  7. I know cornwalls normally use the k-600. But can I use the k-700 in my cornwalls? Or is the K-600 and K-700 different? If so, what are the differences between them?
  8. They sound amazing. I've never heard a pair before I got them. Actually, I never seen a pair in person before either, didnt realize how big the cabinets were.. They are all original. K-77M K-600 horns with K-55v drivers K33e woofers and Type B crossovers
  9. So.. I was driving down the street with my wife minding our own business, and passed a garage sale. Slammed on the brakes and pulled over. And there they were. Got out and asked the price. He says, "$300.. these are Klipsch." I looked at my beautiful wife and told her we're buying them. She says, "We already have speakers!" The seller says, "Yeah, buy these and you can throw those away." Funny.. actually, downright hilarious.. even considering the thought of throwing away a pair of La Scalas. Long story short, we bought em. And here they are along with my 1981 La Scalas and 1981 Heresys.
  10. wow. i kept checking this thread wondering how long it would take to sell. congrats to whoever the buyer was.
  11. Selling my KG4 cabinets. Was going to make a project out of them, but I dont have the time, or space. Good condition, grills have no rips/tears, but i did remove the badges to put on my heresys. $50 local pick up SF Bay Area
  12. i saw a photo awhile back with a grill covering the whole face of the la scala, looked like a huge cornwall. i think im gonna go that route. hopefully the heritage speaker cloth that crites sells is wide and long enough to cover a whole la scala.
  13. spent a few hours on em with my orbital sander.. but.. any advice on sanding inside the dog house? my dewalt sander is too bulky, and i think hand sanding will take a few lifetimes.
  14. this morning, i made a 100+ mile drive and purchased a pretty worn down pair of la scalas for $380. (blown diaphragms on the k77s, and blown diaphragm on one k55m and missing one midrange driver) gonna try my hand at restoring them. i dont know if sanding and staining will be good enough. i've never reveneer'd something, but i might try it.. i havent decided yet. after one round of 60 grit sanding:
  15. Searched the forum and didn't see a thread dedicated to the matter. It'd be nice to see everyone's new Klipsch buys. If there is a thread like this or similar, please delete. I'll start..
  16. Dennie, I love em. Very pleased. They sound amazing. Sadly, they're going to my parents house tonight (my dad has a pair of LaScalas in raw birch to match) But right now, they're paired up with my La Scalas. Every other speakers I've paired with them before, were completely drowned out by the LS. The Heresy on the other hand, hold their own very well.
  17. Earlier today, I purchased a pair of Heresy HBR from a local seller on CL. I was 2nd to respond to his ad. Me being 15 minutes away, he held them for me for a day and even took the listing down because I guaranteed him I would buy them. More photos to come, but I'm too busy listening to them right now :music: And if I read the SN guide correctly, these are from 1981? the serial#s are: 120W561, 120W562 theres also a red stamped "KH" on the K-55V horns. The seller said they were from a pair of Klipschorns. Is that accurate? *also posted this on audiokarma for more advice on these.
