Additional information... Your Amp, which in enclosed in the back of the sub, uses a seperate board for the Sub. This means whether you use the Satellites or not, the sub still runs on it's own system, independant from the speakers. Check this site out, it's posted as a MOD for cooling off your amp under high volume, but the pictures of the Sub (internally) are excellent... This MOD WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!! I have experienced good results upgrading speaker cables on my home theater. Never tried it on my pc. Rule of thumb is "you get what you pay for." I would suggest, if you are going to upgrade, go for Monster cable. Crackling, it could be interference in the switch, I had that happen on another volume control before. troyc642

I have found that if you have a loose connection where your speakers connect to the soundcard, ie... a poor quality socket in your soundcard, that causes a buzzing. I took my plug out, and reinserted it until I found a position where the buzzing went away. Recently though, I bought a new soundcard (soundblaster live). No more troubles. troyc642

I just got my ProMedia speakers. For a long time I have been a Klipsch fan. I got my set, for $198! Yeah!!! I want to say thanks to everyone for all your comments. I am really exited to use the speakers. I will be using the Soundblaster Live, with a t-bird 900. I was a little concerned about realizing I was not going to have 5.1 AC3 with these speakers, but due to all of your great comments, I am totally not worried. From what I read, Amy, you seem nice. ;-) I'll write back with any thing I discover. troyc642
