  1. A second hand Conrad-Johnson PV-AL is one of the nicest & cleanest sounding line stages around .Highly recommended .
  2. Dear john, Is there a big difference in bass quality between your EV Patrician vs Khorn?
  3. Thanks guys, a friend offered me his decca/kelly ribbons, did you ever listened to a pair of those or have their specifications?I heared that they are considered among the best, what do you think? regards, Guy. ------------------
  4. Usually modified Mac/Marantz gear worth less for collectors and you should buy it cheaper.Soundwise mit multicaps tend to harden the sound as I experienced with my 8B after replacing some old capacitors with modern ones it became thin and hard sounding so I recommend audition in your own system if possible.
  5. I never listened to them but I know that it is almost impossible to find replacement tubes(8045) for them, otherwise if I'm not mistaken they were designed by Tim De Paravicini which design & manufacture Esoteric Audio Research products in England.
  6. I've made an L shape from a thick copper stripe, drilled a hole at both ends, connected a modern binding post to one end, screwed the other to the Xover(make 2 for each speaker), now it's easier to experiment with cables.
  7. Forgot to mention that I'm using ALK crossovers so output matching probably can be dealt with.
  8. If it's gonna be your first ever tube amp,I'll say the newer the better. The C-J mv55/pv10 combo should fit nicely.
  9. Hi folks, I wonder if anyone ever tried other tweeters with their khorns etc. and if so,which gave the best result.I'm thinking about buying ev t-350's ,any comments? Thanks Guy.
  10. I don't remember by whom mine were shipped, but the plastic stripes that hold the inductors were all thorn (I think UPS).
  11. If you do decide to build it,follow Al's plan, the placement of the inductors is the most important(as I've learned while building a mastering lab X'over for my father's altec 604's)
  12. If you do deside to build it,follow Al's plan, the placement of the inductors is the most important(as I've learned while building a mastering lab X'over for my father's altec 604's)
  13. Instead, put some money aside and save for the real mccoy, they worth every penny.I've been using Al's X'overs for 2 months and gaind the bigest improvement-much clearer highs, tighter bass, better soundstage & resulution. Absoloutly a must for every khorn owner. Good luck,Guy
