all it is ,    is a money grab , and  totally BS  , and totally useless -meaningless  to have such a  web site claim to have any real active political role in any decision  , and to even suggest that they can do so many initiatives at one time  worldwide is BS ,  and do any kind of difference , is also 110% BS  --------

-UNLESS ,  they can effectively show any proof of their work  ,  these opinion style types web sites are pure scammers  and fraud  -------and nothing more ---and they should be controlled and even banned or audited to show where the money really goes -

-the question is ?   who profits  ?   in such a Pyramide style organization  system  that are lies and a deception-----and only  dreamers  should apply , but as an ex-hippie , I know the song all too well

  2.  I posted a recommendation early in this thread (April 3rd) that people should wear masks and gloves if they have them whenever they leave the safety of their own home. The WHO, CDC, and all levels of government did not recommend this at that time, and for almost two more weeks due to a shortage of N95, surgical masks and gloves. if you got them, wear them. If you don't have this equipment; improvise.

can you elaborate ---------with more documentation -

See the summary and the six additional Wuhan Virus stories in the February 15, 2020 online issue of The Lancet. Of particular interest is the report that only 49% of the patients they studied had visited the wet market in Wuhan. The referenced date of December 8, 2019 is the date of reporting and not the date of infection. As such, the CPC knew or should have known, that they had a potential pandemic capable of human-to-human transmission that is highly virulent.

As the URL link does not seem to work here do a google search of the 'February 15, 2020 issue of the Lancet'.

So what do you all think about the theory gaining traction in the media that the source of CV was a bio lab worker in Wuhan, with China trying to keep the accidental escape on the low-down?

oh no. I'm only a yellow mustard guy.

The best mustard in the world is grown east of me on the Alberta prairie. Spent some time in my aunt and uncle's mustard fields as a kid when I wasn't shooting gophers or teasing the bull from outside the corral.

Agree. The media is just being its standard ‘self’ looking to inject spin and hyperbole into any aspect of any story. I now pay most heed to info from Al Jazera. They seem to be distant from the politics and seem consistently objective. They also report in a timeline format, from the most recent event back in time.

Insofar as the covid19 goes it will take time to nail down some reproducible treatments and vaccine in enough volume to be useful. I am reminded of the tuberculosis saga and curative moment. For thousands of years the disease tormented humanity and remained incurable. Then they got it figured out and in a matter of months managed to have most of the sick on their way to cured and out of their sanitariums. We have to give science time and in the interim remain sequestered for the good of everyone. The upside is that the measures in play are working to stem the tide. It has been a breath holding month and now we can breathe a little easier. Bad as it seems we dodged a big bullet.

I tend to get my news from multiple sources including foreign news agencies. You are presumably aware of the ownership and many controversies surrounding Al Jazeera? Like most North American new outlets Al Jazeera reporting needs to be taken with a large grain of salt.

The Wiki on Al Jazeera’s past is an interesting read too.

at times, I'd rather have no information at all.  I hate hearing, "we have discovered something that is very promising. within the next couple of MONTHS we'll be ..."

don't tell me what you're going to do six months from now or next year. I know cures and vaccines can't be discovered overnight, but pointing to dates that, during a crisis, seem far into the future is of little comfort ... if any.

and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE will the media outlets stop looking for "experts" to give us their opinion. Stop filling your websites with nonsense (which will have a trickle down effect on this forum .... hopefully). Discouraging how many doctors have completely different facts ... err....opinions.

I may have to take a vacation from the forum or at least this thread.  I feel the old Steve being tempted to speak like I once did, and if I do, I'll be in the thread locker hall of fame.

wow ... I guess being stuck at home for a month and now having insomnia is having a negative effect on me.

With luck there will be several vaccines developed about the same time and these should be given freely worldwide.

When labs finally accomplish this perhaps there will be both the money and political will to develop vaccines to prevent other nasty viruses that have plagued mankind forever. Some in multiple waves like the Spanish flu.

Have you not been thrown out of classier joints than this?  😇

  7. A few days old but this article reveals the utter deception regarding reported cases of the Wuhan virus in mainland China:

    https://saraacarter.com/aei-analysis-china-failed-to-report-nearly-3-million-people-infected-with-coronavirus/

Anyone who believes that the numbers provided by the Chinese Communist Party of 82.250 persons infected to date is either working for the WHO or an apologist for either the CPC or the WHO.

The number of deceased in China from this virus is also just another lie from a country that has been lying about mass deaths since 1949:

Watching S Dakota results compared to NYC is certainly an apples/oranges comparison. I’d bet NY has more public transportation in a 10 square block area  than SD in its entirety. Elevators, escalators, subway, trains, cabs, all opportunities for touching any and all surfaces capable of carrying the virus. Along with a population base of 10 fold - NYC 8.5 million, SD state 875,000 a comparison of strategy is a non-starter and doubtful any true finding can be made considering these vast differences. I may have understated the premise  - more like grape to watermelon comparison —

Posted yesterday. This is what is happening at one pork processor in South Dakota:

Currently, it is wise to avoid crowded conditions everywhere.

the carrier runs on diesel  fuel , it 's a 40+ year old design , at most they are making fools of themselves ,  it cant stay in the waters for very long ------either , you need to refuel the ship , the planes , every day ----------it takes a lot of time , and while it does stop  to be refueled  , it's a sitting duck ---

Think back to the cruising range on diesel engined war ships of WWII. You'd run out of food before Bunker C. This carrier is about the same displacement as an Iowa Class battleship (USS Missouri was one of four in this class built). The Missouri could cruise between 15,000 NM at 15 knots.

Not sure if anyone watches the TV show Blacklist, but Season 7 Episode 13 titled Newton Percell deals with the deadly effects of sound. Anyway, no idea if the premise has any validity and am too lazy to research, but not too lazy to share this with you. Watch it, it's interesting what Mr. Percell does with his victims and why.

Women have been killing us slowly for years with sound.

They commence digging your grave as soon as the honeymoon is over. Frequently complaining to you about nothing being just one tool in their grave diggers tool box! ⛏️

Why clean it if the covid 19 dies in 24 hours? just wait a day before you use it again.

    JJK

Because it does not die in 24 hours. From the article linked above:

    "Method 1: Rotation

Dr. Tsai cites a study in the New England Journal of Medicine that uses a round robin rotation of masks so that each one is rested for at least 72 hours before being worn again. Tsai has not experimentally verified this method himself, but it relies on the widely held belief that the coronavirus should not survive more than 72 hours on an inhospitable host, like the surface of an N95 mask. The downside to this method is that you need four masks per wearer, and that's assuming you use only a single mask each day. But if you just make a single trip for essentials any given day, the numbers work."

I believe it has been found to survive for up to nine days on a hard metal surface like a door knob.

Now, what was that little thing that happened in Beijing Square a few years back? Now recall, the little skirmish at Tiennenaman.

Recall it not being a celebration

to honor the regime and freedom.

I was trapped at home recovering from surgery and double pneumonia and watched the entire 'protest' live on the TV. It did start off as a celebration and ended up a massacre.

Nothing like seeing armored vehicles running down unarmed protestors to encourage you to continue to live in a democracy.

  15. How to respond to those in greater need when you have excess PPE on hand:

I've not heard of any jurisdiction in North America being this prepared and happy and relieved to see my daughter, her significant other and their colleagues will have the level of protective gear available to them when they are at work in Toronto that she had while working here last month.
