Hello Everyone, I hope one of you can help me. About 2-3 months ago my KSW 12 subwoofer started buzzing when my receiver was turned off (it's totally silent while my receiver is on.) I started flipping the KSW 12 switch to off when it wasn't in use and that seemed to work fine, although it's a bit of a pain switching it by hand so often. Just tonight the KSW 12 started making a humming noise while it is both turned off and on (somewhat higher pitched than the buzz), I unplugged the KSW 12 and the humming stopped, I plugged it back in and the hum was there again. I've owned the speaker for a little over 2 years. I purchased it from Vanns who is an authorized retailer of Klipsch. I know the speaker has a very good warranty (10 years I think) so I'm pretty sure I'm still covered. I'm in California and Vanns is in Montana, is there a California service center that will look at it? Do I need to send it to Hope, AK? Any and all help that anyone can offer is greatly appreciated. I haven't had any problems with my other 5 Klipsch synergy speakers. What happened?? This problem is starting to drive me crazy. Please email me help! Thanks in advance. Looking for a good time? Or should I say Laugh? Go to a local Fry's Electronics. They are in California everywhere south of San Jose. Bose has spent some big money to install "Bose Theaters" in every Fry's. Customers of the store (Fry's sells everything from Baby Strollers and Pepsi to HDTV) are rounded up and sat down in a nice 40-seat theater and shown a slideshow/musical demo of the Acoustimas (sp?) system. It's a very controlled environment and they have spent some serious time trying to make the tiny speakers sound big. The speakers are given what I would call a very unchallenging music and voice; most of the dynamic range is squarely in the middle. If anyone is interested, I will give a detailed account of the "Bose" experiences and my questions to the salesman. Just place a reply here and I'll go to it. Dear all, Best match for KSF 8.5 - KSB-2.1 or SB-2 ? The speakers are to be used as 6.1 rear channel. Thanks for any advice. Thanks for the info! If I may be so bold as to offer a suggestion for the matching chart, a little * next to the speaker types for those that are the "currently produced best match" might be helpful. One more quick question. If I wanted to ad a rear channel to my current set up for 6.1, which do you think would make a better match- the older KSB-2.1 Bookshelf, or the new SB-2 ? I haven't heard the SB-2, However, I have heard from others the SB-2 is very similar to the older style. Anyone listen to them side by side? Someone who works for Klipsch care to comment? I happened to notice on the planetklipsch.com site (on the matching chart) different center channels are listed for the KSF-8.5 and KSF-10.5. The 8.5 is listed as matching with SC1, and the 10.5 with the RC-3. I assume there is a big difference between the SC1 and the RF-3 ?!? I currently use the KSF-C5. Which it seems, isn't being made anymore. When I purchased my complete Klipsch System the person I spoke with in Hope, AK told me that the KSF-C5 was the one to go for as a center channel. I wonder why there is a difference in the chart? The 8.5 & 10.5 sound amazingly similar. So much in fact that I opted for the 8.5 (and saved a good deal of money) the 8.5 and 10.5 have the same X-over frequency matched with the KSF-C5. Neither the SC1 or RF-3 have that in common with the 8.5 & 10.5 (not that that makes the ultimate in matching sound quality, but it's part). Would someone from Klipsch like to comment and clear this up for me?
