  1. Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by full range. I use the RF 83s for HT. I use my La Scalas for 2-channel. Thanks for the quick input.
  2. My Blueberry came with JJ's and I thought it sounded really good until I replaced them with Bugle Boys. I'll nevver put JJ's in any of my gear again. Sources are available that are not hard to find, are reliable and do not cost an arm and a leg.I've pointed loads of people on this forum in the right direction. Dealing on Ebay or any online dealers is not the place to get vintage tubes.
  3. I have a Blueberry that runs into VRD's. Can I connect y-splitters on the Blueberry main outs and run 1 signal to the VRD's and the other to my Klipsch Sub 10 Low /level Connection? I cannot connect via High Level Connections so that is not an option. Advice most welcome!
  4. Anyone have any experience using a DBX 120 and if so what were your impressions? Any possible benefit to use with Heritage line?
  5. I own a Scout and love it but from a objective assessment the Gyro gets KILLER ratings at audioreview.com which is a website whose opinions I value...hope this helps http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/michell/turntables/gyrodec-turntable/PRD_121388_1597crx.aspx
  6. couldn't be said better! what cart do you use?
  7. just an idea http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Sima-Multi-zone-Volume-Control-Speaker-Selector/3382757/product.html you can connect 2 amps, 4 sets of speakers and the unit provides impedance protection so if you upgrade and had 4 sets of speakers and wanted to use them all at once the Sima protects your amp such that even when running 4 pairs of speakers, your amp works as if it has 1 pair connected at 8 ohms...
  8. I agree with you Audio Nectar. With preamp tubes lasting up to 10,000 hours I can't believe I couldn't scrounge a pair or 2 to use especially if I had tens of thousands. I've done blind A/B tests more times than I can remember and NOS won 9 times out of 10. As it is your 1st tube integrated he may not have wanted to sell you something better until you find out if you truly like the amp. Why buy the best and decide a week later you don't like integrateds?
  9. I had a Thorens 165 with a Origin arm which I liked but prefer the Scout. How do the 124's compare to the 165's? What cart do you use with your 124? Great looking table!
  10. I've ordered some of the below grill cloth to go with a pair of Cornwalls I had a professional paint. They have a piano gloss finish so deep and glossy you'd swear you were looking into a mirror. Just throwing out a idea. This is old Vox guitar amp grill cloth.
  11. thanks you're a true gentleman!
  12. was the consensus to use a 7" or 10" pipe and was their benefits to tapering? finally, do you have to take the bottom off of the La Scala and then sit the LS on the Bass Reflex mod? Thanks so much!!
  13. I do, how much do you charge per tube?
  14. Sorry if I came across wrong! I was gonna get a Dyna 20x, how do you like it? Have you ever heard a Clearaudio Maestro? I got my Scout with the Maestro for $2500. The Scout Master per my friend is not worth the extra money and doesn't sound any better. Best wishes with your new TT! I love your suspension system, bet it works great!!
  15. excuse my ignorance but what is the bottom section, a bass bin, ports?
  16. Garten, I would love to here my choice side by side with your Scout as I was considering the Scout Master but ended up with what I'm extremely pleased with here Considering your TT cost over double my Scout I would hope that it sounds better...My friend sells VPI's hears the Scout and Scout Master everyday... could afford to own either one and he owns a Scout...
  17. Did you have the treble issue with the Jolida with other speakers before the Fortes? Do both speakers have the same problem? Do you have another amp you could hook to the Fortes to see if it's the Jolida? What tubes are in the Jolida and how old are they?
  18. VPI Scout!! I've had a Thorens 165 and still own a Garrard 301 and the VPI kills them both!!
