  1. They were described as pretty old . I'll have to check if she has other "old" stuff listed.
  2. My mother raised my brother and me on a waitresses salary. Not a lot of money to throw around, but she bought one of the first Zeniths. She loved her TV. It was tough to keep working back then. Had a repairman out about twice a year.
  3. Maybe a little off topic, but what about those things that just don't seem to be a good as you remember? I tried a Twinkie the other day and I bet I haven't had one in 20 years. Just didn't taste like I remember. Ritz crackers is another. Just not as buttery. I don't know if its my taste buds or if they've reduced costs by using less costly ingredients.
  4. The ad was down before I got to look at it. What was it?
  5. I had floaters for a while. They went away when I started jogging. I think I shook them all loose and now they're piled up at the bottom of my eyeball.
  6. Oh, yeah. The same site also has 2 sets of LS, a pair of KHorns and some Industrial Heresy's. Nice fertile hunting ground for Klipsch.
  7. This really hurts. I don't have the room, I'd have to pull money from the IRA.....WAF would be low, very low.
  8. No affiliation http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=35553935&cat=&lpid=&search=klipsch&ad_cid=6
  9. Could only manage 2 2/3 LaScalas. Surrounds are 4 Academys. One less than ideal sub slated to be upgraded.
  10. Doctors generally are only able to diagnose as well as you are able to describe your symptoms. I've been lucky in that my doctors have been good. I credit my current doctor with recognizing a symptom I came into his office with in diagnosing a serious problem. He saved my life. Most doctors are good. Most cops are good. Most people are good. It's too bad we form opinions on a group based on the actions of a few.
  11. It apparently was taken down, however... http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=35461521&cat=&lpid=0&search=klipsch&ad_cid=1 Some KHorns with worn cabinets for $1500. I've no affiliation.
  12. A couple of pairs of KHorns. Herriman is south of SLC about 20 miles. Grantsville is about 25 miles west. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=35367515&cat=&lpid=&search=klipsch&ad_cid=8 http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=34537263&cat=&lpid=1&search=klipsch&ad_cid=1
  13. Too much for me even though they're local. Heck, I don't have room for anymore. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=34538033&cat=&lpid=&search=klipsch&ad_cid=7 http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=34537263&cat=&lpid=&search=klipsch&ad_cid=8
  14. then , you will raise the volume - bigger picture - even bigger sound - With LSs, building a HT that they would not be adequate is beyond my paycheck.
  15. I don't see how any speaker is designed for center channel use minus the fact it's layed sideways. Well....Depends who does the design. I had considered laying a stock lascala on it's side or an academy. bobdog talked me out of the academy and other inputs from this forum talked me out of the sleeping lascala.
  16. Decent looking. Maybe a bit optimistic. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=32563341&cat=&lpid=&search=klipsch&ad_cid=4
  17. Joe Martin is a genius. Boffo represents my general outlook not to take stuff too seriously, especially when playing on the web.
  18. Here's a better alternative; http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=32420293&cat=&lpid=&search=klipsch&ad_cid=8
  19. I have the 8000. I've never done a side by side. All I know is that I can see individual blades of grass when watching football. F1 is art in motion. Movies are beautiful. I've run with some lights on and its ok, but I generally run in Bat Cave Mode. The projector is 24 ft back on a 117" diagonal screen projecting through a hole in the wall. I had to cheat a bit to get the pic to shrink to fit. I've never done a pro calibration. If i get within a few inches of the screen there is less than a pixel offset of colors. This is unobservable from my seating location 10 ft back. As I don't own a 3D capable reciever, I've never run a 3D movie. That is my simple, user based review of a projector I'm extremely happy with.
  20. I'm sorta short on funds rights now. Reads like there's some bargaining room. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=32185069&cat=&lpid=&search=klipsch&ad_cid=6
  21. My LaSquatta: Built to fit the HT.
  22. The hardest part of repairing many things is having the courage to take a screw driver and open up the box. After that it's usually becomes apparent on what's necessary to make a repair. Based on the pictures, access is probably through the motor board (front panel) though there might be screws on the exterior of the cup. Hard to really see clearly. Use the appropriate screw driver, open it up and just take a look. There will probably be tabs on the defective cup and replacement cup that will give you clues on how it's attached. As CECAA850 said, pay attention to the polarity of the wires. Call customer service if you have questions.
  23. I thought tigerwoodsKhorns was asking where I was in relation to the ad. The ad says Heber, Utah. I'm 20 miles from Heber in Francis (both east of Park City). My bad as I assumed tigerswoodsKhorns was somewhat familiar with Heber and the surrounding area.
