  1. I just saw this deal and thought someone might be interested: (No affiliation) Tiger Direct via eBay has Logitech Harmony 670 Universal Remote for (refurbished) for $39.99 with free shipping. Next lowest on Google Products from a reputable store is $117 shipped. Thanks DJ3xclusive Note, price comparison is for a non-refurbished one. It may be a way for somone to get a inexpensive refurbished remote.
  2. I do not have a blu ray yet but I did get a copy from Netflix. I would have to say from a sound effects point of view I did enjoy it. With the subwoofer you could feel the transformers walking around. The movie I thought was a bit week, I think they were trying a bit to hard to appeal to the 12-15 year olds. But with the surround system turned up and Megan Fox on screen it was still worth watching.
  3. I would get them for sure. I have had my KG2's since the late 80's and love them. You will be amazed how much base these things can put out. I would love to find a pair of KG4's for $100. They seem to be going for 200-300 here in Michigan.
  4. As you can see from my signiture I have an entirely KG home theater. I just love them. I purchased the original KG2's in high school. I took them to college and they blew away other speakers twice their size. They have an amazing amount of base out of such a small speaker. I think I really have put together a great home theater for under $500 in the past year. That includes purchasing the KG 2.2v, ( 2 )KG 2.2's, The receiver and the subwoofer. I do not think any home theater in a box can compare. These are the only KG's I have heard or owned, I still would choose the KG2 as my favorite. They have moved with me probably a dozen times and still sound great.
  5. I currently run KG2 as my fronts with KG 2.2v for a center and KG2.2's for the rear. I love the set-up. I had to turn up the center channel on the receiver since the KG2's were overpowering the 2.2v slightly. I was actually looking for some KG4's to add a bit more punch and I was going to move the 2's to the back but I purchased an old Velodyne Sub and now I have all the punch I need. During some action sequences I can hear the screens shaking in the windows. I do still cruze craigslist for some kg4's, 4.2's or 5.2's in oiled oak.
  6. I have the 46" Samsung 630 and I just love it. I got it last Feb at BB for around $1,300. I am sure you can get it closer to 1k now. It is the 120hz model.
  7. So I have often wondered about what is the speaker heiarchy with Klipsch. I currenlty have KG speakers and beleive they are probably somewhere near the bottom of the list of Klipsch speakers. Si I am wondering what is the heiarchy. Lets say a multipurpose speaker for home theater mains or music.
  8. Thanks for the suggestions. I have to admit right now I am having allot of fun with the subwoofer. I probably need to turn it down a bit more but I am loving the rummble.
  9. So I now have my KG based surround sound running and I just love it. When I got the subwoofer I followed everyones recommendations and went out and rented U571 and it was amazing. I actually blew out my surround, they were about 15 years old, but I have replaced that now. I am ready for some more recommendations. I am looking for something that will both give the surround sound a workout along with the subwoofer. I have Enemy at the Gate on its way now with Netflix but would love to fill up my Queue with great sounding movies. I have not made the jump to blu-ray yet!! In Feb my wife was convinced our old 27"TV was good enough and I finally convinced her to just let me look at TV's. Seven months later I had a new TV and added surround receiver, 3 more speakers and a subwoofer. The Blu-ray should be added by Christmas.
  10. Ok I am going to expose myself as completely lacking knowledge. So here is my question, my kg2's say they have 4 ohm impedence and my center and rears are 2.2v and 2.2's and they say they have 8 ohm impedence. I have a switch on the back that I had to select based on the impedence of my speakers. I seem to be OK since it says to put the switch to the left if the impedence of my fronts are 4ohms or higher and my center and surrounds are 6 ohms and higher. How important is this and what if I had another set of KG2's that I used for rear speakers would they work? I appreciate any responses to clear this up for me.
  11. I love the sub, but I already blew out the foam surround. The replacement is on its way and it will be back up and running again in days.
  12. Thanks, That thread was for the exact same problem on the exact same speaker.
  13. I just picked up an old Velodyne 1215 subwoofer. I love the sound but last night I noticed about 4 inches of the foam rubber surrounf had come loose from the speaker. Is that something I can just re-glue or is that terminal? I am guessing because the sub is from 1995 the glue that originally held it just let go.
  14. Thanks for all the responses. I hooked it up last night and ran to the video store and rented U-571. It was amazing. Ever time a depth charge went off I thought it was hitting my house. It also really added the base punch to my music also. When I went to the 5 speaker set-up I lost some of the base I was getting out of my old 2 channel yamaha receiver. I got that back now and then some. I still probably need to turn it down more, but for now I will enjoy it.
