  1. You're on your way, you still have a chance to curb it.
  2. Will Watco Rejuvinating Oil darken the the wood? I used Watco natural (the name escapes me now) and it darkened the Forte II, not happy.
  3. Hi Chris Welcome to the forum. Ok, it's late & way past my bed time but here's a couple of things to think of. Possibly the brass z shaped connectors on the back of the HIIIs have a plastic cover that wasn't removed. And what happened to me (a few years ago) when I was stripping some new speaker wires I was sure I had gotten all the plastic off but NO there was a very thin layer still covering it I was getting intermiten sound problems just like your describing. Ben
  4. Thanks for the link Chad, I changed cookies to prompts.
  5. I've noticed that, too. AahHah!! So I'm not going crazy. Ok then i'll take the 10lbs sledgehammer away from the computer and put it back in the garage.
  6. When I sign out it appears that all went well but when I take a look an hour later I'm still signed in. I've been trying to sign out all weekend this is not the first time it happened here. Ben
  7. I say go have a listen. I have a set of 1969 15 in dual concentric monitor gold in home built cabnets they sound excellent.
  8. I saw this at a yard sale for $50 all in working condition, I checked it out for about a 1/2 hour. It has a big fold out sheet of schematics and owners manual with it. http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/grundig_ks_650_u_ks650u_console.html When I read the specs 7 watts out per side I thought it should work ok with Klipsch speakers. On the back it has the din plugs for external speakers. Now I don't know if this design of amp (what ever it is, push pull?) would be worth all the trouble of setting it up as a stand alone stereo. This receiver is also sold as the stereomeister 300. Any thoughts. Thanks, Ben.
  9. Welcome to the Klipsch forum i didn't notice you were new here. I am sure that the cf4's sound and look great but i am going to pass on these. You should listen to them again who knows maybe your wifes hearing has changed and you'll get to keep them. Here is a link on how to post pictures. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/146759.aspx Thanks, Ben.
  10. Sean33 What are they finished in oak/cherry... Are you in P.G? i'm in the Okanagan valley. Which version are they.
  11. Check out the 3 lb 10,000 calorie quadruple bypass burger at Heart Attack grill. http://www.heartattackgrill.com/ I would think it beats a mcrib any day.
  12. She told me the numbers on the mid are k55v and the tweeter is k77 the crossover is type b she didn't want to start taking it apart to look at the woofer. the lower cabinets are mdf. hmmm... a bon fire lets see... hot dogs, marshmelows, hot chocolate, warm up the winter day and keep somebody else from being suckered into thinking that these are the real thing. If these are still around the next time i drive down there (only a 5 hour drive) i'll see if i can get them for parts. Thank you everyone for your replies, it helps to keep me from second guessing.
  13. I just thought of something... couldn't most of the parts inside be used to build a Cornscala. That's if i can buy these so called Khorns for say $200, they are asking 2,600 obo [:|] at the estate sale. Thanks, Ben.
