  1. Would like to buy another SVS PB 13 Ultra if available. Willing to pay $1,200 in cash and pick up. I live in Lexington KY and will drive 250 miles each way. Open to different brands, DIY, etc. Any suggestions or items for sale let me know. Cash in hand. Thanks
  2. If jweber can get them to Lexington I have a serious buyer.
  3. I can see me dropping the crossover to 60Hz if I didn't have a killer sub doing all the work. You still think I should drop it down considering I will be listening to them at high levels? Knowing that I have a huge sub to do all the dirty work?
  4. This whole switch out made me appreciate the Quintet series. Randyh is right, if I get close to the same output, and do not have any speakers blowing, I win. Only problem is that I can turn my receiver up a TON more with the KG 2.2's. I even turned up the channel level and while pumping the 140 watts to them, I could still turn it up all the way - no distortion, but not near as loud as the Quintets. So basically, I have new speakers that can handle more (and not blow) but are not as loud........ Not trying to switch gears but the KG 2.2V and the 2.2's are deeper and overall bigger than I imagined. They will not work for my rears (mounting above a doorway). What are the best suggestions that match up with the 2.2 model as rears (must be smaller)? KG1's? ------ http://www.ebay.com/itm/261748273856?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  5. Spent over an hour with them. Messed with my Elite 94 to attempt to get more sound. I just figured this upgrade would have made me question if I had TOO much speaker out in the bar. To be honest, I used to get those Quintets just as loud as the KG's. I am talking just point blank decibal level. It has nothing to do with bass as I run a PB13 Ultra out there. I have the speakers corssed over at 100Hz. Speakers set to "small". Channel level where it needs to be. Maybe my expectations were too high.
  6. I got them mounted using L brackets. Look great. When I picked the up, the guy actally had the 2.2V as one of e speakers. I was pretty stoked about that as it makes my hunt to finish out the 5.1 set up MUCH easier. I got the Quintets down and was ready to hear these babies sing. Initial thought, not near as load as I would have imagined. In fact, it makes me appreciate how much sounds those little Quintets can put out. The KG's were a warmer sound. Certain recordings did sound better (more alive). I don't think I would consider this switch a MAJOR ugrade. Discalimer: I have no rear speakers. This is my intial thoughts on the (2) KG 2.2s L/R and the KG 2.2V Center.
  7. Any recommendations on how to hang? Any products you can lead me to?
  8. I am getting the KG 2.2's on Thursday. I will be getting (3) of them. Would it be in my best interest to look for a KG 2.2V to run as a center or just pick up (2) more KG 2.2's and run them in my 5.1 set up? Any noticeable difference? I plan to have brackets mounted to house/hang each speaker. Not a huge fan of butting them right up against the wall or drilling a hole inside the cabinet to hang. Thoughts?
  9. There are (3) KG 2.2's Black that are close to me for $100 - for all three. I might want to jump on these and wait for another to pop up. Thoughts on using 5 instead messing with a Center channel? I typically listen to my sports or concerts/music in All Channel Stereo anyway.......... thoughts?
  10. First off, it has been a while since I logged in, and man it feels good to be back. I forgot about the quick responses and the action on here. Nice to see you can still post when in need - and have 10 responses within the hour. As for the scraps - I can post them on the ol' EBAY. Not too worried about them. I only have 13" above one door (otherwise wide open). I was thinking something like 4 of these (with a matching center or close). http://www.ebay.com/itm/281501689994?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I mean, I have a SVS sub out there and any bass below 120hz doesn't touch the actual speakers. I would have never thought I would be in this position, twice......
  11. I was thinking brackets and Bookshelf speakers. I went with the Quintet's because I didn't want it to get "too" loud out there. I guess after two sets, I need to re-think things. I appreciate the responses. Any value in the 8 satellites and 2 centers I have? I am not one to fix things. My handy man meter is about a 2.5 at best. Ebay?
  12. I have a big boy room......... This is just my Bar (garage). Quintets fit perfect as I have ran terminals high up on the walls. If the Forte II's ever made it out there, you are right - you couldn't stand to be in there at 75%........
  13. Let me start by saying that I am 99% sure this is my fault. I have bought (2) full sets of Quintets. Both nights they blew, alcohol was involved. ----- I know, I should stop right there... Here is my questions/concerns: When we have people over and the night gets later, I tend to crank it up - sometimes for hours. My receiver will overheat and will auto-shut off. I turn it back on, speakers play fine. After another shut off (or two) - I turn it back on and there is little noise coming out all 5 speakers. The first time this happened I thought I blew my receiver, that was not the case. I then bought 5 new Quintets and the weekend on NYE - same situation. Pioneer Elite got hot, shut down. When powered back up, speakers played fine. After about the 3rd4th shut off throughout the night, when powered back on - the speakers were barely audible. Am I really blowing all 5 speakers at the EXACT same time? This is the second time it has happened. Anything I should check so I limit my chances of this happening again? I have a fan constantly on my VSX-94. Wondering why it is playing so hot but that is another topic. Before I go buy ANOTHER set of Quintets, just need to make sure you all haven't heard of something like this before. Blowing all 5 speakers at once have anything to do with the overheat? Too much power? Source? My source each time has been PS3 via HDMI (concert DVD's). Your comments are appreciated in advance.
  14. These are in my back-yard. Wonder how these compare to the Forte II's I currently run?
