  23. I need to start ripping all of my media to my home media server including cd's, vinyl and movies and need some advice and opinions regarding formats and software. There's probably a couple hundred CD's, 150 albums and 70 movies that will be the start of this and I've got 6 terabytes of storage at the present time. I'm I'm doing this primarily to have everything at my fingertips as well as preservation of the media. I'm also looking at some happy medium with regards to quality and file size and more mainstream format. I said PC for a reason because I do not own a piece of apple gear and I have no plans to do so. (not slamming apple gear but just a choice to stay with things I know) I've tried doing detailed searches on the forum and keep getting kicked off so links to recent threads regarding this information would be great too. Thanks!
  24. I needed it, so as a novice I would second the motion to get some software. I paid around $140 for DATS and Winspeakerz and I wish I would have done it a few years ago.
