  1. New Hope. I also have a pair of KSP-S6 I may consider parting with that I'm not using.
  2. I don't have photos of the KG 3.5s at this time, but they are in nice shape, like the rest of my stuff.

(no boxes) If you want to bundle some items, make me an offer and save some money. All items are very nice (I don't collect junk). Thanks! troy at krugercentral dot com
  6. Walnut Klipsch speakers are sold. New owner was very excited about the condition when he arrived and inspected. I'm going to miss those ):
  7. ksp-s6 - also available in white. I think the RB-35 will actually stick out further from the wall and be uglier than a proper WDST wall mount style surround.
  8. These aren't being used.....nice stuff. Minneapolis area. Gotta clear out space as I'm out of room around here. Walnut Klipsch SW8 Sub Polks
  9. If I didn't recently have Crites redo upgrade mine, I'd be on these. Do they include all new wiring in the correct lengths to get up to the drivers?
  10. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ele/3630207324.html I actually viewed these and ended up passing on them for $200. (he has now lowered the price) I realized the parts alone are worth more than that, but they are big and I simply don't have the energy or room for trying out another set of large speakers. They sounded great when he played them for me. They are a bit beat on the edges and such. No telling how stable the cabinets are (was an issue with the tangent). For somebody on a limited budget who wants excellent sounding 3 way Klipsch and doesn't really care about scratch/dent here and there they would be an excellent buy. I couldn't bring myself to part these out so I hope somebody can use them. You could make some killer custom centers with these components if you have the skills.
  11. The photos looked great. Oiled oak, no visible wear, grills looked good, passive radiators looks good (even dust caps), emblems intact, risers looked good. He didn't know what they were, but simply had the ad "Big Klipsch Speakers"
  12. So I checked CL this weekend and found a set of very nice Chorus II listed in Anoka for $100!!!!! I looked at the time it was posted, and since I was within 15 minutes, I thought I had scored. I quickly called the number and left a nice message. I also followed up with an email. Well, I never heard from the guy, and the post was pulled a few hours later. I can't believe that I missed it so quickly. I've always wanted a pair of those - would have been fun!!!
  13. Good price on that KV3. You will like it!
  14. Thanks for your review. I would forget movie tests for now, and concentrate on music that you know really well. Of course, those 30s are going to sound a bit different if you upgrade to the Ti diaphragms that Crites sells for very little coin. Did you have all your room processing "Audyssey" type stuff turned off and running these tests DIRECT? I assume you had the sub turned off, and testing it all set to "large"?
  15. Nice setup - I've had similar and it served me well. Definitely the KV3 over the KV4. The KV4 was used with the Epic series. Alternatively if you have the space a single KG 2.2 or 2.5 would work well, too. I used a 3rd KG 5.5 for the center when I was using the 5.5 mains and it was awesome. Believe it or not after recalibrating and such I didn't really miss the single 5.5 in the center with I DOWNGRADED to the KV3 for purely aesthetic reasons. Go figure.
  16. For testing.... Speakers A into position 1 with Speakers B into position 2. A/B with a variety of material using the banana plug switching.... Take notes and form an opinion Now, move/swap Speakers B into position 1 and Speakers A into position 2 - repeat A/B testing with same material as before comparing notes. This will isolate the room effect for the most part so you can listen to both speakers in both positions for an equal quick A/B comparison.
  17. That looks great! Another benefit to this design would be to relocate the port to the front under the horn....? If no room for that, dual ports under the horn.
  18. Youthman, Now you have done it! You entered the world of Klipsch 3-way and I'm afraid there is no turning back. You have some fun times ahead of you for sure with your testing. I look forward to your thoughts on how they compare to the RFs. I had the KLF 30 myself, but elected to sell them in favor of the KLF 20 that fit better in my space. Those 30s were just too tall with my other furniture in the room/area. Of course, that isn't a problem for you, I see. Some people feel the 20s are better than the 30s, but I did prefer the sound/slam of the 30s. Be sure to check for dust cap looseness and potential cabinet glue/sealing issues before your testing is concluded. If you push really hard in different areas on the front/rear baffles with your hand/fingers (really hard) it should not move/give at all anywhere. If you see some movement, you are looking at a reseal, which isn't that big of a deal. Most people aren't even aware of the issue/know they have a problem. You may also want to make sure all your connections are tight to the drivers/crossovers. I was thinking something was a bit off (not obvious), and then realized one of my woofers wasn't even connected (wire came loose). I wonder how long the previous owner was enjoying his speakers this way (:
  19. I've been looking forward to this movie the most. I will go get it today! Ah good, it wasn't just me that thought that...I thought the sound was overall a bit disappointing for such a big budget film. Good movie tho, definitely not sad I bought it. I kind of found it refreshing to be able to crank the movie up loud without distortion and listen to the clear dialog without reaching for the remote on the loud parts. Yes, it was still loud and explosive - made my walls rattle, but it wasn't over the top and unnatural like so many movies.....
  20. I'm afraid that if you don't like the RC-35, you will hate the smaller RC-25. My neighbor has an RC-35 with his RB-35s up front and I think I know what you mean by poor center quality. Get ready for complete upgraditis !
  21. Check with a sign shop or an automotive vinyl wrap shop. They can design a very modern custom cabinet look for you or simply select a solid color vinyl wrap from them and have them install them on your cabinets. Much easier than painting and many endless options that you can change along the way, too.
  22. OK, a 7 ft screen on a 9' wall. Are you hoping to fit all THREE speakers UNDER the screen? You must have it high up against the ceiling. I would think that 3 fatter/wider speakers would be better than taller and much DEEPER speakers that stick out into your room. If the Fortes don't fit, how much more space are you gaining with a KLF 20? If it's close, have you considered Quartets? Almost the same sound as your Forte and would be plenty of boom in that size room. Line up 3 under the screen, lower the screen a bit for more comfortable viewing (is your ceiling black?), and enjoy. If three Fortes don't fit, bring the L and R in a bit toward center, toe them in and experiment with a phantom center. I have KLF 20s now. They are quite deep, and need room to breath in the back (ported, but PRs need room, too). They sound good and are modded with upgraded crossovers and Ti diaphragms. I had to reinforce the cabinets. Yes, I do think you have a HIGH probability of having cabinet issues with the KLFs. Most people don't even know the problem exists until you show them. Of all the recent designs (90s and beyond) they, along the KLF 30 are the closest thing to your Forte's in sound since the Forte's were discontinued (excluding Heresys, but needing a subwoofer). I had a set of Quartets before my KLFs and was also able to compare them side by side when they were both still stock. They were very close in quality - even with the smaller size of the Quartet, I preferred them in ways to the KLF. In the end, I kept the KLF because they physically worked better in my room. They LACK the classic Klipsch appearance and are boring to look at, but they do get the tweeter higher which works. I much prefer the exterior and grill designs of the older classic Klipsch. In a room the size of yours and a screen the size of yours, I would not hesitate to do 3 Quartets over the KLF if you can fit them in. As for rears, the original KG1 is a sealed design so you can smack that right on your wall. Looks just like a mini Forte/Quartet!
  23. Glad you are enjoying the HK. What did it replace, and how does it compare in the same room, same speakers, etc....? I inherited a 430 and played around with it for a month or so - I had problem with the AUX inputs making loud noises at times/interference and such. When I did have it hooked up, I noticed it sounded great with my Klipsch speakers. The unit certainly wasn't bass shy! With KG 3.2s in a small room, I'm guessing you are loosing bass more due to that placement I see up high in a shelf. I must say that the glow of thos old HKs are classic in the appearance department. If they came out with a throw back unit with identical looks in 2 channel, nice build but with upgrades such as a REAL power cord, speaker binding posts, remote control, etc....It would be a fun receiver to have indeed!
