  1. Yeah, mine is on the same plate. But, I've seen faulty displays before, and it would be nice to have a spare (especially if I paid for it). I'll be hooking the amp up tonight and kicking the junky Sony subwoofer to the curb...cant wait!!
  2. NEW UPDATE: I received a call yesterday that my rw-12d amp had arrived at the dealer, and was ready for pickup. I stopped by the dealer and got it yesterday. It appears that they just replaced the amp with a new one! The dealer was unsure how much to charge me, so they just charged me $25 for the shipping. They said they may call in 60 days (when thier billing cycle ends), and charge me for other repairs. Total turnaroud time = 44 days. I'm not too impressed with the way the dealer has handled this. Multiply visits, actually having to bring the sub in so they could "look" at it, and getting the wrong amp back a couple of weeks ago. Now they dont know what to charge me. The amp came with a new power cord and a replacement LCD display. The dealer kept those 2 items because he said I didnt need them. My issue is: If I may have to pay for a new amp in 60 days, dont I get those items? I read in another post here, that Klipsch sends new amps with all that. If the final cost is $25, then I'm extremely happy!! But if charged for a new amp, I think I should get everything sent.
  3. I recently went through this with an rw-12d (similar design). I went through an authorized dealer locally. They had me remove the amp from the sub housing, and bring it to them. All it takes is a dozen or so T-20 screws and the amp pops out (the wires to the speaker pull off the amp board with the help of some needle-nose pliers). I didnt have the greatest experience with the dealer, but I recieved a new amp a month and a half later. I just recieved it yesterday. They didnt know how much to charge me, so they just charged me $25 for shipping. They said they may call me in 60 days (when thier billing cycle ends), and charge me for repair. That being said...if I could do it all over, I would just go through Klipsch myself and bypass the dealer. But good luck, and keep us posted 8-).
  4. Any update on this? Just wondering how long it actually took, and if you were satisfied with the referbished amp?
  5. Frustration is...getting a call to come pick up your subwoofer amp, its all fixed and ready for you. When I get there, the amp I was shown was for an rw-10 or rw-12 (volume pot and controls in rear for crossover). My amp is lost somewhere - they are making calls to figure out where. Then he suggested that I bring the sub in to the shop (implying that "I" didnt know what kind of sub I had). ...so again, I wait, confidence slowly dwindling.
  6. Hehe, where were you before I sent my sub in? I'm still waiting to get mine back. Lookin more and more like a flat rate price.
  7. I just called the dealer today, no new info yet. Honestly, this is the worst time of year for this sort of thing because of Christmas and New Years. They thought I may hear something in about a week. I'll keep you posted...
  8. Just an update on my RW-12d: I dropped the amp off with the dealer on 12-14-09. They will be shipping it to Klipsch - they had no idea on cost. The capasitors looked good visually, but I did notice some discoloration on a coil (not sure much about this). The amp also didnt smell burnt, so I have my fingers crossed. I will defenately post if I hear anything else...8-).
  9. Thanks for the quick reply...8-) I stopped by the dealer today. They said to remove the amp and they can send it out for repair. I have it boxed and I will drop it off tomorrow. I will keep ya'll updated, and let you know the final cost. $60.00 would be awesome!!
  10. Hello, 1st time posting here. I have an issue with my powered subwoofer. I purchased if off Craigslist for $350 (seemed like a good price). The sub worked fine when I bought it, and also when I used it at home. After a couple weeks it stopped working. I removed the fuse in the rear, and found it to be blown. I replaced it with a new slow-blow fuse. The fuse pops as soon as power is turned on. I plan to stop off at the Klipsch dealer on my way home tonight (I purchased my surrounds from them) to see what they can do for me. Any other help would be greatly appreciated. My current setup: Denon 1609 Receiver (running 6.1 surround) Center: RC-35, Fronts: RC-25s, Surrounds: RS-42s, Rear: RC-35, Sub: RW-12d
