  1. Alright guys one thing that really stood out last night. I was watching and you can laugh Ghostbusters but the soundtrack now has so much more depth, there is LFE and sub bass that I didn't know was there, or didn't hear it I do now. So if the ultra 13 can breath life to a cheesy movie but one of my childhood favs. I am sold!!! I have to watch all three back to the futures again.
  2. Gentlemen how did you run your wiring for your rear channels? Is there wire laid across the attic or did you opt for pvc or even conduit? Just trying to get an idea I am looking to do this summer fall 2013. One pair of white Rs3's will fit perfect abov my kitchen cabinets.
  3. Guys I know it may seem strange that this one sub can do so well in such a large space. I haven't bought a meter to see the output so I don't know what the servo's were doing before the ultra. But I know the output is much greater in what is heard and what is felt. The output is projected better. There is no longer a fight between my mains and sub to see which you can hear. The sub is there when called upon. I will make some post about sound when I get a chance.
  4. Congrats on your new sub Mr Land. You setup is awesome!!!!!
  5. My friend we are, this is new news........
  6. Good Call Mr Land we are expecting right now...So overtime will pay for the next one.
  7. Fingers crossed for next year. I hope to get another one.
  8. Guys I am sorry I took pictures but the size of the pic were to large. I will redo them tonight at a lower resolution and try again tomorrow. Now to the sound. The sound and impact is just unreal. For me to put in one sentence. This the cloesest I have heard in my room to real theater low frequencys. More to come.
  9. I have my DSLR with me today I will take some pics tonight and upload them when I get back to work in the morning. Nice one Carl!!!!!LOL
  10. This is the best way I can explain it.
  11. Pictures will uploaded this week. Sound well all I can say is awesome. My living area is is kinda big for one sub due to my house plan. I added all the numbers to find the cubic ft of the area the sub has to fill with bass. My Family room is 18*20*10=3600 this is open to the kitchen 12*18*8= 1728 breakfest nook 12*8*8=768 this if I did the math right . 6100Cubic feet. I have to say without a shadow of a doubt this sub is perfect. With this much space I had trouble finding a sub that would keep up with my RF7's. The two servos were ok did the job very nice, but nothing like this. I had my doubts one sub could out perform 2 15 inch servos. Guys it does!!! With finesse control and authority that is so suprising. Of all the subs I have owned this is by fair the closeest thing I have ever had to real theater sound. Dynamics are perfect all the headroom the sledge amp gives it the ability to be soft then when a door slams or the cannon goes off in the hunger games you jump. I will be adding more thoughts as I get to spend more time with it. I was not expecting this type of performance. I am very happy with my purchase. Please write your thoughts ask questions. Thank you to all the members that offered up their experience with their own SVS products.
  12. Mr Land and I got our svs Subs on the same day. I think. It was a awful day here in Arkansas raining all the time. The driver from RL frieght called to inform me that he wasn't sure if he could make to my house with his trailer. I pullled up the weather app on my phone and it like like a 30 min gap now rain. So I called the drivier he met me at the nearest Wal Mart and the exchange was made. So I get back on I530 and dropped the hammer, watching the clouds and other drivers the entire time. I arrived home with out slight mist on the windshield and nothing on the SVS box in the thruck bed. My neighbor and I got pulled it out of the truck cut the straps and off inside the house we went. Reading the instuctions on the outside of the box to make sure all caution was taken whilel unboxing. This thing is huge. My wife saw the box and said "I sure hope a lot of that is packing". I ordered the black oak, the piano gloss is so beautiful but with two dogs all I would be doing is being pissed about hair. I don't think I will be able to see it as bad on the oak veener.
  13. Man this unit is sweet!! I have thought for hours trying to come up with a way to use it with my KP201's. I would love to hear the difference a external DAC could offer. So here is a bump for Mr Land on a really cool piece.
  14. I guess I am asking what sub have owned before to compare them to?
  15. You are right Sir. I thought I had a great contender for the SVS Ultra 13 where I could say I have two opitons or a sub that would perform better. This is not the case. I love JL products after at least a dozen different car systems from 500 watts to 3000 watts JL holds a special place in my heart for their sound quality. But when comparing the Ultra with the JL E12 the ultra wins, in the areas that matter to me, low Fre ext and amp power RMS and dynamic. I am sure the JL is compact and I would guess like a sunfire sub lots of power in a small package. Probably more accepted by most wives, IMO JL missed the mark and target market. To under cut SVS epik HSU and other internet direct sellers make a product that out performs or is a better value. Sell a product that is more money but has a substantial better performance for the money. If JL released a sub with 2 W6 13's and a cross response like the SVS for 200 more than the ultra with the same output. I might lean toward the JL, the multi driver config is more my style, BUT most people don't have 12,000 to spend on a sub. Thank you for posting the link about the new subs I would have never known.
  16. Servo's are Sold. Had the opportunity to meet SBinLilRock today, the forum and its members never disappoint. A good man on his journey for the perfect sound, like all the rest of us or to play with really cool stuff. I wish him the best and if SBinLilRock has any questions please just call me.
  17. Mr Blake thank you for that post. That reccomendation means a lot. Hope you and yours are doing well, the mac is still wonderful as always.
  18. Hogfan well I just looked at my living room 17x20 with other open spaces. So if your room is 14x20 and mainly closed or three walls, I think they would be great and provide a very accurate and musical sound. I have to say I am truly envious you have my favorite pair of speakers. The more I thought about after I read your email the more it seems to make sense. They would sound great, the servo is very fast and clean. Not bloated or muddy this to me would be a great match for the Lascala's. The only thing you will need would be some kind of preamp or AV unit with a dedicated LFE or sub out. There is no crossover on the subs. But I do have the X30 module. Let me know what you think? Will land would be a good person to ask about the servo compared to heritage line. He has experience with both heritage and servos.
  19. Scrappy I have to say I have never heard of the JTR. These are amazing but I must admit I know better than to ask my wife about JTR unless we were going to build a dedicated home theater. So think I will end up with a pair of Ultra's, I just hope there will be some output gain. The servo's play low and clean but there have been a lot tech steps forward since the sevo's were made. I guess I am just looking for two sub setup with more pressure than I have now. SVS has assured me that the ultra will out perform the servo. So we will see. Thanks for posting about JTR maybe that will be in the future.
  20. I don't wait to step on anyone's toes, I know there are a lot of members using this sub. I think the servo will play lower and have a more accurate sound with the servo controller. But the RSW might be a little louder one on one but two servo's awesome. You are more than welcome to come to Pine Bluff and have a listen. The servo controller really makes the 15 very quick and responsive for such a large driver.
  21. If someone interested in either of these items I will be able to take much better photos while I am off Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. I took these with my phone this morning.
