  1. I purchased new caps from Bob Crites and soldered them in my Cornwall 1's. It was well worth it, my speakers are like new again. Go for it, you will not be disappointed. Good luck, twins0649
  2. What is a fair price for La Scalas (LS-BB s/N 6P312 and 6P680)? They were modified with an amplifier for a church organ. Finish is black. The asking price is $500/each. Thanks in advance. twins0649
  3. Hello Klipsch enthusiasts, I contacted tech support about mounting RB 10's to the wall with a small mounting bracket. They did not have any engineering drawings to tell me how close the speakers were to the back rear panel on the speaker, nor how thick the rear panel was. Does anyone have experience mounting RB 10"s? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance, twins0649
  4. Ave Bona Cornwall, Thank you for your response. I will try to locate the KLF-C7 or Academy center channel on CL or Ebay. One more question. When were they produced? I have seen the Academy for sale but not the KLF-C7. Best regards, twins0649
  5. HT experts, I need your help. I am using a pair of CW1's with BEC sonicaps. This system will be used 50% for HT and 50% for music listening. I need your input for a center channel and sub. I do not have room for another CW or Heresy as a center channel. Any suggestions? Any recommendations on a decent sub? Will I need a sub with the CW1's for HT use? Thank you in advance, twins0649
  6. Harry O, Thank you for your reply. I need the steel hardware, no shelves, to rack mount a Crown DC-300A amp and Crown IC-150 pre amp. These will be driving Cornwall I's. I can run the Crown continuously, and it never even gets warm. Can you guide me to some sites for the steel frame work for rack mounts? I also have a Thorens TC-160 turn table that I want to build into the cabinet with the rack mount. Thanks, twins0649
  7. Hello Technical Experts, Can anyone reccommed a source of rack mounting kits for a two channel stereo? This would be built into a cabinet for a Crown amplifier, Crown pre-amp, Thorens turntable, and Sony DVD-CD player. Do I need to consider some type of fan cooling for the cabinet? Please advise sources of quiet cooling fans. Thanks in advance for your information. twins0649
  8. Hello all, How close would Cornwalls need to be placed to an LCD TV to cause shielding interference? I would like to bi amp them to both a Crown amp and an AVR (Model yet to be determined?). The CW would be used for 2 channel music listening and hopefully biamped to the avr for HT use. Thank you in advance to all that respond. Thanks, twins0649
  9. Hello all, Is it possible to achieve a happy balance between 2 channel listening and HT. I have Klipsch Cornwall I's driven by Crown IC150 preamp and Crown DC 300A amp. I am in a quandry if I should sell the Crown and Cornwalls or integrate them into a HT environment. The Crown gear is strictly 2 channel. I have a chance to purchase La Scalas, would they be better for dual use in HT and 2 channel listening? After 30+ years, I still love the Heritage speaker line. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, twins0649 .
  10. Thanks for your information. I opened up the back of one of the Cornwalls. The motorboard is screwed and caulked to the speaker box. I presume it would be wise to remove all the speakers and crossover before trying to remove the motorboard, correct? Is the grill cloth attached to a piece of masonite? Does the motorboard hod the grill cloth in place?? I wanted to get a better idea before I tear into this. Thank you, twins0649
  11. Hello all, I have a set of Cornwall I's Serial # 3L007 and 3L008. They currently have a Klipsch riser attached to the speaker bottoms. If I removed the riser, would there be any sound quality problem by laying them over on one side? Thank you for your information in advance,, twins0649
  12. Thank you for the information. twins0649
  13. Hello all, I need to replace the grills on my Cornwall I speakers. Does anyone have tips or suggestions? Thank you, twins0649
  14. Hello all, I have learned alot from this forum and wanted to thank all the contributors for their expertise. I am the origional owner of Cornwall I's Serial # 3L007 and 3L008. I have driven them with a Crown IC 150 preamp and DC300 A since they were new. Does anyone have suggestions on how to improve them? Should I change out the crossovers with Crites? Are there any suggestions in room placement for them? The room they will be located in is approximately 12 x 18, the room is down to studs and plywood subfloor for extensive remodeling. I also have a Thorens TD 160 turntable, any suggestions as to where to obtain a replacment stereo cartridge that will fit the Thorens? Any reccommendations for a specific cartidge would also be appreciated. Thanks you in advance for your comments. Regards, twins0649
