  1. For sale is a Klipsch Ultra 5.1 system with the cooling upgrade (Henry Koch) and upgraded satellites to the reference line RSX-3. Ideal for multichannel computer gaming systems or other multichannel uses such as home theatre. Also suitable for 2-channel listening. This system produces solid bass from the dual-8” drivers down to a bit below 30hz. The RSX-3’s take the quality of sound from the system up a couple of notches. The cooling upgrade improves the longevity of the system. I can also substitute the silver satellites (pictured) for the black ones. Asking $300 plus shipping. Or pickup in southeast PA.
  2. Southeast PA. I’d be willing to travel some to meet, but not super far.
  3. Thanks! I was unsure of what these are going for nowadays. I haven’t been able to find many sales to use as a basis. Any suggestions?
  4. I’m looking to sell my RB-75’s. They are in like-new condition (I’ve babied them). All original packaging. For those who don’t know much about this model speaker, they are sort of like a smaller version of the RF-7’s. They use the same 1.75” tweeter (though it is attenuated). To me they sound really clear but with a smoothness to their tone, especially with instruments like strings or a piano. It’s worth saying that these two RB75’s aren’t consecutive serial numbers. I know that’s important to some people. Personally I am unable to see or hear any difference between the two. I’m asking $700 but feel free to make an offer. Pickup preferred in the Willow Grove, PA area, though I’d consider shipping them.
  5. About 6 months ago my iFi system started intermittently turning off when I would turn the volume up using the control module. It would usually happen about 6 'clicks' past the default setting, but recently it's been happening after 1-2 clicks and it always happens. Does anyone have idea what's going on and how to fix it? I'm very proficient with soldering and understanding what to do, although not at all proficient in troubleshooting Thanks.
  6. For anyone interested, I'll be listing this for bidding on eBay on Friday (22nd). I'll update this post when I do.
  7. SOLD Shure V15 Type III cartridge in excellent condition with 3 styli for $150 OBO (free shipping to continental US). One stylus is an EVG (VN35E) and two are Ed Saunders. The EVG and one ES styli have less than 10 hours of playtime and the other ES stylus has about 20 minutes of playtime.
  8. Sold. For sale is a Yamaha A-S700 integrated amp in excellent condition for $300 OBO (+shipping). This is a modern 2-channel integrated amp, minimum RMS 90W x 90W at 0.02% THD. It has inputs for CD, phono (integrated preamp), tuner, and lines 1-3. Included is the remote and user manual. I double box for shipment. See Yamaha's website for specifics about this amp: http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/hifi-components/amps/a-s700_black__u/?mode=model
  9. I finally performed the first crossover modification described on this thread which is intended to reduce the tweeter and squawker output of the Heresy I: http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/21971.aspx I had initially asked about it on this thread - http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/172853/1948808.aspx. The thread became kind of long, but it was generally agreed that the second modification is better. However, I had just bought new caps and didn't want to spend any more money. The first modification still makes the Heresy I's less squawky which is what I wanted. I can't say that I'm sold on the sound of the Heresy's though! The squawker sounds great, but they seem extremely directional and not as balanced as I'd like. If anyone has any tips on speaker positioning I'd appreciate it. I'd love to hear some Klipschorns to get a real feel for the heritage sound. I've attached a photo of my rough modification for those interested. If anyone sees a problem please don't hesitate to say something.
  10. Ok, to clarify, John's final mod replaces the squawker cap with a 21uf cap (a film cap in that size would be expensive, no?) and solders an 11-ohm 21-watt resistor across taps 0 and 5 on the autoformer?
  11. Oh I see. I don't want to order more parts (I've already put more than I wanted into these Heresy's) so I'd prefer to stick with John's corrected version on page 1. Is there some problem with that version? He does say "The second schematic is for experimental purposes, but could be used indefinately"...
  12. Does anyone know of a source for diaphragm gasket replacements for the K77 tweeter? I finally got replacement diaphragms for my Heresy tweeters and repaired the non-working tweeter. It works and sounds good. I then went to replace the diaphragm on the other tweeter (which works, but is quieter) and discovered it had no gasket. It had clearly been worked on before. Frustrating!
  13. Thanks Fjd, I appreciate it. It looks right. I'll report back if it turns out to be different. Did you read the thread that Fjd linked to cfelliot? I'm certainly no expert, but there was no capacitor change in that mod. There was much discussion in the thread about impedance issues. Did I miss something?
  14. Thanks for the link, it was helpful! It basically says to move the squawker negative from tap #2 to #1 and the tweeter negative from #3 to #2, and add in a 16 ohm 10 watt resistor across the squawker terminals. The issue for me is that I'm not 100% certain which are taps #1 and #2. Can you clarify for my peace of mind?
