  3. Hi Guys; Those are KLIPSCH KP 450 LF, low freq boxes. They precede the 904s by 25 years. They are the same box. JoeyB KP 600
  4. Hi Bobby; If you are intrested in selling the KP-3002s E-Mail me @ jophise @comcast.net as I would be intrested !!!! Thanks Joey B KP600
  5. Hin Guys; Anybody that tells you that Klipsch Pro speakers are not up to the task is talking BULLSH** !!!! I have been using Klipsch Industrial and Pro Speakers since 1978. I also recone many EAW-JBL-EV-Cerwin Vega-QSC and many others for many of the Pro Sound Co. in the New England area. The drivers are TRASHED when I see them. If you need more output you need more amps and speakers. Any speaker system driven beyond its limit will fail and fail HARD. I use a 24 box KP 600 system and can do 15000 to 20000 people outdoors Heavy Rock and Roll. I would need 36 boxes of EAW 850 series to do the same gig. The EAW 850 Series was the best selling arena box bar none. Forget Line Arrays I am not a fan at all. To much money for not alot of quality output. Sorry 2X10 in. bass drivers in a small cab is not a 2X15 in horn loaded KP 600 LF. I just used this same rig to do Egiye Castrillo and His 16 piece Latin Jazz Big Band ( very powerfull ) and Arlo Guthrie at the same event in a football stadium in Framingham Ma. On OcT. 10, 2010. The complements on the sound of the system doing the two totally different types of music were fantastic. These 20 (yes 20) year old speakers will hurt you, even at 400 feet. There are some great systems out there but to write off KLIPSCH Pro they made the best sounding horn loaded boxes on the planet. BAR NONE !!!!!! Thanks for reading my ramble Joey B KP 600
  6. Good Job Mike; The reason I joined the forum at the time was there were so many questions going unanswered. But after I joined I met so many great people as yourself, I am the same as everyone, there has been no sound system that ever impressed me as the Klipsch line of home and pro gear. I go back 30 years with the company and I know I became a pain it their sides with my many calls about improvements in the pro line. I also would not call it " sun setter tech " , My KP 600 system is 20 years old and there is still not a concert system that sounds like a ton of K horns on steriods with subs!!! Good luck in all you do and remember all else is BULLSH**. Joey B KP 600
  7. Hi; I have a 24 box KP 600 system and if you think Klipschorns sound fantastic then you will need to hold on!!!!! Forget what they say about Line arrays sounding like studio monitors this system is totally HI-FI at low or ear bleeding volumes. If you need help with your speaker you can e-mail me at home at jophise@comcast.net. Good luck Joey B KP600
  8. DjK Hi; That kit looks like it was made MWA Speaker parts, we use MWA parts for recones all the time, they are far cheaper than original parts and perform as well if not better than original!! We also use factory parts . The MWA cones and spiders are original as there is only a few manufactures of cones and spiders that all companys purchase from. MWA also winds voice coils to spec that are as good as original. The way the glue joint looks it seems that the reconer just did a bad job on the recone. When we recone a speaker the glue joint at the spider to coil and cone to spider and coil is completely together on the outside of the coil and is also glued on the inside under the dust cap area at the union of the vioce coil and cone. We also put a glue joint on the underside of the spider at the spider to coil joint, even if there was not one from the factory!! This we do for all Pro Audio Speakers. That joint will not fail. If anyone needs any help with recones we do it all. Contact me at home at 978-343-9343 Thanks Joey B KP 600, Thanks
  9. Hi Randy; I am a Klipsch Pro Dealer and I believe I have an original cut sheet on the KP - 2000 - C. E Mail me your address and I will send you a copy. My home E Mail is jophise@comcast.net. Thanks Joey B KP600
  10. Hi there; Community has been around for quite a while and they make very good speakers, many that are taylored for certain apps. You may want to drop a line to Thackmate on the on the Klipsch Forum under Pro and Touring as he used to work for them after Klipsch WWR went down. He may be able to give you more info. One cool system they made in the 90s was called the Air Force System for large scale reinforcement. I still am partial to Klipsch because nobody horn loads like klipsch and their viocing is the best. While I think the KP 600 system is the best sounding arena system ever produced it was never improved upon for future systems, it does have its limitations and there are many many very good large scale systems on the market today. Thanks Joey B KP 600
  11. Hi Bobby; These diaphragms are 8 ohm or 16 ohm for the Altec 288s. Why don' t you call me at home @ 978-343-9343 and leave message or if i am home I will pick up and we can talk about payment . I will be home this eve. Thank you Joey B.
  12. Hi Bobby; Sorry you did not get the E-mail, I tried to do it from my E-mail reply. I guess that does not work, so I will respond from the Forum from now on !! Original ALTEC diaphragms retail for $ 140.00 ea. I can sell them to you for $ 125.00 ea. If you wanted to go with a very high quality aftemarket diaphragm I could sell them to you for $ 65.00 each. We replace diaphragms all the time in these and many types of drivers because they sound as good as the original, they are newer technology and cost less than half the money. They should go right in. If you have neve done a diaph replacement , take it to someone who is qualified or send them to me. The gap MUST BE CLEAN !! I can also check for rubs after replacement and do a sine sweep test to insure the driver is ready to go. As for the adaptors, I myself do not know of any, although that does not mean that they are not produced. If you need help respond to my home E-mail at jophise@comcast.net and I will get you going. Good luck JoeyB KP600
  13. Hi Bobby; I replied to your post with info on the diaphragms from my e mail. Let me know if you did not recieve it. Thanks Joey B KP600
  14. Hey Ian; Just wanted to say Hi, and hope all is well. Joey Brogna Northeast Sound in Ma.
  15. Dear Bob; You can use the drivers in parallel mono with your EV amp on one side. But be carefull not to drive them to hard. You might want to use a compressor-limiter on that amp out to protect your hi drivers. Also I would cross them over on the low side no lower than 800 hz to 1 Khz,below 800 that diaphgram is working. Good luck Joey B KP600
  16. Dear Sir; Tom is correct for the money a used pair of Cornwalls is a great choice. If you could find a used pair of Klipsch CP-1s they were the pro version of the Cornwalls, hence (CP-1, Cornwall pro-1 ) these were one of the flatest speskers that Klipsch ever produced. I still like the 450s and 456s if you can stand the pro look in your house! Don' t let only 300 watts input scare you. The only speaker that comes even close to this model is the EAW FR 253 which has 2x15 in lows, 2x 8" low mids and a 1" high horn. Its specs were 129 1/2 db out for 600 watts in--- The klipsch was 129 1/2 db out for 300 watts in. a ton more efficent. Also the Klipsch was 2 way and less interaction between drivers. If you call me @ 978-343-9343 I will explian how the passive crossover network worked in this system. There is a network in the hi cab and also in the low. Good luck Joey B KP600
  17. Dear Sir I own 8 fo them and both versions are fantastic for many different audio needs. The k-60 Driver in the 450 version is no longer avail from klipsch, but is really an EV-DH-1506 driver and diaph replacements are obtainable from reconers like myself or from EV. The 456 version uses the 1123 driver in the HF. The 90 deg.Horizontal HF makes the system very intelligable way offaxis. The LF is really a medium throw box so don' t try to use it for any long throw apps. BUT !! take the Hi horn off both cabs and push the Low cabs together and put the Hi horns on top of thr 2 low cabs in the middle one on top of the other and HOLD ON !!!!! If you need more info you can call me @ 978-343-9343 God luck and if you don' t want them let me know I might. Thank you Joey B KP600
  18. Dear Sir; To recone that K-48-K it is about $90.00, we recone all klipsch drivers and we have the kits in stock. E-mail me at jophise@comcast.net . and I will give you shipping info. You can recieve them back within 2 weeks. I am in Massachusetts and I am a Klipsch pro dealer and use all klipsch speakers in my sound co. Northeast Sound. Thank You JoeyB KP 600
  19. Dear Sir; I own a 24 box KP 600 system and if you need some info e mail me at jophise@comcast .net as i have info on this system. The system was very expensive to build an is made of fiberglass and mylar over a balsa core. the sub and low cabs are tuned above and below their resonant frequency. Klipsch at one point I believe lost money on each sale. But I can tell this is hands down the best sounding arena system ever made, even to date!!!! The detail in the mid high at low volume and at earbleading levels is just amazing. To bad the powers that be at Klipsch desided that they did not want go forward with updated designes because there were many, based on the input from RAM Sound in Florida and myself Northeast Sound in Massachusetts. Hope I can help you. Joey B KP600
  20. Dear Sir; Ths correct model # for the 15 in. sub is Klipsch KP 115 or KP 115 AGX. The AGX indicates a sub with a passave crossover network. The sub uses a K-48 E or the newer K-48 EP II. If you would like a copy of the original spec. sheet -- E-mail me @ jophise@comcast .net Good luck Joey B KP 600
  21. Dear Sirs; I talked to Rodger Gordon the other day on his purchase from Dave on the KP 600s, I have an extra KP 600 EC xover I am going to sell him. I have a 24 box KP 600 system, 8 complete stacks that I use with my sound co. And just to tell you how efficent these speakers are I would need a 36 box system of EAW 850s do do the same job. The EAW 850 series if you don' t know was with out a doubt the most used touring system ever. It also was 3 times as heavy as the KP 600s. I am from MA. and EAW is an hour away from me and a great co. But side by side the KP 600 is still the one!! To bad it was not developed any further. Bob at RAM Sound and myself had many improvements that we talked to Klipsch about for future versions of that system but sadly after Klipsch took over WWR Tech intrest the System of Systems went away. Hope Rodger sets them up correct because he will have one HELL OF A STEREO SYSTEM !!!! Thanks Joey B KP 600
  22. Dear Jim; If you are cracking the glue joint at the dust cap you will likely have damage also on the back side of the voice coil from it slamming into the back plate of the speaker. This long excursion and stretching is forcing the dust cap apart from the top side of the vioce coil pushing into it. You need to look at the bass boost you are using. The old HIP Industrial Heresys can take more of a pounding in the low freq side. I am a speaker reconer and can put you in the right direction. As for youe question the magnet is different on the K 22 as compared to the K 42. If you need help you can e-mainl me or call me at home at 978-343-9343. Thanks Joey b Northeast Sound Ma
  23. Thanks for the reply. I am an potimist I started with La Scalas, then to 3 way MCMs and then on to 4 way MCMs and finally to KP 600s. I really do like the product. I also recone and with Klipsch not offering recone parts any more we have had to go to the aftermarket. Case in point original K 45s in the KP 450s, original cones are scarse. I know the new K45 ep II is availible but some people are pureists and they want original parts. Replacing a K 42E stamped frame driver in a pro Heresy or 201 with a later cast frame K 42 E or K42 KP it does not fit the original grille. Its a shame I can get parts for a 1960 K Horn but not parts from a Klipsch made 5 years ago. I only say this because I do LOVE the pro products to a fault. Don' t forget when you install a 100K theatre sound system, that system will be in use for 15 to 20 years. When you sell pro speakers to Rock and Roll or the live industry you get repair and part sales for many years. I am repairing KP 320s now for a DJ. Anyway thanks for reply KP 600 the system ef systems!!!!!! Thanks Joey B
  24. Hi Guys; As you know all I use is Klipsch speakers in my sound co. 24 box KP 600 system and so on! But if you are going to call it pro audio you should be in the pro audio business !! Klipsch pro audio has come and gone many times in the past number of years. We pro dealers do not know weather we are comming or going. To try to talk to someone of knowledge at Klipsch these days about speakers made even 5 years ago is like pulling teeth !!! We have no support on serious speakers like the KP 600 or the KP 450s or 456s. These were not your run of the mill MI box, these were very costly systems. I am only writing this because I LOVE the product. Nobody horn loads like KLIPSCH!!!!! PLEASE BRING PRO BACK. JOEY B KP 600
  25. Hi Guys The KP 450 HF Section with the K 60 driver ( EV DH 1506 ) is a two in" exit coupled to a 85 % horizontal flair horn. Allthough I agree with you that most all 2 way speaker suffer in some respect with intelligability, compromises must be made when designing hi output speakers. The KP 450 originally was a speaker with 129.5 db output for 300 watts input. The only speaker that came close to that at the time or even now was the EAW FR 253. That was 129.5 db spl output for 600 watts input. The EAW was also very directional. Also the 8" low mid cone driver was prone to failure ,I reconed tons of them for local bands, and the RCF components were not cheap. Go figure which one I would want to own?? The KP 450s horn was capible of intelligability at 90% off axis.Put 2 KP 450s on top of 2 KP 480 subs, remove the KP 450 HFs and center them on top of the 2 KP 450 LFs one on top of the other and that Horizontal coverage extends to over 100% solid and the output is stupid loud and punchy. The KP 450 ia also a medium throw speaker system, if you need longer throw get a longer throw speaker design, of which KLIPSCH has many. As for using the KP 450 for bands in a club you cannot do any better without carrying a ton of gear! 2 sets of these speakers in any club that is not to deep will ROCK! I own 8 450s and rent 2 on a weekly basis to 2 DJ and I have been RENTING these from me for 20 yrs and they will not use anything else. If you need any more info feel free to call me @ 978-343-9343 Thanks Joey B
