    KSW 15

Wondering if anyone has an idea as to how much these are selling for these days if you can find one?
  2. Correct, it's the ports size (OD) thats an issue plus its a press fit with numerous little flanges around it. That exact port diameter is what I can't locate, if I could I'd just hack saw it to length. Great Idea you have ie bristol board etc.......
  3. My 20's and 30's are still in one piece but I'm missing 3 of 4 the ports on the 30's (fell out during move). Called Klipsch and just about everywhere to try and rig something up but nothing as they're slightly different.
  4. Is there a mobile version of our forum ?
  5. I'm in the final approach of design of new HT room. Looking for feedback on something I've been pondering Instead of using my 30's for fronts is it worth using the Cornwalls instead and use the 30's for rear and The 20's for rear surround. Just trying to save Another back injury so thought I'd fire the question To the pro's Thank you
  6. I'm in need of some more SPL and was hoping for some ideas from all the knowledge here. I'm thinking I'd likely have to ditch the 905 to get any more power so what do you all suggest ???
  7. Splitting up with my ex and not picking up my audio equipment in a timely fashion which oddly enough gave her/it the impression I didn't want it. Sansui 8080DB, an Audio Control "Phase Coupled Activator", a Marantz (made in California) pre amp. Fortunately when she/it and her new ride went to pick the stuff up they noticed that the surrounds on my EV Interface C's had turned to dust and left them...
  8. More than please with my 20's and the 30's.....
  9. Being low voltage I didn't think there was an in wall rating ? As for the termination kits, one does not require a 120v electrical box to terminate with the banana plug kits etc.
  10. Anyone have experience with "copper clad aluminum speaker wire ? Back when I was into 12v Car audio this was unheard of so I'm in the process of prewiring my HT room and looking at some 12 gauge that is as mentioned copper clad aluminum wire ? Any thoughts or experiences ? Thanks...
  11. I just listened to the 1st 3 disc's in the new WYWH Immersion set and was / am very impressed. My question is has anyone here had the chance to compare the Immersion set to the new SACD ? If so what are your thoughts, is it worth another $35.00 ?
  12. Agree with the finding the best sub location and I still move them from time to time. Currently they are both right behind my couch. Kind of enjoy having to hang on to something to prevent being fired across the room.....
  13. Compared to todays equipment SIZE is with out doubt a huge issue "pardon the pun". My HT currently consumes the entire living room and I have to sneak around my couch. Fortunately I have no females to report to at this time so I can get away with it. Should this not be the case there's no way I;'d get away with it. I've heard many sound systems both 120v and 12v after 20+ years in car audio but I can't speak highly enough of my current set up. Upon intial set up, a buddy let me borrow a Bluray Batman movie which I popped into the PS3 after following my vacuum cleaner around the living room. Started watching the movie (first Bluray ever) and when the first round of action/bottom end kicked in I almost got fired off the couch, went to retrieve another beverage from fridge and noticed some white particles on the freshly vacuumed floor. It was the stuco from the ceiling. I cracked the ceiling through the cement/plaster crown moulding and it snaked for another 7'. Can't complain about these speaker ! !
  14. Have you ever taken the KSW 15's for a test drive ? They're a hard find but I LOVE my 2.
  15. Just back from holiday... Going to pick up F1 2010 this aft that was just released on Sept 24th world wide. It's all HD and even has the new South Korean track....Hard to find up here in TO unless you're using WII platform. Managed to find the last copy in the area for PS3 The game is getting outstanding reviews !!!!
  16. From my experience, the more air you move the more bottom end. I've never heard either but do run 2 x KSW 15's and managed to find one of those for the cost of your upgrade only. Tough call.
  17. Agreed seeing the terminals say 1985 didn't even notice at first. Added a picture but can't find the save feature
  18. I'll bring in my memory card and try to post some pics. If it doesn't work them perhaps I could PM someone thats in the know with the jpgs. (its a work computer and a little fussy as to whats permitted...) At the end of the day, they blow away my EV Interface C's which I've had for a long time and always enjoyed too.
  19. The serial number info is on a piece of paper stapled towards the top back center of the speaker cabinet. the C11( written in Roman numerals) is hand written as is the BR and the serial numbers stamped on with 2 signatures under that. I was actually surpised to see the fact that the terminal connector plate was a custom Klipsch one with banana plugs and some additional writing and Klipsch info on it. I brought along a scew driver set as my intent was to pull off the back but to my surprise the backs appeared to be nailed on with small finishing nails. The speakers are front or surface mounted the grills are in perfect condition and are not masonite but rather what appears to be black plastic of some type. I have pictures at home but not certain how to add them to the post ?
  20. Thanks for the input, went for a drive yesterday and got them. No way are they 76, according to the Heritage Reference data the data is as follows.,,, C2 (2 x 1 in Roman numerals) - BR (don't look at all like Raw Birch that I've ever seen to dark) and numbered with a stamp 8709809 and the second is a 10 Can some else try to verify the s/n as I see it as they are 1989 built in the 9th week and not certain about the rest..... Himmed and hawed at 800 acct asking 900 but bent over and took it.
  21. Good Day Ah..... Plan to audition a pr of 76 Cornwalls in the near future, anything you guys can recommend I watch out for. Not a fan of paying good money and getting ripped. Also what are they generally selling for in the various parts of continental North America ? My intent is to use them to replace my EV Interface C's
  22. Suggest thinking twice about entry level Onkyo anything. I've also never been a fan of "factory warranties" as once these cards are filled out they cannot be altered by your local AV shop etc. I always perferred flexibility when it came to warranty options. Theres ways around everything.
  23. I run 2 x KSW15's and I took mine to my tech's to give it the once over. He's thorough and upgrades the parts and resolders everything. The BASH amp "can" be prolamitic but i cannot complain about mine so far... Suggest having the BASH taken to a doctor and verified as they can be finiky.

    Finally

Finally able to get rid of my TBD re: what I'm using for TV. Picked up the Toshiba Regza 55UX600 on Friday hot off the press. It's a work of art and not even dialed in yet, brings a whole new dimension to the Talking Heads "Stop Making Sense" bluray dvd. All thats left now is to dig out and tune up my Thorens TD165 and the Revox B710 MK11...
