  1. point taken about the odor being an issue. Im not sure what they used to seal the ports from the factory. I think what i might do is try giving klipcsh a call or even send an email asking what suggestions they might have......
  2. thats exactly what it is.... its vibrating against the wood and its really annoying. I'll see about using silicone
  3. So i was enjoying listening to my RF-7's today and noticed a rattle. So i thought, "ok no big deal it has to be my entertainment center." I looked and looked but couldnt find it till low and behold I found the culprit. Its the port tubes!.... or whatever you call them. They seem to be loose and rattle everytime the speakers are working hard. Any advise on what to do to secure the port tubes would be helpful. thanks
  4. yea i noticed some of the outer cosmetic detail differences but like both so thats no biggie
  5. is there any difference in the two besides one is newer?
  6. i was only curious to see, from people that have 63's, how many watts there pushing them with.....
  7. i was just curious to see how much power your pushing through your 63's and with what gauge wire?
  8. no it doesnt. so im just gonna go the rca rout. looks like monoprice has some really good deals so i might as well try them out.
  9. thank you for simplifying that. i was making it a lot harder than it had to be :-p
  10. for Monoprice. Check out XLR cables here. Biwiring your speakers won't make much difference unless you are prepared to bypass the internal xovers in your speakers. I would leave the jumpers on the speakers and connect either the top or bottom pair. ok. now as far as the 2 different ways to connect to my amp, just plain rca or xlr/rca, whats gonna be best?
  11. so im getting my first amp today and i need some good advise on the type of cables i should use for the cleanest sound possible. should i connect my receiver to my amp with just a plain rca cable or with a xlr/rca cable? im thinkin that the xlr might be better but id like to hear what you have to say......
  12. as far as XLR cables, whats some good suggestions on those as well?
  13. so your saying dont remove the terminal straps and just run a larger gauge wire....... any suggestions on which rca's to use to connect the receiver to the amp?
  14. so im getting my xpa-5 amp tomorrow and i need some help with cables. im lookin for the cleanest sound possible, theres just to many different options out there to chose from. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. also......is there options with connection besides receiver goin to the amp with rca's then amp to speakers with bi'wire? would i get more out of my 6inch drivers if i left the jumpers on the speakers terminals and just connected the amp to the bottom posts? all this might sound crazy but im not really sure of the best way to connect my components and with what to connect them with...... :-p
  15. the order is in! i called emotiva today and ordered the XPA-5 in hopes that 200wpc will suffice. but if it doesnt.......then ill wait for their new flaghship to come out, the tentatively named XPR-7. with 400wpc x 7, this thing is truely a beast and should be more that enough for a long time to come. its possible that the new amp will be ready before years end! so we'll see......
