  1. Just sent you an email Budman
  2. Thanks Rick! I would prefer the original (Pie Slice). We haven't had a lot of luck with these so far. My friend is good with any of three mentioned
  3. Still looking for nail on, Laser, or Copper Badges
  4. Thanks for the info. I need a pair of nail on in good shape
  5. I assume these were the plain copper badges? I think they used the laser badges a little later...
  6. I have a friend who just purchased a set of Khorns from 1974 & neither have Badges. He wants the correct badges for 1974. Anyone have a pair? I'm told these are the nail on type. I would also consider Laser or Copper
  7. I prefer to stay with copper. This is the ones which were installed from the factory. I guess my second choice is the laser.
  8. bump for the weekend. I am still searching for a pair...
  9. Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware you could still get these from Klipsch. Good info!
  10. I have posted in the Garage sale...haven't had any luck. I thought I would try it here. I have almost completed a restoration project on a pair of Cornwalls, SN: 32X744 & 45. My nephew bought these new from a local dealer in Birminham Alabama in 1980. They were used for many years. As the years passed, the Pioneer Receiver developed problems and the speakers paid the price. They both had blown tweeters and one had a blown woofer. Anyway, upgraded the crossover with a kit from Bob Crites, replaced tweeters with CT-125's and replaced the woofers with CW1526C's. They are singing now! One of these is missing a copper badge. Anyone have a pair for sale? Oh yeah, these were CBR's. I also added Oak veneer. This is the second set I have done. They turned out pretty nice. Hope they go another 30+ years Santa Claus really needs these badges for Christmas!
  11. Thanks to all for the info. I think I will try one with a Logitec Squeezbox to play tunes from a network share. My share is wav's in loseless format. I am hopful this combo will sound good at least as good as a Sony 300 disc CD player. Thanks again for your input
  12. Anbody tried one of these? I would appreciate your input, positive or negative. I want one to be used for playng loseless wav files from a network share. I'm thinking about the Logitech Squeezebox to be used with this DAC
  13. Nice! Those are beautiful! I like the Oak too!
  14. These guys have given good advise. I bought a set of Khorns back in Feb. They were also in the middle of the floor. You just have to hear for yourself. They come alive once they are placed in the corners.
  15. After about a week with this upgade, I really do like it. With good recorded media, the sound is really nice. On the other hand, with poorly recorded media, it sounds bad. These speakers do nothing for poorly recorded media just as I had read. I think this is the case regardless of the crossover used. I've read a few posts where folks talk about those ear piercing highs. I can't help but question the quality of the media. I'm very happy with the B&K A/4500 and the CT-125's.
  16. I finally got the B&K A/4500 crossvoer and the CT-125 tweeters installed a couple of days ago. The highs appear to be very nice & crisp. I'll post again in a few days.
  17. I bought a pair from a guy who had them sitting in the middle of the floor. They do not sound good at all this way. They will come alive once you get them in a corner.
  18. I have used a kit from Crites a couple times. I was pleased with the results and this is as cheap as it gets. I've had my Khorns for a little over a month. I went to the website to get a kit for these, only to find a suggestion to replace this one (AK-2) and not to upgrade. Now the fun starts. I asked for opinions on a couple of different options. As others have said, there are a lot of opinions. I picked up a pair of used A/4500 crossovers and CT-125 tweeters at a good price. I don't have them installed yet, so I can't offer yet another opinion. I can tell you, there are some very high priced options when you start looking at upgrades.
  19. My corners are not perfect. I have attempted to seal them as best I can. The best way I can describe the Khorns is room filling bass. The bass hits you from everywhere. BUY THEM!
  20. I have a pair of 84 models which do not have the closed in backs. My room is not perfect. I have two corners but the angle is 75 or 80 degrees, not 90. I have them stuck in these corners and had to work really hard to try and seal them best I could. I'm sure they would sound better in a perfect corner. I've had these about 4 weeks now. They are amazing. I will tell you, when I picked them up, they were sitting in the middle of the floor. They sounded awful. You gotta have corners or false corners without the closed backs. I've never heard a pair with the closed backs, so I don't know about them. I too had a system dialed in with Cornwalls. I bought them new in 1980. I have listened to these and enjoyed them for many years. I still like the cornwalls, but you will not be sorry you bought Khorns. That is if you can work out you corner issue.
