Speakers will be playing fine and then the speaker goes silent. If I go a mess with the speaker input a little it goes back to playing fine. What do I need to do to repair? Replace speaker posts?

The room I am installing my HT in also serves as the main living area. The viewing area has about 3,500 cu ft. The room including all adjacent areas and openings is something like 6,500 cu ft. I think I would be OK with just a 5.1 system maybe even a 3.1. I am looking at running the system with an Emotiva UMC-1 with XPA-5 or XPA-3 amp (depending on the number of channels). I have a budget for speakers of up to $1,500, I would be interested in suggestions.

Thanks for your comments. I notice you have an Emotiva Amp. I am currently looking at purchasing an amp from them and would be interested in your level of satisfaction with their products.

I am working on putting together a home theater system and was going to use my Fortes as the fronts. Does anyone have a suggestion on a good center and sub to go with these speakers.
