  1. I guys I have made my mind up to pull the trigger on a SVS ultra 13. But before I make the purchase I promised the wife old stuff and stuff not in used will be sold. Here is what I have for sale. These items are also posted on Little Rock craiglist. 2 Paradigm servo 15as or V1s 650.00 for the pair. Or 300 for the one without the grill and 350 for the one with the grill. This does not include the X30 crossover that can be bought separate. 1 pair of ADP-450 DiPole surrounds 200.00 I know we all love pictures they are coming tomorrow. Please if you have any questions email me I will be happy to answer them all.

  3. Nice call on 40 Year old virgin. Best spot I have Jimmy buffets Margaretville in New Orleans the whole Place Klipsch. I have pictures at home I will post. My wife went to the French market just outside. I just stood there with my beverage and admired the site. I was so proud and happy for the exposure for the brand( I might have teared up a little). I wish they would take down all the JBL stuff on Bourbon street and replace it with KLIPSCH!!!!!
  4. Thank you so much for all the responses. I guess the PB Ultra 13 has won I will just have to take a piece of cardboard and cut to the dims from SVS and see just how much bigger it is. Being able to use it ported or sealed is a flexibility I hadn't really thought of. Carl you and MichaellandKlipsch have amazing systems to say the least. Carl I really wanted those Bass bins you had for sale but….being a responsible grown up does suck sometimes.
  5. Having the two servo’s has really spoiled me, I like the way I can run them with the gains down (or half way up and the level on the AVR in the middle so everything has run to move nothing is maxed out) and still get good output without stressing the drivers. I would really like to do this with my next purchase use two of the exact same sub. But the two subs will have to be spread out, one this year and one next year.
  6. Mr land I love the servo's and I think that is the only reason why I am still holding on to them. I am sure if I had a pair of V2's there would be no need to upgrade. But the V1 only having 250 watt amp and the limited linear travel of that driver design has me itching for something new. I know we have talked about this before and I emailed my house plan to svs and they told me one ultra would have no problem. My only concern with the ultra is the depth of the box making room to have the correct port length makes this enclosure more like a rectangle than a square, hence may stick out further than the servos.
  7. Question of use? It will be mostly TV and movies, but some music. I would say 75% HT and 25 Music
  8. Size is... ok well let me say I told my loving wife that the new subs will be the same size or smaller than the SERVOS.
  9. Guys I am looking to buy a new sub this year. I am looking at a svs SB13 the sealed version of the PBULTRA13. I am just look for people's point of view on what type of box makes you happy. I have owned a lot of Paradigm stuff as far as subs PS1000 ported but a value sub, PW2200 was a ported box but sounded great. Right now I am using 2 servo 15's seal box. So I have used both types but not at the same time. Just thought I would ask what people liked the plus and minus of each. Gentlemen thank you for your time.
  10. I second that Mr. Blake!!!! Klipsch being made here in Arkansas is a great thing of pride for all of us.
  11. I agree.. I wish I could have got my hands on that beautiful Sunfire Mr land had for sale. That would have been just about a perfect match. But budget limitations require me to use the NAD right now. I hooked up both amps and ran my Audyess, I like the setting so I really don't have the need to really mess with it much. I have read about the brightness issue with the RF7's but I have the DeanG crossover mod so I dont experience it. My AV7005 has a nice warm sound so even without the moded xover I still think they would be nice. I hvae to say I am glad I posted on this thread, it has peaked my interest in learning about the vertical and Horizontal Bi amping. So will be doing a lot of googling about this. LOL Have a good week guys Jeff Tubbs
  12. Best of luck on your journey for information you have come to the right place.I don’t think you can find a better place to chat and learn or find better people. When people ask me about HT or just stereo equipment I say you most define your expectations. Mr Land to address you post my favorite setup was using the B&K on the LF and the MAC on the HF. But I just can’t see breaking up the B&K pieces they look just so good in the workout room. And they sound so good on the KP’S The rule still applies that the smaller the driver the more output with less power. This is why I like using the Bi amp setup. Guys by no means do I listen to this at full volume. But being able to have that much headroom gives you the ability to turn up the volume hear more of the music at all volume levels and not increase distortion. When I was in college I worked for a Paradigm dealer he always said distortion kills speakers. Using an amp that produces 200watts is great but you have to look at distortion at max power or when you have one of those days and you turn it up past your normal listening level.LOL it could be whatever kind of music Take this job and shove it, Pour some sugar on me (that one is for my wife) Hotel California. No matter. In my understanding headroom is the ability to increase DC current from the amp or source with out directly increasing distortion. Yes it will increase but not like when you are pushing amp to it limits. I have to say this, these are just my experiences and the way I like to run my system. In the HT world the way signals vary from dialog to explosions it is nice to have that extra power in reserve for when it is needed.
  13. Guys I have the RF7's like a lot of members. I think people should look at the spec sheet for this large floor standing monsters. The spec sheets states 250watts RMS, this is an understatement. I am running 375 to each one of mine and they will take way more on the LF side. The way I have found to get the best performance from mine is to Bi amp. Running them this way really makes everything flat and nice!. The problem I had with my Mac only on the RF7's it would sound great at low volumes but when turned up the horn would over power the LF to the point it seemed obvious to me. If think about electricity following the path of least resistance or the sensitivity after the power hits the crossover the horn will be louder every time. Using two channels of amplification on each you have two separate sources so the horn does not rob from the LF drivers, or when the LF drivers ohm dips the horn is not affected. Let me explain the 375 Mac MC250 (250x2) runs the HF on the RF7s and NAD 925 (130x5 give or take) runs the LF. This has given me such a good result I don’t normally have my Paradigm Servos turned on. This is just what has worked best for me I really want to get another amp to run the LF side that is a better match for the MAC something that will put out closer to 250 so everything will be equal. Feed the monsters!!!!!!LOL
  14. I dont work for Entergy PR but the pride I have for my company and people that make it happen in times of disaster can't be measured. Thank to you all. http://media.entergy.com/corpcomm/Superdomethankyou.wmv
  15. Hurricane Isaac gave Louisiana's electrical grid its first real test since 2008's Hurricane Gustav knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of people, some for more than two weeks. In New Orleans, Isaac was the second-worst storm Entergy has ever dealt with: Service was out to more than 126,000 customers in the city at its peak, second to about 172,000 during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Though it came ashore as a mere Category 1 storm, with winds of about 80 mph, Isaac left more than 700,000 customers without power across the state, about 125,000 less than Gustav, a Category 2. I would like to thank all of you that did not post negative comments about your utility company. Restoration on a project of this scale is an overwhelming task to say the least. Considering all of the substations that were under water during the hurricane, restoring power to the end user can not be done until the stations are somewhat dry and damages can be assed. .
  16. Thanks to everyone for all the information, this project has been put on hold so I can progress wirth my HT setup. I have started looking for a Marantz Av-8003. Thanks again everyone. I am sure some of you can relate you get so many things going progress seems to impossible.
  17. Carl after reading that on infinity's page that most be what they did. What are you reccomendations for a 4 channel? I would really like something 100 watt per channel or more.
  18. Glade your son is ok, I am sure that was a terrible situation to say the least.
  19. I have to say I love the way they sound, it reminds me of my rf-7's I am going to install the front doors this weekend.
  20. True Four Ohms— All Kappa speakers feature two ohm voice coils. Original factory-installed speaker wiring in many cars is 18-22 gauge. This wire, and heating in the voice coil when power is applied, increase the impedance “seen” by the amplifier or head unit. The impedance of Kappa Speakers has been adjusted to compensate for this increase and can be safely driven by any head unit. After reading this I might not be putting my head unit in danger and may have more time to get a 4channel amp. This info was pulled from the infinity site. I still want a 4 channel amp.

  22. Hey guys hope all is well. Just wanted to add my opinion of a new bottle I added to my collection. Jameson Gold Reserve here is the tasting notes from Jameson's webpage. Tasting characteristics NOSE - Fragrant wood, rich pot still with a touch of sherry sweetness. TASTE - All the creaminess and honey sweetness come together to create a taste sensation of spicy character. FINISH - A very long finish with a pleasantly peppery finale. My impression is with just couple cubes of ice how smooth and mellow this whiskey is. Some friends and I compared it to a mellow smoke like a a Macanudo Vintage or a cafe. Great whiskey, I had mine with my favorite Tres Hermonos (cigar factory of new orleans) a bold favor that for me paired great with such a smooth whiskey.
  23. Guys I need help with a recommendation of an amp for my truck. I bought 2 sets of infinity components and they are 2ohm so I really don't like the idea of running them on my Alpine deck for a long period. I didn't look at the ohm rating on the box until I had already installed the back door speakers. So I was half way done with the project and didn't want to pull it out and send everything back. Thanks for your time and ideas.
