  1. Chances are fair that the harddrive in the computer is ok even if the machine won't light. A good computer guy can tell you for sure. If they can't access the drive it will have to go to a recovery service which is pricey. You'll have to decide if what's on the drive is worth the money. I've used Gillware several times with good results. They will do a free estimate. Mostly what I've done for the past 38 years has been replacing and restoring harddrives. It's not a matter of if you're going to have a harddrive failure, it's a matter of when. Your when may have just happened. You are only as good as your last backup. Backup drives are cheap insurance and the process is automatic on modern operating systems. If you're a Mac user I may be able to help. I don't do Windoze.
  2. Well worth the time they take to view. A lawyer's perspective, a cop's perspective and a constitutional overview Don't Talk to Cops, Part 1 - YouTube Don't Talk to Cops, Part 2 - YouTube 10 Rules for Dealing with Police (Full-Length) - YouTube
  3. Good choice on the 72. I think in the long run it will be considered significant as the last year for hidden wipers, chrome bumpers on both ends, functional rear vents, removeable rear window and a decent compression ratio. Enjoy. A buddy of mine sold my green 72 for me in 82 and told the buyer that, obviously the odo had rolled over as it showed around 50K. He neglected to mention that it had rolled over twice. Sold it for the $5000 I'd paid for it. Went thru a lot of half-shaft u-joints, rear spindles and bearings and rear spring main leaves until I switched to a fiberglass rear spring. It was my IBM service vehicle and would push thru deep snow like no other vehicle I've owned.
  4. I've bought a bunch of things from NPS and the shipping charges are normally pretty reasonable but that did stand out to me too.

  6. 1 Pair Klipsch IC 525 T in Ceiling 2 Way Loudspeakers 5 25" White | eBay I have bought numerous items from this outfit and have always been pleased. Shipping seems somewhat higher than their norm which is usually reasonable.

    Hawk Attack

I normally have an infestation of bald eagles but the nest down behind me is unoccupied this summer. We've kind of reached an agreement where if I shoot a coyote that's too close to the house, they'll clean it up. Right now the hummingbirds are thick and I may have to spray for them soon.
  9. While you're there check the alternator too. Have a friend w/ an 05 and the pump and alt went at the same time, seems like was about 110K miles.
  10. Tromprof met me for a handoff of a LaScala that fit nicely in his Prius and had to be shoehorned into the trunk of my Crown Vic. Years ago when I asked here whether a pair of Khorns would fit in a Dodge minivan, one reply was "why wouldn't you just use 6X9's?" I knew at that point I'd be at home here
  11. Get it legal before you fly and get you legal if you use it commercially. It logs its flights and will tell where it was and when. Took a DJI 3 Pro to Belize in January and knocked out that USA 400 foot altitude limit to get some more expansive shots. 13. Went to see Marshall Crenshaw a few weeks ago at an old downtown theater in Burlington Iowa. The sound for the warm-up band (his band) was terrible, vocals were lost. He came on after a break and after 3 songs we walked. Guitar mix was painful and vocals were still lost. Many moons ago I ran sound and lights for several bands and know how it can work so bad experiences, crowds of humans and Klipsch speakers at home have put me off live music.
  14. Favorite cut of mine. Enough fat around those eyes to keep it moist and dark meat has more flavor than the white of the loin. I dust with garlic, rosemary and thyme. It's usually cut thin so cook it hot and fast to not dry it out.
  15. Klipsch La Scala Pair Circa 1975 | eBay Was this ever a factory style or have they been de-horned (butchered) by removing the center splitter in the bass bin?

There are over 30 infernal combustion engines in the shed, hangar and 2 airplane engines in the spare bedroom (the wife was ex'd).
  17. I lost all audio on my TX-NR5007 receiver last week. It gave a nasty electronic bzzorrp on power up and I restarted it and it was fine but that was the last time it worked. Last night I luckily surfed directly to this page: Support | Onkyo USA It seems there are many different models that have a defective chip in the network section which will cause a wide variety of problems. Tip of the hat to Onkyo for sending owners a prepaid box to ship this 60 pounder back for service. They have also extended the warranty into 2018 to cover this issue. I bought mine in June of 2010 on Amazon. There is an alternate plan of giving a $225 credit towards new replacement instead of repair. Now to take pictures of the spaghetti. Update: FedEx delivered a box on Monday the 25th and I shipped it back that afternoon. Receiver was back on Wednesday the 27th and seems to be just fine.
  18. Done, they are closed in Dave: Just want to be sure what 'they are closed in' means. Just because the backs are closed does not mean that they don't have to be in corners. Also the closed backs should be sealed at the top of the base bin to the corner with a triangle that would measure about 6.5 x 6.5 x 9 1/4". This was incorporated in later Khorns. Also don't forget 3rd path - Bob Crites - solid, economical upgrades

  22. Done. But Ripple Maker? Really? Mechanical foam art? There's a contraction for that but I just can't quite . . . Best Wishes Amy
  23. Have my first accepted bid waiting for pickup now. Process and cost were good, pickup got put off due to carrier getting overloaded by a prior pickup but I'm in no rush so it wasn't a problem. The system really seems to leave the carrier at the mercy of pickup/unload. I have 3 large antique pieces to go to Colorado. Put it up one night and had 3 bids the next morning. I would think a couple of speakers could be economical and safe. They have several levels of care. Without boxes you'd probably want one of the top two - blanket wrap or white glove. When the bid is accepted by you, you get a code from uShip that you give to the carrier when things are done so then they get paid by uShip. My shipment is resched for after the 1st of the year.
  24. 97 Merc Grand Marquis rolled 150K on Thanksgiving on the way to Mom's house. It was her car and she gave it to me 10 years ago w/ 20K on it. Took it from Illinoyed to Colorado a month ago and drifted it around some back country mountain roads - nothing like the torque of a V-8 and rear wheel drive for fun. Oil, tires, brakes, a couple of rusted out brake lines, Bilsteins and exhaust, manifold to mufflers is all it's ever required. It's so good that this summer I picked up another to have in reserve. 2010 Crown Vic Police Interceptor w/ 126K, spent its life w/ one Illinois State Trooper. So nice it's not going out in the winter salt. I'll be the guy we hate to meet on the highway. Creeps me out just seeing it parked out back.
