  1. I agree, you can never have too much power. I also think those higher end receivers are good for your RF-62. Some of the cheaper receivers have very bad amps that you want to stay away from. I would also stay away from pioneer. Many people do not like how they sound. I don't think they even come close to Marantz, Denon, Yamaha, etc. I have a pair of RF-62 hooked up with a Yamaha RX-V863 right now and it sounds amazing. I would definitely recommend checking out Yamaha.
  2. Pioneer VSX-9040TXH? Anyone heard of it? Is it any good?
  3. The only problem with getting the 663 is that well, you can't. The 863 is still for sale though, and for really cheap.
  4. I would say, check out the 1800 or even the 863. There has been a lot of comparison between the two and many think it is a better deal to go with the 863 rather than the 1800. If you feel the need for more power, you can always use the pre-outs and get an external amp. Either would be a step up from the 765. Yamaha skimped in the power supply area with the 765. Last years models seem to have been a lot more powerful. I recently had a 765, sold it, and then purchased an 863 without losing any money. Definitely an upgrade. At any rate, the 863 can be had for around $499[]
  5. I have the RX-V765 powering my Klipsch. It is a very nice receiver and it sounds great!!!
  6. You should definitely take a look at some Yamaha receivers. Maybe The RX-V665 or RX-V765. They sound great and they have pre-outs!
  7. I would probably try to stay away from a klipsch in wall system...they don't come close to floor standing speakers. Are you trying to stay away from floor standing all together?
  8. I would get it without spending any money...
  9. Looks great! Must sound even better![]
  10. One thing I was kinda interested in with the RX-V863 was that it had HD radio. Does anyone know if there is a difference?
  11. There really isn't anything that I don't like. I love the RX-V765. I was just wondering if the RX-V863 would be an upgrade or not...
  12. I think that is what i'll do, but if I actually do go through with it and someone wants to buy the RX-V765, then I may actually end up making a little bit of money.
  13. As some of you know, I recently purchased a Yamaha RX-V765. Because of a mistake at electronics-expo, I got the RX-V765 for only $329 new. I was wondering if I should try to sell my RX-V765 for $500 (It is normally sold for $650 and it is still brand new) and purchase a new RX-V863 without losing any money. What do you think?
  14. Have you tried to hook different speakers to the amp to see if the amp works?
