  2. Yes, Thanks to Everyone! 110 should be back in about a month or so. has original Telefunken and MC tubes that are at NOS or close to it. . cept for the MX decoder which has RCA blackplate 6GH8 for higher gain. by that time I should be ready.. my imagination is running wild as I think this will be a great little setup for the Corns.. doing some research on turntable next.. picked up a panloc/slant cab for it. ron
  3. Thanks. still kinda confused on the bannana connectors as they're so many choices and price ranges. What gauge wires should I run between? I was going to purchase from http://www.parts-express.com The 2505 was brought upto date and the 110 is in progress. ron
  4. HiYaALL, I've got a MX-110, 2505 and Samsung CD player that I haven't hooked them up yet. What interconnects/cables do you recommend between them? I've got monster wire already for my Corns. thanks Ron

  7. Thanks.. used some Mother's carnabou wax. Those letters are sturdy yet oh so delicate. I found that if you use a stiff wooden qtip and small 1 inch patches of microfibre cloth it works great! ronnie

It does look like you need an elf for some of those caps, ronnie btw, just went over the chassis with some wax, Q tips/ mirco cloth. looks fantastic. Those letters will stay but you have to be very carefull, mines 100% still so I did something right tofay lol
  13. HiYaAll, Looking to recap my Mcintosh MX-110. Does anyone have parts listings for that, whats the best caps to do so, tips, tricks, ideas, suggestions or links? I'm aware I can send this to Terry and will do so after I'm done. However, I'd like to attempt it myself- caps, cleaning. Of course I'll need it adjusted when I'm done. thanks in advance ronnie
  14. HiYaAll, Just brought home a MX-110Z w/manual, 1 owner, fresh service by local Mac dealer, brought into spec, all original. 9/10 condition. Tele / Mac tubes. woohoo. I'm in process of purchase mc250 ronnie nothings 2 good for my corns
  15. Both are idiots! Pay me $50 mill a year and I'll be glad to take over ronnie
  16. I used this meter. The lowest it goes is .10 ohm on the scale. Tested twice; that's were it was. ronnie
  17. I believe I have a great set. circa 1983. Not sure how they can dry out iffin the can is intact? They do look pretty industrial like starter caps and given the low stress from a speaker they're probably not worn from that perspective. The Sonicap sound is similar from what I can tell. Too bad we don't have ESR meter for members to share and pass on. Testing takes less then 5 minutes. I called a Mac dealer on unrelated and he wanted $45 to test the caps that were off the board.. yeah right. lol ronnie
  18. HiYaAll, I've got a pair of CW's I.5's w/B2 xover. Recently I replaced the oil can caps w/BEC Sonic's. Today I checked DCR ESR of the old caps and they check out purrfect. < .10 ohm,- the lowest the meter would read, no leaks or flaws. My point is that these appear to be military grade and some are probably being replaced when they don't need to be. ronnie
  19. once you get the iron, you can always test solder something to get the hang of it.
  20. Congrats.. I bought my corns about 6 weeks ago. love'm ronnie
  21. thanks.. I'll grab the serial numbers and try to get some pics R
  22. HiYaAll, I've found a pair of LaScalas that I plan to look at on Saturday. They're in very good condition; came from a church. Only thing I know is that they have AA xover and are like formica black covered on the outside. I guess the church covered them; the inside is black. The church also upgraded the crossovers. I think they were once cherry not sure. Sorry I don't have any more info at this point. Anyone have any ideas what they might be worth? What drivers would I expect to see? How can I tell what woofer are in them? thanks Ron
