  1. I'm currently using the "Nakamichi" ones you see come up on Ebay in bulk all the time and though they may be cheap knockoffs as no one thinks Nak ever made Banana plugs, the quality is quite good for the price. I have noticed they are a little longer plugs than some bananas I've had, but they hold tight and the wire is held by two screws, instead of the usual one. http://ebseller.com/bak/newhtml.html
  2. Edgar Winter has a double with the 4th side blank, some Casablanca 12" Disco mixes were one sided.
  3. Standing In The Shadows Of Motown[Y]
  4. Sorry that we were unable to drop everything and rush to your aide on your schedule.[] That said, if you want to find out proven, actual price ranges on these, as opposed to what people are asking/hoping for: www.popsike.com Enter searches wisely or over a few days, if your not in a rush for a answer(oh! nevermind!LOL), as unless you subscribe, it will lock out for a day, once you pass thier daily limit. Beatles is the trickiest group to get set values for as there are so many variations and one small difference can mean hundreds if not thousands of dollars between them.
  5. Freekin' Canadian CAM members, can't take 'em anywhere![] I believe he thought the thread said "Let's see those garbage systems"?[] Just joking, but really, why are you here? May we look forward to Konverting you to some Paladiums in the near future, or would you like to arrange a audition of some Herritage products? Lovely Rita meters made well?May I inquire discreetly? Hopefully, this being only the second mention of GF products here, the Beetlejuice/Candyman rules, will hold firm and the commercial free fun will continue here.
  6. Was quite happy with the KG 4's on a RX-602, but haven't tried enough different combinations of power/Klipsch top develop a preference to any amplifier. Just know it doesn't take much to make Klipsch sound good and will eventually discover what makes them sound better.
  7. Well isn't a cowbell really a horn loaded device and sometimes even made out of copper? So yes, more Kowbell!
  8. Stomach acne? Sounds nasty, but I've had it in worse places...oh stomach ache, nevermind! I am currently listening to some original press Prestige vinyl on one of the few, non-Klipsch systems and even sitting at my desk behind the HPM 100's, it sounds better than most CD's. Thump and others are right when he talks about poor mastering and over compression, as I have made simple live off the floor digital recordings, that not only have the dynamic range, capture the room and sound better to me than even the classics "re-mastered" for CD. This is a vinyl guy saying that Digital is not the greatest of evils in the sound of music today and done right it doesn't have to be a unpleasant thing. What started as a accident due to inexperience with a new format, has become engineered flaws, to ensure that they will always be able to sell you a "new and improved" version of something you have already bought, at least 3 times already. CES is already showing signs of that and now, it will no longer be good enough to have 2D(yawn?) Hendrix in concert Blu Ray, everything needs the Avatar treatment now, which isn't at all like getting a computer to add color to "It's A Wonderful Life" or deciding how the Beatles should have sounded all along...or is it?
  9. LSBB= La Scala Bass Bin *Edit or is it:La Scala/Birch/Black? (just when I think I know something!) I'm just guessing here, but as it has a sepperate designation, it is a industrial model. Therefore, there should be 2 fuses in the crossover/jack plate where the organ plugs into it. Check these to see if they are blown, should be a 1.5 amp for HF, 3 amp for LF. If there are fuses, should be the 3 amp LF that needs replacing. If that's not doing the trick, the "doghouse" door that provides access to the woofer is on the bottom of the bin.
  10. Invested a fair amount of time(too much) on this one, games like these and the new in home 3D technology, make the risk of a permanent break from reality great. Something for every type of gamer in this one. Lots of references to classic, post-apocolypse movies, for us film buffs too! I wandered away from the storyline a bit and just went exploring and then got busy with other things. Maybe when I finish Uncharted 2 or C.O.D. I'll make my return. Who knows, with all my speaker buying, business slidin', perhaps I'll have plenty of "spare" time to dedicate to it again soon!LOL Wonder how big a TV I can wedge into a La Scala bin, since I'll be living out of one soon at the rate I'm going. Funny, since I got the PS3, my gaming time has dropped off quite a bit, even though they are some of the best games and graphics ever.
  11. It's a neat product and a good shot at getting the Klipsch brand into places and markets it hasn't been before. I must confess I winced a little when the review(CNET?) refered to Klipsch as a "Headphone Manufacturer" though and hope this and other products, serve as a reminder, that while they make great headphones ( would love some full sized Klipsch cans!) their history and biggest strength continues to be full sized, full sound speakers. While us Herritage and KP folks aren't giving the company much direct revenue, I'm sure you would all agree, we are the biggest cheerleaders, shouting the name Klipsch and introducing people to the Klipsch sound, city blocks at a time. Not a product for me, between wireless technology and the price, but always join in celebrating the "next" from Klipsch, even when it is not a in house design, if it is good enough to bear the name and help the company survive and hopefully grow, then I will support it, even if only by telling others about it.
  12. Try buying them a few drinks first, gently rubbing around their ports and your input jack. If that doesn't turn 'em on, you may need to look at going back to a mono system.[] Sorry a "top notch" moment, lot's of helpful people here, mixed in with the jesters. Hope you work it out.
  13. And how well does it work?[] Someone at Canuck posted this and said it was from a Ebay listing, but haven't been able to find it. http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14481 Can anyone provide a step by step as to how this mod is done?
  14. All the best to all and may 2010 be the best sounding yet!
  15. 2 x 600 @8ohm Besides that, haven't been able to find much info, but was wondering if anyone here had any experience with them or something similar from EV? Have a chance to grab a couple(why? why? why?) for what I think is a decent price, but am flying blind on these.
  16. I think Mid-Fi lends itself more to the basic, no education/knowledge needed, enjoyment of music, rather than the recording, reproduction and the ongoing attempts to improve all points inbetween. Ignorance, truly can be bliss. When was the last time you listened to a great song, horribly recorded and enjoyed it? When was the last time you listened to a great recording, but horrible music, just because it shows off the best your system can do? Why even with the years of abuse to my ears, am I chasing after the "best" sound, when I was happiest jumping up and down on my bed as a kid, listening to the crackling, distorted Rock Radio sounds coming out of my mono clock radio 4 inch speaker?
  17. Thank you again, for delaying my Christmas by a day, ending the year on the right note(s) and giving me something to look forward to doing in 2010. I hope you stick around here, as these forums are filled with "Top Notch" folk, like yourself and hopefully you will be able to see pictures of the transformation. Please stay in touch, as I feel that even a short term owner, is still a important part of the lineage and I want you to be proud of the LSI's as they mature.LOL As much as I intend to make all my Klipsch "For Life", I would open up the dog houses and live in these, if it was a choice between a roof over my head and unloading these. Others may come along, but these are my first Splits and when your life is so sad you develop love for inanimate objects, that you can't sleep with(without getting splinters), you tend to value the things in life that give you pure, uncut JOY! Anyone ever use a motorboard as a headstone, with the horns still there to deliver a eternal message from beyond? Just asking!LOL
  18. No, $30 goes alot further, with a solid, vintage table, solid plinth, more refined tonearm and neither made of plastic. And that's coming from a DJ. $20 for a headshell, $40 dollars for a basic AT cart, unless you give her your old one. $90 will get you a very good, complete, basic model from the 70's that will blow the plastic Stanton away.
  19. Molaw has just hit the road to wind his way back home, after a 4 hour drive to deliver MY Split LSI's. These will need a bit of love and money to be 100%, but I am so happy to finally have a set. We had a nice lunch and chat and even though this was a quick entry and exit into the world of Klipsch for him, I hope I represented the Klipsch family well enough, that it won't be the last time he has a little Klipsch in his life. Thank you's as always, go to the vets here, especially Colter, who continue to guide my journey. I'll probably be asking even more questions with these, as there are issues I'll need to learn more about, to bring these up to or beyond spec again.
  20. All the best to all, here, there and elsewhere, may the holiday's provide you with even the fraction of the joy Klipsch speakers do.[]
  21. Here is a ode I wrote for the original, chief technical engineer for Motown Records, as he serviced some McIntosh gear. Soldier on brave solderer, Remove your cap and don't resist. For tomorrow will sound better, Once I finish this. As we stretch across the board walk, sometimes intertwined. Taking comfort in the pride and care, given to ensure we function as designed. We understand, hear, but rarely see, Our purpose with any frequency. Perhaps we were turned on at a pot party? Am I now in a lucid or solid state? Feeling compressed or behind a gate? Is there one track in life or sixteen or eight? Did you see the Ferret peak? If you peak a ferrit,do you speak? What is it MacArthur used to say? Old solderers just fader away? I could go on like this all day, but my head Hz so I'll go away.
  22. No this is it...really! Ok there is another set of KP 201's coming...and I was waiting to hear back about one more set of 3002's...but after that...um...right, what was I saying? Funny/sad thing is that I have already overspent, starting to have more than I have a realistic use/space for and all the non-Klipsch stuff is failing in a ongoing sries of unforntunate events(old QSC 1500A, throwing out a DC spike?) and I actually almost went off the deep end and got a big Soundcraft board, even though I barely know how to use my little 8ch that I have. Already accepting bids on the re-veneering job that I can't afford to get done, toobad Volti Audio isn't a little closer, or I'd try and swing a discount! Then again, I'd probably have to try and rework his potential logos some more to qualify. Which one of us is going to be featured on that trashy "Interventions" show first?LOL
  23. [] [] [] [] [] Star light, star bright... Wish me luck fellow Klipschkateers! Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's to all and hopefully me!
