  4. KG 2.2 Made in 1995 value is around $200-250.
  5. Glad you are happy. After owning forte II for 30 years, I upgraded to IV's about a year and a half ago. They are a wonderful speaker.

  14. I keep directly on a carpet floor with no toe-in. Straight out in my listening environment. It has been my experience that raising off the floor more often than not, lowers the bass output and mids, due to decoupling from the floor. If you take a look at my profile, I have a photo of my current set-up.
  15. I did not perform the upgrade, but I do own forte IV's. Prior to that I owned forte II. I have heard the III's in a different environment. The most significant difference between the III and IV is the steep slope network. Granted the tweeters and mid drivers are different, it is subtle. I think the networks need some time to burn in properly as well as the diaphragms in the horns. What I noticed most between the III and IV was a larger sweet spot and deeper bass. I would let them run as background music for a few days prior to another critical listening session. I think additional burn in time will provide the results you had hoped for.

  17. There is a reason that the forte line has been the best-selling Klipsch Heritage model since its inception, back in 1985. What sub are you using? I have owned forte II for over 30 years, and now own forte IV. From a music standpoint, a sub is not really required unless you are looking for the lowest octave in organ music, etc. The forte bass is very punchy, and although it struggles below 35-38HZ, it almost sounds an octave lower due to no distortion. If the speakers will be dual use for movies etc. it is still debatable as to whether a sub is needed, unless you are looking for sub terranean bass. Purchase the forte IV and you will be set for the next 30 plus years. Do not discount a nice used pair. I bought a month-old perfect condition with boxes and inserts, etc. for 2K less than new.
