  1. Thanks Dee, I'm leaning that direction.
  2. Thanks everybody. PM sent Mrtie.
  3. Currently have ALs (obviously not the most desirable). Not looking to replace the horn right now, and I'm running SS amplification. 1) Crites AL-3 ($365 new) w/ stock guts... K-77M...K-55V...K-33E (not sure on this one) 2) Crites A/4500 ($210 new) + Crites CT125 ($160 new) w/ the rest of the stock guts...K-55V...K-33E (again, I think) Has anyone compared the two? If so, what are your impressions? If not, but you have done one of the upgrades, what do you like about it? Thanks in advance guys.

    R25 Feedback

Excellent deal. I had 25's for a while, and really enjoyed them. Think I paid $350 for just the RF-25's...so $50 for the RC and RS's... no brainer. Go get'em!!
  5. I agree, I LOVE streaming Pandora. From both my iPhone and iPad. AirPlay truly is amazing.
  6. That is the best price I've seen on a 885. Supposed to be fantastic processors. Hmmmm...
  7. I like having a set of Heritage AND a set of Ref., both sound different, in a good way. I think you are on to something with keeping the 63's if you already have some Heritage gear (nice Heritage, at that!). The line-up of RF-63's, Fortes, and k-horns is pretty darn impressive.
  8. I use mine almost exclusively for in-flight listening (I fly about 2-3 times a month), and I love them. Also, they get better everytime I listen to them. I didn't do any "burn-in" (jury is still out if that's a real thing). They do seem a little more open then when I first got them, also a little less bright. Maybe these "burn-in" people are on to something...
  9. Better check that math, Youth! [] Three new would be $2700... So I'd say $1500 is a pretty good deal, depending on condition. Supposed to be lights out for movies!! I'd probably grab them.
  10. Great price for a fantastic center. [Y]
  11. Hey Bill, I've read on a couple of threads around here that the 64 (original) sounds very, very good with 7's that have the "DeanG" xover mod. Apparently, they are a very close match to each other at that point. Don't know if Dean is still doing his xover mods (I really hope he is, I plan on getting them on my new cherry 7's!), but it's worth looking into.
  12. I love mine. Seems like I read a thousand reviews online before I bought it, 95% were positive. I've never had any other fancy remotes so my scope is a little limited. It controls everything (except the PS3) like it was made specifically for that item. I was worried about the interaction b/w the Harmony and my DirecTV box...it's seamless. I haven't even scratched what it can do. Something very minor, but VERY cool (IMHO), is being able to download the tv channel's icons onto the H1 screen. You just hit the icon on the touchscreen and don't have to worry about the channel number (I can never remember those damn numbers).
  13. Chris Nolan LOVES his LFE track. Never more apparent than in Inception. The gunshots rip through your chest and the "kick" scenes make your entire body shake. Very entertaining film. Nice video, thank you for sharing it!
  14. Gotta go with Adore here, Russ. Yes, this is a public forum (kind of), but "it's time to move on" isn't really that much help. If you were asking for help on a blown tweeter in one of your HIII's, I hope (if knowledgeable), I would have more help for you than... "only HIII's??? It's time to move on..." For whatever reason you chose HIII's. I would not have. Is it my place to tell you to step up to the big boys and go with some Cornwalls/LS/Khorns next time? Personally, I don't think so. It's just not very constructive.
  15. Is that what you do with all of your fancy cables?
  16. OLED's are going to be great... In time. I think the OP has quite a bit of time before a 50-60 inch OLED is consumer ready considering an 11-inch OLED runs about $2500 right now. That said, I completely agree w/ the statement that 3d is not what it could be, right now. I don't really think 3d will take off until they remove the glasses from the equation (which actually isn't that far off). Until 3d works out all the kinks ($150/pair glasses, price/performance ratio) I'll stick to a really nice plasma.
  17. dtel- that is hilarious! My gf LOVES the looks of our LaScalas, more so than our RF stuff. We're only 29-30yrs old, but we both have kinda "old souls", love things with a history. She loves heirloom quality furniture, a big ol' pair of LSs fits right in! All this said, I believe there is room for both Rf and Heritage. Love the LSs, love the 7's.
  18. Quick question: Is WAV the only lossless version available on itunes without getting some sort of addtional software?
  19. Thanks for the responses guys. I went ahead and picked up the 2250B today. Beautiful condition (no wood case), works perfectly, only a couple bulbs out (FM, Tape 1).......$150. Got it home and realized the 2215B doesn't have ANYTHING wrong with it. The weakness I was hearing was in a faulty connection (should have checked it, I obviously "wanted" something to be wrong with it so I could justify the 2250 purchase!), fixed the connection, everything sounds great! So now I have two beautiful, vintage Marantz receivers...... oh well! I realized today that I am going to be one of those guys that collects this old Marantz stuff, and I'm fine with that.
  20. blsamuel, that is very nice of you to offer, but I actually know the smaller ones work. My girlfriend has my old S2's will the small tips on, she just won't give me the tips back (stingy)!! Thank you for the link, I just couldn't find the number (I have a feeling it was right under my knows the whole time!).
  21. It's a very sweet 15 watts, Russ! But, that is kind of my thinking, if it's going to cost $50+ to fix it, I might as well look for something else. I have my eye on a 2250b locally for a decent price. We'll see.
  22. I think one the channels is going out in my Marantz, is this normal for a receiver of this age? What kind of cost can I expect from a repair? Also, what is a good price for a 2250B in good condition?
  23. 64, no question. Buy the largest center you can afford.
