  1. What were you thinking?!? My very average black La Scalas were $1200 three years ago in Victoria, and that was after bargaining down from the asking price of $1400 plus tax. Recessions come and go, but you keep La Scalas for a long time. As for me, I spent a lot last year doing the JubScala conversion, which involved buying a pair of 510 tweeters, a Dx38 and a second power amp, so this year all I have planned to buy are some Heresy III kits for my Heresy IIs. I was thinking I didn't have $1000 and that I would have a few people I owe, somewhat upset if I got those before paying them. Time tough and while doing what you love is rewarding, it tends to leave unpaid bills including this "Bill".
  2. It's tough all over on both sides. I've lost out on some great deals and even at heavy discounts, not moving pieces that used to have too many people after. It's so bad I had to pass on a beautiful set of Walnut LaScala's 2 weeks ago that were only $1000 Canadian! Oh the pain!
  3. Tank ye muchly gents! Trey, No need for more amplifiers at the moment and the KW-120-THX, seems to be a little too nice looking to take on the road, not to mention MDF, isn't as forgiving to mishaps as ply and at $1250 each MSRP, think I could get better for the application for less. If it was just for home/store it would certainly be a contender, but I know that the right Klipsch products can provide double duty, with no sacrifice to sound, performance or durability(fan boy much?). However with someone showing off his Jubilee's, I'm thinking dangerous thoughts in different directions now. If 1 is divided by 2 and 6+12=18, how much empty space would be needed to fill a full space?[]
  4. On the Canadian side of things, Bryston is very similar to Klipsch, when it comes to customer service and standing behind their products. Just phone them with the serial number and they'll give you the skinny on the 4B. Very reliable amp, home or pro use. You can send it in, not just for a check up/tuneup,but upgrades are also available to take a regular 4B and transform(LOL) it into as ST or SST version. However, as with all great companies, times are a changin', the warranty periods are getting shorter, a long time wizard, head tech has just retired as well. He used to not only service Bryston products, but whatever you brought to the main Bryson outlet/factory. Had a pair of Crown D150's serviced and tuned by him.
  5. Well Parfeessar Thunk[]... It would be nice if two could fit in the back seat of a standard size car or a mini van with one set of back seats still usable. However, I could always ride on the roof rack if I really needed to! Reality wise, something as close to the size of the KP 115's but able to reproduce some "brown notes". And BTW O.T., have you ever checked out S&W TSW .45 series? Compact & Reliable, comes up used for a reasonable price.
  6. What bass cabinet in the KP line or anything short of the MCM's or KP 600's went the lowest? Yes, of course I would love MCM 1900's or KP 600's, but I have to stay real. Looking for depth, more than SPL...at the moment. I've been hunting for a pair of KP 115's as well, but I think I'll be lucky to find some in Canada at a fair price or not get killed on shipping. For the pro use members that have Klipsch at home as well: Was it your experience with home Klipsch, that made you choose them for your pro gear, or your pro use experience that got you into the home models?
  7. Finally made it on board, thanks for your help.
