  1. Thanks for all of the advice. I will definitely be shopping for a sub!
  2. Thanks for the tips I will look into those brands and also check out the Klipsch RS Series for the surround. As for th KLF-C7, I do not have an academy or another ForteII as a center to compare it too, but I think it sounds really good and blends in well. The speaker itself is great and really brings out the audio dialog when watching movies. I was amazed at the improvement and how much clearer things sounded when I added the center to my HT setup.
  3. Here is my Home Theater setup: Mains: Forte II Center: KLF-C7 Surrounds:JBL PRO1 Sub: None yet A/V Rec: AVR-2310CI I have to admit movies already sound great, and I get good bass. Everyone that comes over is impressed by the setup, but I am just wandering if it would be better with a sub added. I really do not have money to burn, but I would be willing to spend some money on this if it would improve the sound. The Forte's already have a fairly low frequency range and provide good deep sound so not sure what would make sense, if anything. My main use for this setup is home theater. Also, looking to replace the JBL's with some Klipsch speakers for surround and would like some suggestions. Only thing is that they have to be small enough to mount on the wall. Thanks
  4. Wuzzzer, Thanks for the feedback. Yes I too noticed a good improvement with the diaphragm tweeters. I want to change the crossovers too, but I think I will wait a bit and use the money to finish buying the rest of my Home Theater components. By any chance do you still have the RS-42's and if so do you want to sell them?
  5. Hello everyone, I am looking for suggestions for wall mountable speakers for a home theater setup. I am basically starting out with a pair of ForteII with upgraded Tweeters(Bob Crite). I am currently using a pair of JBL bookshelf speaker, and want to replace with a pair of Klipsch speakers. I had my eye on the RS-42 speakers, but I know that they are a not a good timber match, but my question is will it really matter that much since they will be used for the surround sound? Thanks in advance. Also if anyone has any experience with Bob Crites crossover replacement for the Forte II's, can they let me know if you think its worth the upgrade for a pair of Forte II's that are already in good condition. I did the tweeter mod, and I liked the results, so I was wandering if the crossover replacement would make them sound that much better. Keep in mind that this system will only be used for Home theater. Thanks in advance
  6. Yes it does have a phantom mode and that is what I am doing now since I do not have a center. It actually sounds pretty good like that, so I can imagine it will sound that much better with the center in place. I guess I will keep my eye out for an academy or maybe another forteII once I figure out if I can make the room for it and still keep the wife happy. Thanks for the advice
  7. Yes, space is not really an issue, but I was hoping to put in something a little smaller for the aesthetics. Any other suggestions?
  8. I am just putting this system together, so I do not have a sub yet. I had these Forte's back in college mainly to listen to music (stereo), and they have been in storage since. I recently purchased a new home and now that I have the space, I am trying to put together a little theater room in my basement. Basically all I have now is a Pioneer 1014TX amp, the Forte's and a pair of bookshelf JBLs that I use for the rears. I am open to suggestions for a center and sub, and probably need to replace the surround sound speakers down the road. Also, can someone tell me how the Forte's compare with the new Klipsch reference line. Are they a good choice for a home theater system, or should I sell them, and go with something more modern. I know the Forte's sound really good, but I haven't had a chance to listen to anything from Klipsch's new line of products. Of course, budget is a concern, but at the same time, I do want to make sure I put together a quality system. Thanks
  9. That Is a good idea. I may try that. I know the Forte's sound good, but in your opinion do you think they sound better than the new reference series floor standing speakers? I am really a speaker novice, so not really sure what league the Forte's are in. I just now they sound really good. In other words would it be better to stick with my Forte's and build around them, or sell them and go for a newer klipsch reference series. My main goal again is to have a good system for home theater, mainly for watching movies; and to try to limit the money I will have to pay to get there. Thanks in advance
  10. I have had my Forte's in storage for over three years, and just recently purchased a home and finally have room to set these up. My goal is to use them as part of a 5.1 system for a home theater system to watch movies. Here is what I have so far: a Pioneer 1014TX receiver, a pair of Klipsch ForteII speakers, and a pair of book shelf JBL speakers for the surround. I am willing to replace the JBL's if needed. Anybody have any recommendations for center channel speaker and replacement surrounds. I know the academy is the perfect match for the Forte's, but they are hard to come by. Thanks in advance.

I know this have been asked several times before, and from reading on the forum it appears as the Academy is the obvious solution for a center. The only problem is I can't find a used Academy. I really like the way the Forte's sound, but was not sure if they would sound right with a reference series speaker like the RC-62. Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks in advance
