Mine always shows all channels when I watch a 7.1 movie. Mine will display the levels when fully installed. Yes its a Sony SDDS processor DFP-D3000 It will be used with the two AUX modes wired in with Dolby Stereo CP65 and CP45 might get the CP500 fitted up with an extra A/D 6channel board soon. The Sony will be wired modified or simply configured differently to mimic a five-screen matrix front as and when I want, the bluray Dolby/dts 7.1 will be wired normally for the common LCR and sidewall surrounds LFE.1 the front Left-extra Right-extra will be used for the stereo rear back surrounds and re-plugged, plus a dozen more ideas in the bag.

But at least its there for when its needed. I have some bass shakers fitted in the cinema seating I can't recall if I played the film with shakers ON or OFF as it was rather late at night. The bluray was okay, okay film kinder like Independence Day, Aliens attack globally and at the end of day get beaten after wreaking cities into dust and rubble.

I like the idea of rack mounting cooling fan systems. I'm looking around for thee lowest of low prices. I guess if on tight budget can always get parts cheaply and make one to sound very soft silent running.

I brought it yesterday as the price as dropped from the silly Fox overpriced £28.00 or so down to consumer realistic pricing buy one for £15.00 get one free I don’t know which one out of the bundle bonanza that I brought yesterday was free???? Why not buy one and shoplift x10 free. LOL Its got a mild use of dialogue panning not a great deal as its mostly centre channel anchored. I thought for a moment towards the end was there a sly soft circle dialogue pan and (muted centre front) this where Face has key in mouth. The camera makes 180 pan but nope no circle dialogue panning SIGH. It would have been neat if the re-recoding mix team did that. Sound effects was plentiful low when the airplane gets blow to smithereens with tank fall to the ground with single parachute was, just a bit over the top insane nuts laughable. Cannon shots thumped nicely on the LCR with deeper oomph on LFE.1. The overall loudness of dialogue wasn’t unpleasant on my JBL Control 12SR LCR with each wired in active crossover on DCX2496. Stereo surrounds was set with matrix rear back to give a little extra listening fun for the afternoon. Metal and other objects flew around on one scene that had me looking left to right and in-between overhead for a few moments. I like how it starts off in modern day with U.S. Rangers and how the team gets assembled. The gags were funny and the 3D scene TOO FUNNY [] I wasn’t expect that and made me jump back in the cinema rocker seat. That was the best 2D effect ever better than Avatar in 2D on bluray!!! The Alan Silvestri score was entertaining to listen too on the fast action moments and The A-Team theme on the end credits right towards the end had me turning the level up to +6db. The film wasn’t too bad I’d give it an A-Team +7[Y] its not THE EMPIRE STIRKES BACK that would get a +10 know what I mean.

The recoding medium often sets dialogue at lower level to con to fool us the sound effects are real LOL Between dialogue and some effects there might be 10 or 15db increase but the real thing would be many times greater. Know that soft dialogue moment in Fight Club (1999) on the airplane. Then as one of the same person Narrator/Tyler look out the window WHAMMMM! That scene I just turn down its not cool on the ears the middle range will be enough to do damage to your ears its louder than earthquake on DVD! It only lasts for peak moment than gets quieter than smoothness out with (narration) then cuts back, to his, alto-ego seated besides him and starts to have conversation with him-self.

The best version of "Common Man" I have heard is on Crystal Clear records' "Sonic Spectacular." While it has the brass you mention, the tympani, bass drum and tam-tam are overwhelming! There is a desk in the path of my speakers (quite a ways away) and the power of the tympani & bass drum throw it temporarly out of square. This may illustate the point that measured SPL isn't everything .... another version of "Man," on Reference Recordings can be adjusted to have equal SPL as read by a meter ("c" "fast"), but doesn't have near the force, wind, or emotional impact. I think this is because the Crystal Clear version had better micing on the percussion, and the recording had more content in, perhaps, the 40 to 80 Hz range. Between 40/80Hz I would say seems right. I do have version of this on CD-RW a friend recoded it around early late 99 to early 2000. Id have put it though Spectrum Lab and see what computer makes of it.

That was the last film I saw in sensurround not sure if Rollercoaster or Midway played in town I guess Rollercoaster would be certificate AA so no one under the age of 15 or 16 to be admitted. I guess Midway would be rated A like Battlestatr and Earthquake. Battlestar tv show came out a few years later wasnt it early 80s. WHOA! 250dbc I can believe that! I read somewhere years ago that THX cinema can recreate an atomic blaster, ether that or someone was having me on. LOL It would kill the audience! The shock to the system! I have few films on DVD with atomic fabricated kabooms! I dont think its possible to do it in the home without wiping out the whole town! [] well maybe just the neighbourhood. So maybe its fact 120dbc for an earthquake! Thunderstorms I seem to recall using the SPL db metre outside many years ago on thunder and lighting storm and not once did the level go over 110dbc much less 100db it was within the 90dbc range and yes it was low and loud rumbles across the region. Maybe it wasnt the loudest thunderstorm recoded?

The Common Man is mostly horn with the odd boom, boom tympani. They did a pop version in the 70s for the Olympics. It was in the UK chats for several weeks! I like both versions. Odd that IMAX doesnt quit do that the local IMAX in my town now closed and forgotten was loud at times with 120dbc on the meter for Haunted Castle but something was missing in the lows elusive? It was good compared to local commercial cinemas only 200 yards away from the IMAX that couldnt or couldnt be asked to make films better experience. It was just bass that I can hear and mildly feel in I place my arms on the seat beside me, or placing my, foot on one of the dodgy wooden floorboards that vibrated at certain SPL frequencies. Mind you it was loud and bit unnecessary. The neighbours must be thinking WWIII is happening overhead! The amp level was mostly used up for that and I dare do it again. I played the earthquake week before last with just the LFE.1 running TURNED IT UP! It was unpleasant it sounds like the raw THX bass peak management on most AVR when you set the subs to peak level! The rumbling was rattling the letterbox! Opened the door and walked outside the tone dips up and down it sounded louder just outside the door. If I walked a few steps further out it dips down and peaks up. I was merely experimenting with an idea. SPL db was around 110dbc in the living room I dared play it 120dbc luck not many people was in at the time below me during the afternoon.

Not surprising. The sensarround stuff wasn't on the soundtrack but completely separate equipment that was triggered at the right times. I wouldn't be surprised if it no longer exists. Dave Many no doubt have read Dolby labs in San Francisco has one of the sensurround sound generator models, yes it was trigged as I leaned over the years by pulse signal on the film. A diy model was made here in England several years go to replicate the sensurround experience in Bradford early 2000s I think 2004? I guess they loan the model out for some cinemas playing earthquake I dont know? It would be nice if Universal provided the same cinema-like Universal opening with original logo as the region2 is spoilt with that updated Universal opening with music and its loud and it sets the tone all wrong, I have to mute it every time then de-mute at the right moment when the John Williams score starts. Also the warning would be bonus it would tickle me to read it again, it sets the tone up for the film! Sensurround will be 40 years old in 2014 and I think Universal should do a sensurround box-set with bonus extras for each film not an hour I mean several hours of extras that have been published and new extras found in the vaults. Also audio commentaries/ original sensurround soundtrack for varies versions for 35mm and 70mm and new re-mix or the version that was created for the DVD is okay except extended the frequency response down lower to what it was let us worry about LP filters etc keep it original because people are suckers for originals!

What youre saying is look for any AVR that has Audyssey XT32 which is, one of these autoEQ devices and among other fancy audio electronic devices fitted into one AVR whether you want to use it or not, I agree. Youd think Audyssey its main autoEQ would now be mandatory on ever new AVR from low budget to high budget without any exceptions what so ever.Oh, thats nice model even has XLR for outputs. Its between £1500 to £2500 grand Ill wait. My budget will be around £600.00 for an Onkyo when the time, comes.

Well for starters humans cant hear 44,000KHz maybe 44Hz LOL I guess the mixers have pet bats. Hey batty can you hear that. (noods his head) mixer gives it the thumbs up. [] Most of u older folks would be lucky to hear 16KHz as small narrow high pitch pinching sound on the ear once in while. Most musical instruments cant reach that high. 44KHz what a load of codswallop.

I have only few CD of the same title on LP on only I dont have decent turntable to play the small LP collation I still have. Id try Star Trek the motion picture as its the same soundtrack content as the CD. I cant try Star Wars as the CD is new master not the same as the original LP that I still have. I only have a few 45 Man on the moon Apollo 11 and Close Encounters of the third kind. An LP is going to have artefacts that starching like sound as the needle and disc turn around and around with the odd mishap scratch. Same issue with CD dirt on the disc it miss-tracks or worse a scratch in certain angle that skips the laser from reading the disc. Tape wares out after so long even if its well treated if its chewed it goes from clear sound to muffled sound until it passed the damage tape. Heads ware down after a long time or get dirty and need cleaning. Then again same for CD it gets build up of dirt from skin dust hair you name it, even odd possible spider I guess making a website inside. LOL I think between the whole they sound okay the same unless totally re-mixed and they dont sound identical. Kinder like running two DVD of the same region1 and region2 theyll lose sync within seconds because region2 is playing faster and region1 slower yet sounds better than region2. I hear where youre coming from Roman. I dont like getting ripped off as consumer. They must enjoy doing this all the time to us while they keep the original master tape but dont want to share its fullness without compressing it so they can make a few bucks to buy the next new car. Get the idea!

For a moment I thought you was going say look for cover underneath the cinema seat LOL The DVD only goes as far as 20Hz its mostly peaking between 30Hz to 40Hz and 50Hz then shallows downwards. Ive PEQ it so I can stretch it down to 15Hz with flat response where it starts swallowing off. Maybe Universal band limited the LFE.1 as they dont want a lawsuit issue with home owners suing because it damaged the home? LOL What was the ticket price at the cinema if you can recall that?

Hes a fine comic actor or at times can make role serious but to take this route, path to a slow box 6 feet under is no laughing matter the guy needs some real help to get his, head sorted.
