  1. It sounds good if I plug into the speaker out, but is says to plug into line out. Will anything happen if I plug into the speaker out? I am using an old SoundBlaster 16. I was going to wait for the Audigy, but now I am considering just buying the Acoustic Edge now. I don't like the Santa Cruz. I like creatives because they will work with default drivers and just have always liked their products and I don't think Phillips can nail the quality and drivers with their first product. So, I was planning to wait to upgrade to the Audigy, or maybee the new cards from Phillips or Turtle Beach. Anyway, if this SB16 is my problem, should I just upgrade to the Acoustic Edge now? Could this be my problem? How much louder will the Acoustic Edge be?
  2. I just got my promedias today. Hooked them up and was expecting to be blown away. They are extremely weak. I turn them up almost all the way and its still nowhere close to how loud I listen to music. True, I like my music loud, but something isn't right. 400W Where you at? I was reading the troubleshooting guide and it says to make sure the amplifier main power switch is engaged. I thought they meant the speaker switch on the control pod, but it also says that. That is something else. Where is this amplifier main power switch? What else could be wrong?

  4. I'm building my dream system one part at a time. I want a great sound card and dont want to let price be a factor in my decision. I just want a great card, regardless of the cost. Well I take that back, nothing ridiculous. For now, it's just music for me. I mainly listen to MP3z. I am planning on getting the Klipsch Promedia 4.1 There is no doubt in my mind these are the best computer speakers ever, come on, they are THX certified, what other computer speaker can say that. So what do you use, especially if you have the Promedias? How do you like them? Any opinions on the SB Live, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz or the Philips Acoustic Edge? What about the audiphile 2426? I am using Win 2K. Any problems with that on any of this? I have heard good things about the acoustic edge, but a sound card from Phillips? I have a tough time imagining that will be any good? And what about quality? I am a loyal creative customer and still like their products? I hate dealing with drivers. How are the drivers for these cards? I know the SoundBlaster should be backwards compatible which I love. What about the acoustic edge and the Santa Cruz? The audiphile? Can you say driver issues? The SoundBlaster just seems old. When is creative going to redesign that chip? I am willing to pay the price for quality. I want a very high quality card. Does anyone have this setup? How do you like it? I like making purchases and keeping the products for a long time. I like to know the part I buy is simply the best out there and will be for a while. Is anything new supposed to come out soon in the sound card field in the next 6-9 months? Basically, what I am asking is what is the best soundcard right now and is it a good time to buy now. Will anything new be coming out in the next 6-9 months? If so, I will wait.
  5. I have a line out and a speaker out on my sound card. Should I use the speaker out and the splitter or the speaker out and the line out?
  6. I have decided to purchase the Klipsch Promedia 4.1s from outpost.com. I am uprading one part at a time. I have not upgraded the sound card yet. Belive it or not I am still running an SB16. I plan to upgrade that next, but I don't have the cash right now. Will this work with new speakers? How will it connect? I would do the sound card first, but my speakers are crap and about to die. Half the time I turn them on and no sound. They are cheap speakers, what can you expect. Anyways, I listen to music all the time. What inputs do the Promedia's have? Does the fact that these are not digital speakers hold them back? Do the Promedia's come with any cables to connect to the sound card? What cable are needed?
