  1. Trying to resize to get more photos uploaded....
  2. Thank you, Dave...that is some useful info. I have a pair of KP-115x subs and kinda like the idea of holding on to them in case needed in the future. When I discovered the blown subs and tweets, I did a lot of searching for info on making them bullet proof and didn't learn as much as you wrote. I have a bunch of speakers and while I love the old industrial look, I cant justify the money for my use. Cabinets are in Gainesville FL. and deserve someone who wants to make them right. I am happy to sell the cabinets and ship them on your dime via the UPS store to the location of your choice. How does $100 sound? Woofers are going in the trash so they will be a lot lighter:)
  3. A couple of weeks ago I was curious about the value of these speakers and got some good advice. It appears that in an alcohol related outdoor event some time in the past, the woofers and tweeter diaphrams have gone away. Woofers are K-42-KP with cast frames and appear to be correct other than they do not function. Not sure if they have any rehab value, a pair of Eminence replacements runs around $250. Crites diaphrams for the tweeters are $60. Rebuilding the crossovers by the esteemed Mr. Crites (what a nice man!) would run around $140. The end game leaves me spending $450 to wind up with some nice speakers possibly worth what I just spent. If you've read this far, you are wondering if there is a question somewhere. These are surplus for me, I have not used them in years. Are the cabinets with functional midrange and intact tweeter horns of any value to a collector? At this point, i do not intend to spend the money.
  4. Thanks for your input. Speakers are in Gainesville, FL. I will try to put some photos up when I get a chance.
  5. I have a pair of KP250 IIs sitting on top of a pair of KP115X subs...taking up space and not used much anymore. They all sound great and are in pretty good used condition for vintage speakers. I am thinking of selling....what is a reasonable asking price for these units? Thanks in advance for your guidance.
  6. I just noticed it on Saturday. Thanks for the great advice, I already tested the speakers and they are both bad...seems unusual for two to go at the same time but I guess it happens. Now officially in the market for replacements[]
  7. I discovered yesterday that one of my KP 250s has no tweeter or woofer, the mid is fine. I thought the woofer was just blown but both out make me think something else. I am somewhat technical, any advice is appreciated....Thanks in advance!
  8. Anyone hanging around Ih8mud is ok by me, some very nice and helpful folks over there. Like you, most folks are welcome to drop by....the trolls are easy to spot usually don't come back. Distance is a factor and I may wind up keeping these....worse things could happen. Thanks for your interest, it looks like a post on the garage sale would be good per Mike's advice.
  9. That's right, I am a recovering Land Cruiser former addict in Gainesville, Florida. I belong to numerous other forums as well and can send my online resume if needed[] This thread was informative to me and seemed right on target to mention that I would like to trade some of these great speakers for some more easily portable KP products. I enjoyed reading the thread, it had captured a number of informed and interested parties, it is a little stale and did not seem to be a hijack....forgive me if I have broken some unspoken rule. I will be happy to start a new thread if it pleases your sense of propriety. Much like others here, these cabinets sat in a church or roller rink or somewhere for most of their life. They are consecutive serial numbers, aluminum protection, aluminum castings for the inputs, etc. I can send photos to anyone interested, my email is above.
  10. Howdy, I have a nice pair of LSI with the aforementioned aluminum trim sitting in my tackle room. They are actually too large for my needs, would love to find someone who has some Klipsch pro speakers more suitable for travel who wants to trade? Any interest, please email me wh3309@ATT.com
  11. Interested in all, wh3309@att.com
  12. Thanks, I'd really like the ones that have the passive xover!
  13. I have a pair of KP 250s? which I think are pro model Heresy speakers. Klipsch made a complimentary set of subs, maybe KP115s? I passed on a set a couple of years ago and have regretted it since. Can anyone give me a clue at to the correct model number for these subs...or know where a set can be purchased?
