  1. First themost important thing Welcome to the forum!!! Ok let's put this into perspective you have a speaker that is rated for 125watts RMS all the time. But you want to power it with a av unit that push 130 or 100watts in perfect conditions. I would have to say if you don't run 125 or more you will be under powering those speakers and you will never fully understand what your great speakers are capable of. Av units are measured in perfect conditions with sin waves not real world music and dynamics. Check the garage sale for the emotive upa amp that would be a great match. I underpowered my speakers for long time and I will never do that again. It is a waste of good money to by a great set of speakers and then not get the performance. http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/rf-62-specifications/
  2. Youth remember what I said in that email, the best upgrade I have ever done was add amps. Yes people shout Klipsch and the signal to noise ratio from the mountains. Bill and I have talked about this several times and I think we agree. Av units have so many processes going on under one top it unbelievable that they can do it with one power supply. To understand the potential of a great set of fronts and even good bookshelves have the available headroom in your amp to push the speakers with clean power. You longer have to turn it up to hear bass or low freq; it's all there even at low volumes. I knew I liked my RF3 but when I applied an amp the first thing I thought was wow and the second was I have been missing this for how many years?
  3. Man I will give you my 2 cents. I worked for a dealer for about 4 years that sold Onkyo. I was never really impressed with the power of the unit and thought they lacked options. But still a solid unit. I have owned a couple of denons not the new ones but for a set of rf3 or rf82 or the monster 83's just not enough power for me. I like the sony es units due to all the options for changing the sound to match your speakers. I know, i searched for the perfect av unit for along time but have come up with the conclusion that i want a processor and good amps for my speakers. This way you get dedicated units that have strengths in certain areas. AV units just do so much in that one box that they have to cut some stuff back and only one power supply to run all that stuff. There is a wealth of knowlege here and lots of people that would love to help a klipsch brother get the system they want. Just ask and we will help. Best of luck!!!
  4. Just wanted to say welcome to the forum and tell you congrats on the RC7(what a deal) I hope to look for one soon to replace my RC3. You will love the sound of the RB5's. Best of luck on your search. Jeff
  5. RF3 are my fronts, the comp current model would be the rf82. Thanks for the feedback about the rc7 so that will be a purchase down the road. So you are happy with your rc7?
  6. wuzzer I made a post about emotiva today and noticed that you have in your bio or signature. How do you like it?
  7. Wuzzer thanks for the reply yes the bars are still on?do youhave an idea? please explain....
  8. I have read alot of post from users that have installed emotiva equipment, and been looking at the new umc-1 how do you like your equipment? I think it would be great to replace my Sony es unit with this processor but looking for some feedback from owners. This to me is a new brand that I know nothing about. I bought pro gear from carvin factory direct many years ago and loved it, but never bought home gear direct Thank you for your time.
  9. I am just fishing here to ask people about the RC3's or other CC they use.My RC3 never seems to do anything other than be a horn. I am running a Nad 925THX on fronts and Center so there is plenty of power but I never see the Drivers move. It could be the independent channel of the movies are setup that way but i just wanted to ask what others get out of their CC's. I really want a RC7 but what is the use to spend the money if you get the same result? On my Sony Es unit my CC is set as a large which means bass signals are sent to the CC not the sub. Guys tell what you think. Thank you all for your time. Jeff
  10. I have to 2nd the welcome from willand, and admit to something. I have pulled my subs from my living room due the performace of my RF3's. A little background info will help. I have used a many many av units Sony ES Denon Onkyo and have always been left kinda confused at my speakers performace. I just purchased a nad 2200 at a deal, very affordable, and have fell in love with my RF3's again. Some of you maybe able to relate to this look of "WOW where did that come from?" Even though klipsch speakers are more sensitive than most the question still applies how many drivers are you trying to move and how big are they. My personal opinion get the 83's due to this will be a purchase you will keep for some time and with the addition of a quality 2 channel amp or the other config you will be amazed the bass response and clean output these are capable of.
  11. Guys i have what i think is a legit? If you place a sub in the rear of your room and have 30 to 50 foot of rca cable or a sub line run under the carpet or in the ceiling down the wall do you have signal losses? In most eletrical theroy the voltage will drop due to length of the line without the use of shunt caps (inline amps). If the voltage drops does this increase distortion at you sub amp due to lack of signal strenght? Thanks this was just a question I have been pondering for some time.
  12. ok that might have been an unfair statement, my point is that I want to purchase from a company that specializes in audio equipment. I would love to use Aragon but the used market prices for these pieces remain very high.
  13. I just would like to know anyones opinion about this brand i bought a power 2200 from a forum member and waiting on it to get here. I am thinking about selling my sony es gear a trying all NAD what do you think? please rreply with any opinions or experiences...Thank you for all the collective knowlege I would love for a mac system but i afford that right now....;( I would really like to move to electronics made in North America it would be nice to own gear not stereotyped as made in Japan.

  15. jake you are starting a hobby that could follow you the rest of your life and most people will never understand( the people that do not undrestand hear the music or the movie they don't listen). But from me and the few that do understand bravo to you!! I got my first set of RF3's at 20
  16. First Beni welcome to the forum, I have some experience but there are members here that contain a wealth of knowledge. I favor Paradigm subs, the PS series is a great sub for the money and you can see them sold on ebay all the time. Sound is great for music and movies. These are the models i would look for PS 1000 and PS12000. But remeber with a sub the rule normally applies you get what you pay for.
  17. man I have to ask you have a sub 12 listed you mean a paradigm sub 12?If so i would love to know what you think about it.
  18. that's beautiful!!!! so what kind of driver are you going to use in it? What size ? How are you going to power it? i am sure exteranl amp how big and what kind? Sorry about all the questions but that really gets the imagination going. I tryed it once but the pro audio amp i used did not do well with HT gear the best i could figure it the signal strength is much higher in Pro Pa gear and is not as sensitive.
  19. ok i have too say that Pawn broker must have been an angel, that deal was to sweet to pass up. what subs have you owned in the past to compare this one to? me klipsch LF10 paradigm PS1000. The LF 10 didn't really like it all but it was ok really sloppy. My ps 1000 really started me on the path of what i was looking for in a sub, great value and good performace. my delima is should i give up two subs and only have one? i know this sub is the best for evrything and i love the sound of a sealed box. I forgot one a Carver sunfire sub that was very cool and sounded great, loved the sound.
  20. OE you are right that is a beautiful sub i just have it for the v2 with the new driver. I am a true paradigm fan when it comes to a sub i have had a few of them an loved them all. But let me say i live in AR and love down to my bones klipsch speakers. The only speaker i own are klipsch and paradigm. I guess that's ok cause it doesn't break any NAFTA rules. I have never been in a audio store that has a servo in stock so you could hear it. So that would be the reason for this post to get feedback from owners and past owners thank you for the information.
  21. If you own one or have some experience with one please let me know what you think about this unit. I am looking at the version 2 or newer. I had the idea to sell my paradigm pw2200's and get the one servo but would like some feedback from owners of this beast.Thank you for your time and Merry Christmas to all
  22. If you can't find someone close use this link these guys are the best. Hope you get it worked out http://www.eliteaudiorepair.com/index.php
