  1. With the eminence they are a no compromise solution. The basic mass is: 2 FaitalPRO HF200 $660 pair 2 Eliptrac 400 horns $550 pair 2 Eliptrac tweeter lenses $75 pair 2 Selenium D220ti Bold on 1" drivers $100 pair 2 Eminence Kappa Pro 15" 4 0hm woofers $220 pair 2 cornscalawall crossovers $320 pair Equals $1920... the FaitalPROs were the only used parts and they were very gently used by me. 2 cabs built, finished and all parts installed and tuned. $1500 seems fair to me. That said... its not a heritage speaker... but sounds great.
  2. If I dont sell, Ill be keeping... I have a few to many :-).
  3. So Ive bought 2 Dayton Audio PS180-8 6-1/2" Point Source Full-Range Neo Drivers. when they come in, Ill be installing. The price is a bit more but drivers are installed. The PS180-8 is an incredible driver... Ive heard these with this cab and was really happy with the sound... better than the Fostex, deeper bass and faster.
  4. Its interesting... If above the tweeter standing it acts/sounds like my 2ways... nice and relaxed. When you sit and the tweeter is in focus... the detail is zoomed and the HF sparkle comes alove. The idea behind the ofset tweeter was to allow narrowing or widening of the sound stage. In a small room the put the tweeter on the inside and youll get nearfield without alot of room interactions. Place the tweeter on the outside and the soundstand is much much wider. The MDF is dead quite... a bit more so than the ply... 1" MDF vs 3/4" ply. I wanted the fronts and backs ply to allow screws to be placed in and out without issues... MDF doesnt like that. So Ive now given the speakers an upgrade. Ive ordered 2 Eminence Kappa 15C 4ohm 15" woofers Ill rasie the price $100 to $1500... the added cost of these woofers are $220 from parts express. The Kappa 15C is most like a K43... In others words... no compromises on parts :-).
  5. They're pretty elegant. Thank you!!! Ive tried to add a few custom touches to each set of cabs we build... This one has a separate brace for the mid horn coming from the top and a cross brace... but what I dug most was that all the fasteners are thread-certed... so the back bolts in not screws in. The idea was a take away from a set of cabs Dave Harris did for me... the fronts and the backs bolted in... I thought the idea was too cool!
  6. Super kind thank you... The wood work is that of my Biz partner... finishing by Castro finishing in huntington park ca. Mad hatter ideas... me!
  7. Wonderful cabs... finished in med. Walnut with Cardis binding posts and silver plated teflon. (Ready for any driver you chose. Ive heard these same cabs with parts express point source and Fostex 6.5 and was dually impressed by both. Not the end all of bass, but the backloaded horn in a corner is super fast and accurate, with mid range to due for. These are just the cabs... Cabs are 3/4" baltic birch, perfectly finished and never put to service. Justin 323-868-9722 $700
  8. The Satin finish lacquer is mighty fine. I had thought of doing a hand rubbed slat... but my finisher wanted too much and I think I would want to keep too much :-)
  9. Really kind... thank you. They are some fine sounding cornscalas. Though I fav. split cabs... Single cabs do make more sense for 98% of people. I loved my La Scala's but always wanted more bass. The Cornscala give a better mid/HF with all the bass that one needs :-).
  10. Thanks... The wife wants these to find a home... I currently own 3 pairs of cornscalas and 1 spare set of top hats. If I get them sold, I might just get my Tq converter and limited slip :-) or a week at the river. :-).
  11. SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD Amazing Klipsch Cornscala... Every upgrade give... Brand new and perfect finish work... Piano Black Lacquer. 12. for me to pay to have it remover cause I wanted to or for someone to offer :-). Removal would be in the $900-1500 range... no desire to. Everyone need a bit of silly... and its my drink of choice.
  13. The logo for Johnny walker scotch... on my right arm... only ha ha tattoo I have... considering its matches my initials even more silly. I got during my bachelor party.
  14. For Demos, I bring my mac MBP, the schit dac and the new volume control from emotiva. My Emotiva XDA2 has volume control, but is tooooooo slow
  15. Has anyone used Amara symphony? http://www.sonicstudio.com/amarra/amarrasymphony_irc I use amarra hifi currently and really enjoy it. I do most of my listening from CD rips and wonder if worth it… I can evaluate the sonics, but… Has anyone used? Did it leave the music lifeless? What were your impressions? I have 2 room side by side, each with speakers. I wonder if I can have 2 different profiles and optimize both rooms.
  16. I wish that was my choice... Its a small bedroom which may have been used as an office, thus having 2 alcoves that are ~14" deep. I don’t have a ton of space in that room, so I try to make the most of it. The 3 ways defin sounded "better", esp with the new tweeter... Dave poured a ton of sweat into them, but they protruded into the room another 10" making a 10x10 room a hair smaller. The fact that these are true cornwalls means alot to me. I sell/ or help people (myself included) build splits, but I love owning a piece of the Co. history too. The 2 ways have a smoothness I really enjoy... somewhat different sound but still heritage. Maybe a good comparison would be Altec 416s vs Model 18s or JBL L200s vs L300s. I wish that was my choice... My personal listening space is: Cornscala 2ways (Eliptrac 400/B&C DE85TN, ALK AP12-500, Eminence Kappa Pro 15C all built by fastlane audio) McIntosh MA2275, Mac mini, Emotiva XDA-2, (DIYtube step-up, VPI classic with Grado Sonata Reference). Guest room/ Demo: Rig1 (ampsandsound split cabs, fastlane audio plywood eliptrac/B7C DE85TN, ALK AP12-500, Eminence Kappa Pro 15C) (Home built pre using super simple pre PCBs and 1st watt regulated PCB, MM phono/PCB),( Schit Modi Dac) (ampsandsound Kenzie special ed.) Guest room/ Demo: Rig2 (fastlaneaudio “poor-mans-Tannoy 12” eminence coaxial with eminence tweeter) (Above pre) (Stockish Dynaco ST35 in custom rack mount chassis) Downstairs: Rogue Tempest II, Olive music server (Never used… total mistake to buy), Econowaves with home built crossovers and Cabs from Fastlaneaudio. Or 3 way cornscalas which I’m selling locally.
  17. As many here know, Ive owned way more of Dave's speakers than any one person should. He build me what was my reff pair for many years... his Circle track tweeter + Eliptrac+ALK= amazing... a few years after that he had a wild idea to slam a pair of his eliptracs into some con walls. Dave found a pair of original corn walls and got to both restoring and hot-rodding these war horses. When I came to feel my rega 324 was limiting factor, the sale of these bad-asses funded my purchase of a VPI Classic I. Missing my 2ways brought about the design of the split cab conscala cabs, yet I still missed my originals. Recently the person who bought my originals from me, offered to trade my new Black cornscalas for my old pair... I jumped out the chance to have my pair back... After a few hours of listening, he and I came to a trade we both loved... and I gained my 2ways back and he got the reference has had been always chasing. The Veener is not perfect, and so Ryan is going to put some quarter swan sepela on ... Ive seen it on his bass bins and its a head turner... Im just happy to have an old friend home :-).
