  1. This looks good. http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrfull&1270255714&/Klipsch-La-Scala-Black
  2. Never had the pleasure of hearing "Belles". But I'm sure they sound as good as they look! Beautiful speakers.
  3. What a disappointment! It did sound too good to be true. I thought maybe it was a demo or returned item. Still, hope something is worked out for you. You won't know without trying.
  4. Sounds almost too good. What if the khorns were manufactured in different years? Or if the finishes were not matched? Still...great deal!
  5. Well, if he doesn't want to part with the 19s....have him connect all the ground lugs together with a common wire on the crossover board. After 20 years oxidation builds up between the ground lug and the chassis and severely degrades the high frequency output.
  6. Must be a Big closet ! [] Yes sound reproduction is very subjective and subject to many variables including the type and quality of musical recording being listened to. IMO, both of these systems when set up and properly functioning would be very satisfing and far above the average listening enviroment. However, some will prefer one over the other.
  7. Hello to all, I noticed many of you use Altec componets now and again. Well, I just wanted to share some info concerning Altec model 19 crossovers that might apply to this thread. I changed the caps on my altec 19s a while back and didn't hear any improvement. So I put the old caps back in and noticed that there were four ground lugs rivited to the crossover board. After soldering a common wire to all the lugs and properly grounding the wire, it did make a world of difference! (there was oxidation built up over the years between the lugs and the board seriously compromizing the HF) I don't know if Klipsch crossovers use ground lugs but it might be a good idea to check all the connections and componets on vintage crossover boards before changing caps. It worked for me. Also ,anyone using Altec crossovers, be sure to bypass those ground lugs. It really is night and day! BTW, I use to own Cornwalls and hope to someday do what some of you have already done....KHorns & altec combo!
