Purchased the Epson 8100 about 8 months ago as a 'Manufacturer Refurb' unit. It comes with 2 years warranty on bulb/lamp. The projector currently has about 200 hours on it. you can't go wrong with either a Panny or Epson for the money. and no matter what pj you end up getting, you're going to need to do some tweakings to get the best pictures out of them. sure they look great out of the box, but you'll be surprise at the improvements after some minor tweaks.

like james said. first put in a cross brace (front to back, sides to sides). brace should be between the horn and woofer. second, go grab a bag of the poly-fill sheet from walmart and glue them to the walls. also remember to put a sheet on top of the brace.

you just can't beat the Emotiva amps for $/watt performance. even their regular prices.

great looking room corn. what mounting hardware do you use for the pj? it looks like it's pretty flat against the ceiling. i could use a couple extra inches to raise up the pj.

I really like them. They have very good details/dynamics, and the midbass is loud and tight (after about 100hrs). They measured down to about 35hz in my room (mostly room gain) and falls off around 14/15khz. and with 4 15' subs taking care of the lfe, i don't miss the cornwalls at all.

lol, at -10db on the pre/pro my chest is pressured and dishes falling off the racks upstairs. I LOVE IT!!!

size and price are big factors i think. the same reason why people don't have JBL pro speakers in their HT room, even if they have the cash. with most people's typical 15x25 ht room, having 6 or 7 of these speakers in such a room is very challenging. and as much as i love the cornwalls, i had to let them go mainly due to size. with quality speakers half the size and 1/10th of the price, combined with some very good subs, you have yourself a pretty decent setup and not miss the big ole heritage at all.

short answer: "ABSOLUTELY" however, it depends on the listener's preference as well as needs. i had a pair of cornwalls and for music, i felt a sub (or subs) were not necessary. i like to listen to the CW in 'direct' mode. they had plenty of bass for any type of music. for movies, i just don't think there are any speakers that can dig below 20hz and still provide reference SPL. even those speakers that cost half of my annual income. with movies, you definitely need subs regardless of the heritage speakers in use. but do keep in mind that there are not that many subs in the market which can keep up with the heritage speakers. and some members here built subs the size of refrigerator. the speakers you linked, imo, is really a waste with the big heritage speakers that you have. i just finished building a pair of Heresy clones, and that is being supported by 4 15" subs which give me flat down to about 10hz. and watching Battle Los Angeles at -18db causes the dishes to fall off the racks upstairs.

well, like everyone just mentioned. this is probably the #1 clip for basshead. it will be the first blu-ray i'll pop in once i finished by sub builds.

congrats! the Emo sub is really musical. i really like my 10 when i had it. just a head up though, quite a few folks have had their amp died and sent back for repair, great thing Emo has 5yr warranty as my amp die about a year later. i sold my Emo 10 a few months back and decided to build 4x 15" sealed subs.

Hey Slappy, did you take measurements on your CS1.5s? I just finished a pair of CS-1s, and they seem to fall off rather early at around 10khz instead on the reported 19khz by Bob. very nice looking jeff. did you apply a coat of shellac before the oil? or just oil straight up?
