  1. Replaced 'em, its working now, I guess something blew in the last one....still seems strange to me.
  2. Still can't figure it out, doesn't make any sense, guess I will return them over the weekend.
  3. Yeah tried that, so weird, I dont even get static like when you turn it really high with no sound. I dont get popping when I plug the din plugs into the sound card either like you might expect...I'm at a loss....
  4. Headphone jack works.....weird, I'm cursed or something, no speaker sound.
  5. I feel like I'm the only one having these idiotic problems.....anyhow, had my speakers for awhile now, and I always turn them off when I am not using them. Well I come in tonight, turn them on, and no sound from any speaker. I tried them on a different computer and the same thing, no sound. It's not the sound card, I tried different speakers and they work fine. What the hell?!!? I tried connecting and reconntecting everything, no dice. I get a green light just like always, nothing is muted, and I see the little green cars going up in down in the volume control. Any ideas.....Thanx -Cabby
  6. Well Dan, I unplugged the mic, and guess what, its fixed!! woohoo!!! YOU RULE!! YOU RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!
  7. When I turn the volume all the way down on the sub, I can turn up the volume on the speaker without a problem. The higher the sub volume, the more pronounced the problem at lower volume settings. I will mute the mic and see if that helps. It does sound like feedback, but I'm not sure where it would be coming from, and wouldn't I be getting feedback at all volume levels? Thanx for your help.
  8. It only happens when I turn up the speaker volume, not when I turn up the volume in windows via the volume controls or winamp. Its like when it gets above a certain level, the sub begins to vibrate a deep bass out of control louder and louder until I have to turn it down.....is my sub broken somehow?
  9. Kinda weird thing is happening tonight with my sub.....Im listening to music or whatever and whenever I turn up the volume on the speaker above half the sub will start to reverberate louder and louder and louder until its like insanely deep and loud. It happens in like 3 seconds till I have to turn the volume down to make it go way. It's almost like interference or something. Really weird. Anyone else ever have this happen?
  10. Check your connections, and is that isn't it, return them, they shouldn't make hissing noise at any level.
  11. The v2-400 speakers are 4 satellite speakers and a sub. These are about 2 years old. They are excellent, but had some problems with hissing sounds and what not. They came out with a CP-1 module you could install to help things out a bit in more ways than just the hissing, etc... The 4.1's are the 4 satellite speakers and the sub. These are relatively new. They fix all the problems, although few, that the v2-400's had. That CP-1 module is built in and it has new stuff like headphone jacks, on/off switch, etc. They are an improvement, but cost 50 bucks more. Well worth it in my opinion. The 4.2's are two sets of 2.1's which are 2 speakers and a sub. So 4.2's are 4 speakers and 2 subs. Hope you got all that Do not buy the v2-400's, now that the 4.1's are out. Whether you want to buy 2 2.1 systems is up to you. I wouldn't but that's just me. I have 4.1's and love em!! -Cabby
  12. never buy online until you check out the company at resellerratings.com or bizrate.com It's saved me a couple times! I've always had a good experience with companies that were highly rated on those sites.
  13. The newer versions of WinDVD and PowerDVD are almost identical in video, although PowerDVD has more "Tweaks" and options. My concern is the lack of LFE in PowerDVD, I find it very noticable, but have never used WinDVD, so I would like to know if there is a big difference in that area.
  14. The RB-1's are made for those speakers, I would get those. You wont find them for under 60 bucks though....65 is about the best I have seen. I got them at www.Audio-Direct.com
