  1. Hello Bruce thanks, i actually dont miss the lowest bass till now to be honest the LS II has much more lower bass than the first edition ( i also have owned fot several years) Imho. Now i'm not sure i will add a sub because the speed of the hornbass is very hard to follow i think when playing music with a drumkit the speed is tremendous and very "dry". I don't like muddy drums Koos
  2. Hello everyone is it a good idea to lift LaScala's from the floor, perhaps to create more low bass. i have also read that there are modifications that made it possible to create more low bass with the existing LaScala, does anyone perhaps have those modifications on paper? Till now i am enyojing the music that comes out of the LS, i am still "burning them in" (still 50 hours to go from the 100 hours Klipsch advices). What is the best way to burnin anyway? Thanks in forhand for te reactions (i learn a lot of them) best regard Koos
  3. Hello wvu80 is that sub fast enough to hold on with the LaScala?
  4. Hi pbphoto thanks, that really will help, i am going to start with the position you mentioned and see what it brings. is your Rythmic f12g fast enough for the LaScala ? They are very pricy i saw (i would like to use 2 subs, one on every side) and not for sale in the Netherlands (or Europe) are there other subs (not horn ones because i cannot place them) that are fast enough you think/lnow?
  5. Hello everyone. ik have a question about placement of my new LaScala II. For getting te maximum result in lower tones, is it then best to put the back against a wall? Imnow have toe them in for around 20 % towards my listeningposition . They cannot be placed in corners. thanks again for the suggestions koos
  6. And which klipsch sub are you talking about. The r112sw ?
  7. I am curious Is it so that a 10 inch is much faster than a greater one? The faster the sub is the better it fits with the LaScala i think or am i mistaken?
  8. When i don't want to shake the house but i still like een good bass is it better then to use 2 times a 10 inch woofer (each side one) than one 15 inch? Or is 12 inch the minimum for a good solid but not house shaing bass? i don't necessarely need 20 hz. 30 is also good for me (i think) in use with my Lascala II the rythmic F12G. seems a very nice products but i not get it shipped tot the Netherlands (it seems) what do you think of the Klipsch reference woofers. 12 or 10 inch ? Okay to use i should i fix them with more weight (lead or so) ?
  9. Are there other Klipsch subwoofers which are compatible with the LS II? The Heritage is 15 inch and i think thats to much for me.( in my room, for sound and space) i better look for two 12 or 10 inch ( each side one sub) to add. which one would then be best, you all think? best regards Koos
  10. Thanks AVGUYTX i thought so, i was trying to get is loose but didn't work so i stopped before i broke something i will look from out the back op the top koos
  11. Hello Bruce i surely will give it a honest try, icertainly don't want to reduce the mid. I want (a bit) more bass for a more coherent soundimage i go and look the new heritage subwoofer (if it comes for sale in the Netherlands for a reasonable price otherwise i look for a good replacement for that sub but first, i go listen for several weeks to my new LSII thanks for the support the love for Klipsch is (still) great in this forum, glad to be a member
  12. Hello does anybody knows how to remove the grille from tte top. There is a very nice border arond the clothes but i don't want to break it while trying to remove. Or is there something inside that holds them anybody suggestions?
  13. Hello everyone i see your points and i am very impressed. The more i think about it the more i see you are right and i think that if i had seen this projectthougts myself on the forum a time ago i probably had react te same as you. This is what i am going to do: first i'm going to listen for a while to the set, as it is brand new it need playtime to give the sound a good change when i think i still need more bass i can always add a (good and fast ) sub. Which is the best (of couse from Klipsch) for adding to the laScala II. ? All best regards Koos
  14. Hello DizRotus (and others) Considdering your concern I have looked inside myself (as a true Klipsch admirer) since your reply. I never had a LaScala II at the end of my stereo equipment so i don;t know what i will miss (or not) i first will give it (the Lascala II) a honest change to prove if i am wrong about the bass that it can (or cannot) produce in the opposite of the Cornwall or the Lascala I. The Cornwall is right now my speakerset for the Lascala II is a completely new set i must be patience in the beginning i think i let you (all) know what the result is (for me) My equipment is. Leak stereo20 tube amplifier and Point one stereo pre, both fully revised as out of factory), ibook pro with external dsd/dac, cables form Entreq, audirvana player best regards Koos
  15. Hello DizRotus i see your concern (also about desinvestment) about remaining in value. b But I go further with my project in the way i think its gonna be the best way to make a Cornscala. 2/3 bassbin and 1/3 mid and high in seperate closures. but anyway. Thanks for your concern. I will do my best to keep the Klipsch Thought as much as possible in my project but the Lascala lacks bass to much and i dont have space for a subwoofer. greetings
  16. Hi Full Range, i only make the bassbin a single driver speaker. So i use the greatest box of the Lascala II and rebuild that to a direct radiated one (like the bass form the Cornwall). .The top of the Lascala i will use as that is. And that top is coming (when everything is finest) again on top of the bassbin. So i (think) i have the ultimate Cornscala build then. from the bassbin i remove the horn (trangle) zo i get a square box, then i make a new front motherboard with reflexports (2 ) beneath of beside/down the woofer. I dont know i i also make frames fot teh bassbin (otherwise i order it at Crites (not exactly the same but close) i am thinking of replace the 77 tweeter for the Crites CT120. (I have that in my Khorns and that sounds good) but i can always replace that. thanks for the tip aboud damping. I will experience a lot but i start only with the motherboard
  17. Nice work, Are you also going to use damping material inside the box? And, if so, are you going to use it on al panels (including motherboard?) In my bassbin i am going to avoid as much as possible to have straigt corners, i want to make them as round or flat as possible because i think that the soundwave is thereby transported much more rapidly to the reflex openings. And we need speed to keep upthe sound beam of the top, i think keep going. I think you speakers are becoming awesome good in phisical and technical meaning
  18. Hello, i have puchased a set of Lascala II last weekend. Before i have had Lascala I and now i have the Cornwall's playing in the room. in another much greater room i have Klipschorn's playing, First i had them in a (too) snall room but i couldn't get the sound right. (Not two good corners) now i want to play with the Lascala II but i like the bass from te Cornwall therefore i want to rebuild the bassbin from the Lascala II and make it a direct radiating one like the cornwall. The top of the Lascala II will be left (and used, perhaps another tweeter, the Crites ct120) as it is. But i am making a new bass/woofer motherboard and two bassreflex ports underneath the woofer position furthermore i reuse the existing crossover so the only thing i have to do is rebuild the bass bin. So in the end i have the very smooth and nice mid and high fronm the Lascala and the deep and very nice bass from the Cornwall. are there any suggestions that i have to take care for ? nice regards Koos (Netherlands)
  19. I think that there is a lot to benefit in cables. When i take a look in amplifiers, crossover etc i mostly see thin copper cable innthere. Whenni see what factories want us to belief of thick cables between amplifier and speakers them i cannot see what benefit those have when the internal cables is still of the thin kind. Sometimes the speakercable re a wrist thick and from silver/gold I am curious what is the best to make thick. The internal or he external cables. And wht effect would tht have on the sound. What you also see on the market is that there are factories who are (again) experience with full copper, so not many hear thin any more but copper kernel cable. I believe in the last ones All that must also have effect on crossover cable to the drivers. I dont think that is a fairytale Koos
  20. I don,t know much about cross overs but i also think that the ALK universal is an improvement for the la scala.s I dont know what the best is. A Crites or an ALK Per haps there are other crossovers that a even better then the mentioned ones I am also very curious what more i can upgrade on the la scala,s, perhaps the cables or so I dont know. Koos
  21. Hello Bruce I have type 1 of the la scala.s. With a al3 crossover and all standard speakers. I mean as they come out of the factory at that time I am looking fot the universal version of the ALK as a replacement for the AL3's. I read about them on theninternet and they look a good upgrade to me. I dont want he extreme version because i read that it would be better then to replace the tweeters and that what i dont want because parts of klipsch are very hard to get in the Netherlands I rarely play very loud but have an amplifier that is capable to do that if necessary. I use a Airtight ATM2 as amplifier. The combination la scala/. Airtight is very good but i asume that there is always a inprovement to achieve. Greetings Koos
  22. Thanks very much Chris for the answer. I am already trying the possibilities Have you or has anyone experience with new networks for the la scala,s ? I read a lot about replacement from Crites but also thatbthe ALK are very good. I am not a very good technician so waht would be the best to use to upgrade my la scala,s Greetings Koos
  23. Hello everyone i have change from house and i am curious if I can place my La scala,s with there back to the wall it is a straight wall and they are about 3 1/2 meters apart standing from each others measured from the middle of the front or should i turn in them a little there is only a sidewall at the rigth within a distance of 1 meter left is plenty of room but there is a opposite wall at 4 meters distance in a quarter to half the spreading sound area see forward to the answers greetings Koos
  24. Thanks. I,m sure my pleasure with the LaScala,s Will grown for à long time. Perhaps in THE futere a pair of updates but i dont known witch and when. But i,m learning from you all. À very nice community this is I am surprised to see That so many people love THE Klipsch heritage products .In THE netherlands in,s à crime to Find a proper technical klipsch dealer of distributor since THE distribution network is in hands of à very lang company. Witch is not. Fitted for à good technical problemen with THE heritage line Therefore i,m happy That i found this community Thans again
