  1. I really liked both the RF-83 and RF-63, but I ended up going with the RF-83 mainly because I got them for only $200 more than the 63. There are better deals out there, I got mine for significantly less than MSRP, NIB from a retailer near my home town. PM me if you want more details.
  2. I did make it myself, check out the picture a few posts up.
  3. Thank you, that is exactly what I was going for.
  4. Okay, I have finished upgrade project #1. I went from: ...an old POS Sony Receiver, Quintet IIIs, Sub-10 to ...Onkyo 807, RF-83, RC-64 and an SVS PB-13 Ultra in only 3 short months!!! I also added LPs to the mix and I am loving those. I kept my Quintet IIIs for surround sound duty and also Front High speakers. Another adition was a Salamander Designs Synergy Signle 30/40 which I absolutely love. A few pics since that is the only thing that matters. 1. Front Setup. My RF-83s, RC-64, custom built center channel stand and my trusty ole' 46" Sony LCD. 2. Wow, I had no idea this picture was so bad, but this is my Salamander Synergy single 30/40. I'll fix the picture later. Below is the SVS PB-13 Ultra. If anyone is on the fence for a new sub I will tell you this thing is amazing. I had no idea how much I was missing out on until I hooked this thing up. WOW is all I can say. I'm no expert, but this thing is amazing.
  5. I figured I would post the finished project now that I have the RC-64 in place. I ended up going with something similar to Lylefan, but just slightly different and made of oak. Sorry for the picture quality, I'm not a professional.
  6. Thank you very much for doing that. Now my conquest will be begin, I'll post pictures as soon as it's done!
  7. My new RC-64 will be here next weekend and I was building a custom stand for it. Here is my question. The Klipsch website lists the RC-64 dimensions as 33"W x 13.5"D x 8"H. I want the top of the stand to fit the speaker perfectly, but these dimensions seem very even to me. Maybe that is just the way Klipsch designed it, but I want to make sure they aren't rounded to the nearest 1/2". If someone out there has time, could you please measure the width and the depth to validate Klipsch's numbers. I don't want to build this thing only to see that the speaker hangs over the side 1/4"...that would drive me crazy. First one to respond with good numbers gets a virtual 6-pack on me.
  8. I'll be passing through Tallhahasee in a few days and I'll have to check it out. Thanks for all the info everyone, I learn something new all the time.
  9. I decided to build something pretty similar to yours. That way I can get the exact build quality and stain that I need. I'll post pics when it's done, but it will be several weeks until that happens.
  10. Excuse my ignorance, but does that mean that I cannot use a standard sub cable? Will I have to run new wires in the walls? Thanks for all the feedback! No, it refers to the cables that connect the KA-1000 sub amp to the two KW-120 woofer cabinets. You can run them anywhere you like, but likely just along the floor somewhere. They are about the diameter of large appliance power cords, and the Speakon connector at each end is about the size of your thumb. The sub amp takes a standard RCA connector from your receiver. My audio rack is not colocated with any speakers including the subwoofer. I've got a sub cable and all speaker wire running in the walls to present a very clean appearance. So, it looks like I will have to run new wire through the wall to connect the amp to the subs. Any idea on cost of this new wire? I guess I'll need about a 30' and 50' piece.
  11. Yes, let's just take it easy. Also, I agree on the whole texting messages thing. Take the extra .69 seconds to type in a full word. Makes things easier for everyone and it doesn't look, well, unprofessional.
  12. I guess Macon would probably be the better option, I didn't really think of it like that. As far as the Animals album goes---Max, I was just joking about the Animals album. No need to ship it to me half way across the world...I don't need to raid your stash just yet. I'm sure you'll enjoy it for sometime to come, but thanks anyway.

  14. That is good advice, but there aren't any places around me that have that option. I may have to take a trip into Atlanta sometime and find a place that allows me to "test drive" records. I haven't listened to my new vinyl yet, but hopefully it sounds like it should...we'll see. I can give you my address if you want to send me that sealed copy of Animals...just to let you know how it sounds. J/K
  15. Went into Best Buy today and found some new records (couldn't believe it). Found a NEW Dark Side of the Moon LP and some Smashing Pumpkins (Siamese Dream) and decided to buy. I was tired of getting records over the internet only to have them not be in perfect condition (don't play well). Anyway, is there some place that I can find new records of maybe some more obscure albums? Maybe Animals by Pink Floyd or really anything like that. Does anyone have a good place that they shop? New records play so well compared to the stuff I have been getting in the mail. Pilsung!!!
